Pool area was a joke ! Looked good and sounded good online but the water was dirty, jacuzzi was old and had no jets ! Was just an old big bathtub pretty much. Web site states the pool bar will be open Fri-Sun 12-5 pm. It was never open the entire weekend. Made for a dull pool scene ! You are paying for location with this property. Nice rooms and nice staff just falling short with the amenities outside of your room.

Wonderful 1 night stay on our PCH road trip! We stayed in the North building of this hotel complex, which was furthest from the beach but still only 2 blocks away. We parked in a private garage on the lowest level, with a convenient elevator to our room. This is the newest building, and lovely In appearance. The decor is beautiful, and our room was clean and spacious with all modern amenities including a Keurig and a spacious waterfall shower. Our hotel was within walking distance to the beach, restaurants, and the wharf. We especially enjoyed our breakfast at Jeannine’s which was a short walk from the hotel. The pool was a little underwhelming, not as nice as the website pictures, and the lounger cushions are in need of replacement. And we did have to pay for parking. But all in all, we had a very nice stay.

We stayed in the North building. Our room was spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. The inn is extremely convenient to the harbor area, many restaurants and shopping on State St. The pool area was terrific. I do wish the room had a microwave or the inn had one or two available for guests to use. We stayed for several nights, and we had leftovers that we would have loved to heat up and enjoy. One other small thing: I wish the bathroom had more places to hang towels. There is a single towel bar, so we were draping towels over closet doors, on door handles, etc. We would definitely stay here again.

The location of this hotel is great, and the outside is very pretty. Those were the positives. If you stay in the South building (one on the beach) or the West building (partial beach/ocean views) the rooms have been somewhat remodeled but aren't as comfortable as the two newer buildings (North building and East building). North and East Wings are mostly city views, but the rooms are very nice. This property only has a pool and a mediocre fitness room as amenities. No restaurant, no bar, no room service and no bottled waters in the rooms! I had to ask repeatedly to simply be restocked of toilet paper. If you get a room in the $200's then it's probably a descent rate for this property, but I'd say a bad value for anything $300 and up. The Santa Barbara Inn is also on the beach, far nicer, and they provide bottled water and umbrellas for guests unlike Harbor View Inn. I had to sign a document just to be issued an umbrella (from a secure room) so that I didn't get soaked. Most hotels provide umbrellas in the rooms and then charge you if you take them. Perhaps this place just needs new management.

The hotel is located very close to the pier and State Street with all the restaurants and shops. You can walk to the harbor in 5 minutes. The Funk Zone is the near by area with fun bars and art shops. The hotel staff os very friendly. The hotel room was huge with lots of space. The pool was also amazing.

Room was very nice and clean and updated . We stayed in a building a block and a half away from main hotel . So there was a little walk to pool. But very close to the main State Sr. Lots of activity on the weekend but when balcony door was closed it was fairly quiet. Lots of places within walking distance . Covered parking for this building ( with what I guess is the going rate for the area for parking ?) When the sun finally came out, pool area was nice . The”pool bar” was a little shack selling canned drinks from 11-5. But it was fine . Was a pleasant stay

We were in Santa Barbara for my nieces wedding. We booked 3 king rooms for 3 nights at Harbor View - I only wish we could have stayed longer!!! Barbara at check in was fantastic! We stayed in the newer North building with a city view. The rooms are newly renovated and spotlessly clean. The decor and design is lovely. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. Housekeeping was quick to provide extra towels and hangers and made sure our room was serviced early before we had to get ready for the wedding. (The beds are hands down the most comfy hotel beds ever) On-site parking is super convenient. The hotel is centrally located which made walking to shops and restaurants so easy. I hope to get back to Santa Barbara again. I will definitely stay at Harbor View!! We looked at other hotels as we walked around. Harbor View is the only place we would stay.

Great accommodations! The Inn was super clean, all staff were friendly and helpful, location is superb. We walked to shops and restaurants with ease. There is a great surf shop across the street and highly recommend hitting Helena Street Bakery (we went 4X)! We didn't swim in the pool but the hot tub was great. We received a complimentary bottle of wine at check-in and appreciated the corkscrew in the room. We enjoyed a sip on the balcony. Bathroom has separate toilet room which is helpful for families. There was a generous tub and separate shower with ample towels for all. Highly recommend! No changes... except perhaps better pillows.

We were put in a corner room facing two main streets. The room itself was beautiful but the constant street noise from the delivery trucks and trash trucks made it very hard to sleep. It started at 5:00am and continued the rest of the morning. It ruined what we were hoping to be a peaceful, relaxing morning. We ended up just getting up and heading home.

This property has a great location - close to many restaurants and just across the street from the beach and its great biking/walking path. I did have one complaint I shared at checkout. The mattress in my room should have been retired a long time ago. It was so saggy and it was difficult to sleep on.

We had a great stay at the Harbor View Inn. We booked a City Room, 1 King Bed, Balcony, City View. Pros: Our room was a fantastic room. Although a little on the small side, it seemed to be remodeled recently and we enjoyed the newness. The bathroom was also on the smaller side but very nice. The shower provided a nice showering experience, which I love after a long day of sightseeing. Cons: There was no view of any sort. Our balcony looked directly across the street into someone else's room. There was a used bar of soap left in our shower from the last guests. There wasn't really any place to sit and eat the day we got take out. The front desk attendant was not at all friendly when we checked in. He told us how to get to our suite and that was about it. That was the last we heard or saw anyone from the hotel.

Thé receptionist at the front desk (shorter woman in her late twenties or thirties working on Wednesday pm) was a poor employee. She could not accommodate early check in with 3 hours notice though she said she would. She could not help with basic directions. She said she would do her best to accommodate adjoining rooms but did not. And she reacted negatively to my (minor) frustration. All and all à regretful first impression.

Location is excellent. Have stayed here before twice and will be back soon. Very clean and service is excellent. Had an issue with air conditioner in our first room which was addressed immediately. Couldn't be fixed at the time and we were immediately moved to another room and because of our issue, we were given a bottle of Champagne for our troubles. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Can't wait to return

Harbor View Hotel is very convenient to the beach and to a bunch of restaurants. The extraordinary thing about the hotel is the staff. They go out of their way to be helpful. We left something in the room which they found and called us and then shipped it out immediately. We were extremely thankful and shall return to the hotel!!

Very close to the pier & shops. The hotel is split into 2 sections—we were in the 2nd section (without ocean view but we did see the train which was good). there is a $32 charge for parking. We would stay here again.

The hotel is located very close to the pier and State Street with all the restaurants and shops. You can walk to the harbor in 5 minutes. The Funk Zone is the near by area with fun bars and art shops. The hotel staff os very friendly. The hotel room was huge with lots of space. The pool was also amazing.

Really enjoyed this hotel. Great location, across from the beach and a close walk to the train station. Beds and pillows so comfortable. We got a room without an ocean view and were glad because the rooms with an ocean view are next to a very busy road. Wish the pool was bigger. Also would have appreciated some complementary water in the lobby and room. Great restaurant next door for breakfast or lunch. Overall great hotel and I would come back again.

I paid extra for the view and I got view on parking lot under my tiny balcony. Swimming pool was located over two streets in another location. No room serves, no Restorant, no bottle water, but the coffee maker.

Lovely location opposite beach pier and boardwalk, lots of restaurants nearby along with harbour all within walking distance. Very friendly staff, welcoming and helpful. Only stayed for one night. Could have easily stayed a few more!

Very nice clean upgraded rooms. Large property. Disappointing that property has no bar/reataraunt or breakfast. Lots of options in area though. Close to downtown, beach, harbor and pier. Electric bike rentals right across the street. Would stay again.

A very nice hotel. There are is no convenience shop or breakfast. The mini bars have been removed for our safety. The bed was comfortable. The shower head was broken but I "fixed" it with a towel. I didnt want to waste my vacation time calling someone to fix it. Housekeeping was very nice and the girls at the front were to. All the employees I encountered were very friendly unlike the other patrons. I think it was highly priced but I guess location says it all! I would not stay here again even though I enjoyed my time.

The location of this hotel is great, and the outside is very pretty. Those were the positives. If you stay in the South building (one on the beach) or the West building (partial beach/ocean views) the rooms have been somewhat remodeled but aren't as comfortable as the two newer buildings (North building and East building). North and East Wings are mostly city views, but the rooms are very nice. This property only has a pool and a mediocre fitness room as amenities. No restaurant, no bar, no room service and no bottled waters in the rooms! I had to ask repeatedly to simply be restocked of toilet paper. If you get a room in the $200's then it's probably a descent rate for this property, but I'd say a bad value for anything $300 and up. The Santa Barbara Inn is also on the beach, far nicer, and they provide bottled water and umbrellas for guests unlike Harbor View Inn. I had to sign a document just to be issued an umbrella (from a secure room) so that I didn't get soaked. Most hotels provide umbrellas in the rooms and then charge you if you take them. Perhaps this place just needs new management.

We took Amtrak to Santa Barbara and then walked to the Harbor View Inn. It was a very short walk. The hotel is close to the pier, beach across the street and harbor is walking distance. The pool area was fun. Pool and spa heated to the right temperatures. It was basically a BYOB and food. Although no restaurant at hotel there were lots close by.

Some years we travel 46 weekends. I would never recommend this property. Three coffee machines, 1 defective frig. TV failed after 10:30 two nights. Called the office with TV Problem, they said no one working offered to send up wine. Rooms only cleaned every other day.
