I like the convenience of the property, but I’m surprise that you have to pay for parking.

Great place other than the unexpected parking charge and having to back out to my car to place a parking pass on my dash.

Great start all around. They charge to park and use laundry.

As a hotels.com Gold member, I spend a lot of time in hotels. Stay always seemed to have an attitude. If you want snacks or food you have to ask for a access card to get into the room. If you want to do laundry you also have to ask for an access card. They have 4 washing machines and only 1 of them works. Doesn’t seem like management cares to fix things. Hotel is old and outdated. They also charge $7.50 a night to park there. Sonesta didn’t do them selfs any favors by buying this property. I’ve stayed at 4 different Sonesta property’s in the last month and this one is by far the worst.

This property is convenient to SCU and surrounding areas, and walkable to stores and restaurants. It also has good working area in room. I\'ve stayed here before and the one of the recent changes is they now charge for parking. Management commented is the charge is "one of the lowest in the area". Other hotels in the area don\'t charge for parking, so you are not the lowest. This should be part of the price and included, but probably someone in corporate decided to increase revenue w/out increasing room price to stay competitive. Anyway, that was disappointing.

I THINK 7.50 TO PARK IS BS

This was a great hotel to stay at. It was in a safe environment and they provided easy access to all the locations I needed to be at. The only thing that surprised me was the charge for the car park.

I could cook my own food. No pool but gym.

This location was convenient for public transportation as a train was right next to it and you had a Starbucks and another shop within the same plaza. One thing that was awful about this place was air quality. The air inside this place was thick, poor, and had a variety of over powering smells depending on the time of day. I walked in one time and they were Febreezing the whole place as if they were disinfecting it. The room itself smelt like burnt popcorn all the time even when I had the window wide open. Legitimately the air quality was extremely poor… Staff was really polite and nice every time I saw them. Check in was easy and hassle free even though I arrived early. The gym in there is pretty bad as well so go in with low expectations. It def felt like it was a bit older. It wasn’t horrible quality but nothing new and fresh, the air quality was far from fresh. I did like this place for the fact I could hop on a train and within an hour be in San Francisco so if you don’t spend a lot of time in the hotel, it’s a nice location. Bed was comfortable and the AC worked well. Had a nice mini kitchen with fridge and counter space which was nice. The layout of the hotel room was nice and specious feeling for setting up a desk area and such. Internet speeds were good as well while I uploaded video files to clients.

Read the fine print...your charged for parking at this hotel & have no breakfast options! The hotel is rundown & mediocre at best.

Room and bed were clean. It’s an older establishment so the bathroom smelled the sewer kinda bad. Other than that, everything was comfortable.

Carpet was dirty and place had a smell

Location is convenient. Hotel needs renovation and upgrades. It’s smelly and stuffy upon entrance. Room was dirty. Lots of dust. Towels and wash cloths were dirty (yellow-tinged) and gave me hives due to dust. Free laundry facility on site which they make you pay for. They created a lock so that they charge you for entry. $6/for one load. 2 out of four washers actually work and your clothes still smell dirty afterwards. Six dryers and only two gets hot and a few have “out of order” signs along with the washers. My main issue with this property, they want to overcharge and place a hold for everything on your credit card on file. If you want to wash a load of laundry, you have to reserve a time slot in the laundry room and pick up the “card” to enter the laundry fsixkitu from the front desk. This is so they’re making sure they debit your card in file to pay for it. Even if you have $6 cash, they charge your card on file. Make sure to check the card bc they process amounts way over what the actual fee is. The coffee pot in my room (the second one I requested bc the first was filthy) continued to spit out dirty particles in my water after cleansing it several times. How can I coffee pot get food items inside of the water chamber? Food scum stuck inside of microwave, refrigerator, etc. For a business traveler, it’s just too dirty and noisy for the pride they charge. It should be cheaper. Noisy for a night shifter. Trains, buses nearby. Vacuuming halls, AC/frig makes constant noise

Nice location, staff was friendly. The cleanliness was bad! There were coffee stains on the inside of my door that I had to clean and stains on the carpet. Won’t stay at this location again.

The front desk was friendly and very accommodating. The hotel is not the cleanest. I observed bags of garbage in the first floor hall. There’s an overall odor…maybe of smoke. The first floor room smelled heavily of smoke, so I requested another and was transferred to a third floor room, which was much better, but there was still a bit of that smell. I just didn’t trust that my room had actually been sterilized. Other than that, the bed was very comfortable. It was quiet. Everything worked; nothing was broken. I felt safe with the indoor halls/doors and locks. I appreciated that there was an elevator between floors. The front desk attendant was super friendly.

Great Hotel for price and cleanliness!

The hotel is a bit worn out. Torn up furniture and a leaky shower head that sprays water on to the bathroom floor. TV is tiny by todays standards.

A good TV is kind of important to me as I like to relax and watch TV after work. The TV is very outdated. Other than that, the staff and location is very good.

Heating in room was very poor. Says it sleeps 3, fold out couch VERY uncomfortable, mattress bad

A good, clean pet friendly place. Staff was great. But, do not recommend if you like your quiet and are sensitive to noise. It is right next to a Caltrain stop. Runs from about 4:30 am-11:30 pm. It is loud!! Also, we could hear every footstep in room above us, all night…

The back side of the hotel butted up against the railroad tracks so I heard trains all night. Needs ear plugs to get decent sleep. The toilet would not flush unless you took the lid off because the handle would not work.

Although it was a pleasant place, I don't feel I will stay at this one again. I was not able to get internet service; the sink in the bathroom was coming away from the wall and didn't have a shelf. Staff was nice.

The hotel is in need of a makeover; the carpet, furniture, etc, are highly worn out. It's a highly trafficked hotel.

Property is out of date. The WiFi it’s terrible couldn’t get work done. Hotel is right next to a train tracks. My room freezer did not have icemaker or ice trays so I cannot have ice for the two days I was there. The room smelled terrible. Hard to get sleep when the train kept going by every 10-20 mins even in the middle of the night.

You get a lot of space for how much you pay and everything is so clean. We've stayed here plenty of times and already booked again for next month. Will always be the go to hotel if we have business in DT San Jose.

It's right next to the Caltrain do very convenient!!! The studio room had full kitchen and spacious. Would come again.

Paid for a suite and theg gave my room away. Family of 4 with a 2 and 5 year old with 1 queen bed. No fun amd no sleep. Will never stay here again. Unfortunately this made me not want to stay at ALL Sonestas ever again.

Shower was not working, no water coming out. Asked front desk for another room and they reused but didn't offer solution.

This was my third week staying here. Other 2 times were pleasant which is why I went back for the third week. Well, this time our room had no hot water. They tried to give us access to 2 other rooms for a shower and they didn’t have hot water either. They finally moved us to a room that had hot water but as soon as you entered the room it had such a foul odor. Every time you entered you could smell it. We were told they couldnt accommodate us to a better room since we booked third party. We asked for room service and they never came. This was overall a negative experience. I visit for work weekly and will be finding a new hotel to stay at.

Rooms cleaned only after 7 days leaving wet towels in the bathroom. No printed receipt on check in or check out even when requested. Lack of customer service.

The staff was very kind and helpful. Gave us great recommendations on where to eat and made us feel very welcomed. Room was large and comfortable

When we checked in our deposits was 250, way more than the actual room. When we booked, it said all fees included witch was not true. The last place we booked through the app was only 20 dollar deposits. We also got a different room and had to pay extra to get the room we originally booked.

They charge me twice the amount I supposed pay all they said is that that was a mistake and my money was on hold for 10 days also they make an extra charge for 196 that it was return back 13 days latter the worst experience no apology no explanation terrible

Staff were friendly once arriving. Location is a safe area with minimum traffic.

Nice area around the place. Good eating optiona nearby. Public transport availa le nextdoor.

Clean rooms and kitchens with friendly staff and near PayPal Stadium for Earthquakes games.

Our room was clean and comfortable, very convenient to Santa Clara University. We felt like it was a safe area for walking. There's a Starbucks in the parking lot which was great for our morning coffee/food. It was a little noisy, as the train station is next door and the tracks are directly behind the hotel. It didn't bother us, but if you are looking for somewhere quiet, this is not the place.

Nearby public transportation specially caltrain.

Great location across from Santa Clara university. Walkable to Starbucks and Safeway. Staff very helpful. Good sized room with full kitchen. Older facility close to commuter train and affordable. Highly recommend especially if you have business on campus.

If you are a long term stayer, it's pretty good value for the location. The front desk is usually very responsive and helpful except in the middle of the night sometimes. The rooms are nice. The amenities are okay but the location is top tier. You cannot have a better hotel location.

Location was nice, shared in a small strip mall directly across from Santa Clara University, next to the train station, but noise level was very low. Quiet and comfortable. Only downside was the bathroom sink and tub were stopping up. Stayed 2 nights very comfortably as a solo traveler. Overall, felt like sraing in a studio apartment, which I loved. Would stay again.

Friendly service. Great coffee

At the time of our stay it was either newly being finished or just upgraded as the onky thing not available was the dining/breakfast area. Other than that we have stayed multiple times and recommend to our family and friends.

The room, 108 was clean and comfortable, a long walk for an 80 year old. The front desk left a lot to be desired. Cold! Came up later to buy food for breakfast, no breakfast food. The best I could do was Mac 'n Cheese. Good but not the eggs I was looking for. No room service what so ever. Went to front desk and told girl the circuit breaker had reset and I didn't have use of the microwave or coffee maker and would she have it fixed. No one came. No hot coffee in the morning or microwave. Smart remark from additional person behind desk that she didn't speak my kind of English. These kids need to polish up their manners.

Need to improve maintenance of the coffee bar. I know that they have back stock on coffee choices but usually have only one choice.
