Incredible in every respect, except they’d run out of sanitisation wipes at the gym and they weren’t replenished during my stay. Hygiene, especially with gym equipment is really important and there was no way to clean things. I’m sure it was temporary glitch.

The hotel has really nice modern clean rooms and is centrally located just across from the casino. Staff were nice as was the lobby bar. Parking was under Sky City via a long underground route. If you need to leave quickly, or go in and out various times by car then the parking situation is a major inconvenience.

Great hotel. Rooms are big and nicely appointed. The Breakfast buffet has lots of options and was delicious. Staff are amazing. I used the gym everyday, good quality equipment and very clean. The Valet was so convenient, I would highly recommend this hotel.

I was here on business, so my time here was relatively short. The room is well equipped with lots of sockets for charging my various devices. The bed is ULTRA COMFY! The breakfast was an additional option for purchase, and it was well worth it. The gym has good workout equipment. I would stay here again.

We’ve stayed here multiple times, great part of the city, plenty around to see and do in a short walk, rooms are modern and beautiful, we drink at the bar, order room service, staff is top notch, nothing negative, you can use the pool and fitness area at sky city hotel next door and adjoins to the casino, can do early check in and late checkout, leave your baggage till your flight, so many good things I can say here

Everything was excellent very happy stay overall. The only disappointment was collecting my valet parking during checked out was delay despite highlighted as the night before that I need to collect the car in the early morning. There was no sorry from the service staff at all.

The hotel is in a very convenient spot especially if you want to be close to the downtown financial district, and there is an abundance of dining options and services nearby. The staff were extremely polite and helpful, and the room maintenance and service is excellent. If there is one downside to the hotel is that the parking is very confusing and takes a bit of getting used to.

This is at best a 3 star hotel. We received really poor service. The room was cleaned at 4.30pm everyday, requested it being cleaned earlier and the front desk staff said they would do their best with a really impolite and passive aggressive attitude. On the third day, they clearly rushed the cleaning. No vacuuming, bathroom was dirty, table wasn’t cleaned. I called to complain and was told they’d put be through to housekeeping to request another cleaning later that day (we had waited already until 4pm!). I requested to speak to the manager on site to which I was told there was no manager on site. The front desk staff couldn’t understand why this was an issue. I requested a call back from the manager. No one ever called. No one really cared. I went downstairs that night to follow up. There was not even a note on the record about it. The service and the hotel is at its best a Holiday In. Category. I wouldn’t go back.

conveniently located, bed was comfortable, suitable for families with young children. only issue was the cleanliness of the room. Requested to clean up before heading out but by the time we were back after dinner/shopping, the room was not cleared. there was a dirty, spoiled comb found under the bed and when finally cleaned up, they placed the dirty comb on our luggage

We booked a last minute room for our 12 year anniversary and the kids came with us and we were blown away. Rooms were beautiful, spotless and had everything we needed. The staff were incredibly helpful and even delivered an anniversary surprise to our room. We can’t fault it! Thank you for such a wonderful stay

It's a bit lower than the 5 star review even though it is very new and nicely equipped. The daily housekeeping was particularly substandard. We stayed for 4 nights, and one day the hot chocolate packages were not replaced, another day the empty Kleenex box was not replaced, and the next day the used tea cups and saucers and the hand towel were not replaced, and even though the toilet paper roll was almost used up there were no additional rolls provided. These are pretty standard stuff in daily housekeeping.

Nice and new. Air con was tricky to get cold and the view over the tvnz satellite dishes isn't exactly great! Shower pressure could use an upgrade too. All minor things but the place is new

Lovely modern hotel with peaceful decor and really nice touches like the automatic night light that comes on when you get out of bed. The tv is the only glitch we had it kept disappearing so I ended up casting from my phone to watch the sports will definitely stay again.

Lovely quiet hotel room, despite its location on a busy central city street - there was zero noise from outside the hotel, nor from within the hotel itself. Very comfortable bed. Convenient parking at Sky City main carpark, for $35 (relatively inexpensive compared to other central city hotel parking options). Room was very clean and spacious. Room service menu was rather limited & the food was a bit on the bland side, but appreciated the room service amenity all the same.

Clean, unfortunately part of our stay was to watch the All Blacks game and Warriors game, the tv wouldnt work. Staff came quickly to reset, he said trouble with sky, as soon as he left it stopped working again, it was on and off all evening, informed reception when we checked out, apologized nothing else

I really enjoyed our second stay at Horizon, away from the busy vibes of Sky City. It feels intimate, luxurious, and personal with such a friendly staff. As soon as you step on the bridge from main building, you can relax, feel safe and calm, looking forward to your beautiful room and very comfortable bed.

I had an exceptional stay here. The service was outstanding and I truly felt safe and cared for. One morning I overslept because the bed was incredibly comfortable and had to rush out, leaving my iPad and valuables behind. When I returned, everything was perfectly clean and my bag was exactly where I left it. That really touched me — it showed how trustworthy and professional the staff are. This is definitely a place I would love to stay again.

Unable to check in at 1.30pm when we arrived. Told room not ready. Filled out all necessary paper work. Gave receptionest phone number at her request,she would ring us when room ready. We had free self parking in the Sky casino car park. Told by receptionest we could walk through Casino with our bags toget to the Hotel via sky bridge. Stopped by Security of Casino not allow to take our bags via Casino. 3pm went back to checkin. Had not been phoned by Receptionest. 3.05pm Room still not ready. Waited at 3.30pm room still not ready. Two minutes later called over by another receptionest Room now ready. Up at the room one of the Keys not working. No milk in fridge. TV not working.

Amazing stay! Miguel at concierge desk helped me locate documents that were left at the airport earlier in the morning. He went over and above to help me. So grateful for his help. I highly recommend this hotel. In addition the rooms were very accommodating and easy check-in. I rarely leave reviews but this hotel was outstanding!

Horizon by SkyCity is a wonderful hotel. The staff, from the front desk, housekeeping, porters and valet parking are incredible kind and so pleasant to interact with. The rooms are well appointed, and the bed is very comfortable. Shopping on Queens St. is close by; you can walk 6 minutes down the hill or, if you have a vehicle there are parking garages near Queens St. and Wellesley St. I would absolutely recommend this hotel. Final note, to out of towners, to turn your electric outlet on, flip the circular on/off switch directly above each outlet socket. Enjoy your stay at Horizon by SkyCity!

The Horizon hotel was lovely and new, with very comfortable rooms with all the amenities. I had a lovely stay. I did have to queue for both check in and check out, so would have been good to have more staff on, but otherwise can’t complain. Thank you :)

The hotel is nice and new, and rooms are super quiet which is perfect. Unsure if it’s the newness of the hotel, but the service really needs to be improved. Slow to check in, slow to check out, slow to add breakfast to my room and get seated. The numbers to in room dining weren’t working and the meal was cold. Hopefully the experience get more seamless

We liked crossing the sky bridge from the casino to the hotel. The staff were fantastic and we enjoyed our stay especially when I forgot one of my belongings and they went out of their way to locate it.

Great property within walking distance of many attractions, shopping and dining options. Most bus tours which originate from Sky City is directly across the street from the hotel, as is the Sky Tower, casino, the Civic Theatre, et al. The property is high end and the staff is kind, well trained, and very accommodating. The hotel's restaurant is very good. We had breakfast and dinnwr there. The city's Viaduct Harbor with all of its dining and shopping options are also in walking distance. Additionally, the is a hop on/off stop is in the next block, approximately 100 yards/meters from the hotel. We will go back, and highly recommend it for holiday, business travel, or weekend getaway.

Beautiful elliptical shaped luxury hi rise in Sky City where we could walk in comfort indoors to Weka Workshop and countless restaurants without going outside in the pouring rain. When the rain stopped we walk outside to everything else. My only complaint is the breakfast was buffet only so we went to a nearby hotel for a la carte. Otherwise great hotel!

The good:The room was styled nicely and spacious. I was welcomed as well as given a welcome gift. The hotel is in a very good location to be close to activities as well as restaurants. There is a bridge that will take you to their casino as well as the sky tower, restaurants and other activities. The bad: They give you the option to reuse towels and wash cloths. My used *wet* wash cloth was rolled and set atop an unused one. That did not make sense to me. I ordered a club sandwich from room service that was so awful in taste that I only had one bite. Not toasted, chicken no flavor, just not good. When the cleaning people came the next day, they cleaned and left the room service tray from the day before with the old sandwich. The good far outweighs the bad with this hotel, I would just think twice about the club sandwich.
