The elevator was out of service but I see later that was in the website. So that’s a temporary inconvenience. There is a freight elevator. The room that I was in was quite dark. There are windows but they are blocked by a concrete slab about 2 feet away. The staff was polite enough though I saw one of them being pretty impatient when someone asked about coffee. It was fine but for a four star hotel and the cost would never stay here again. There’s also a extra 30/day amenity fee, I guess that covers the free coffee and happy hour but if you don’t drink it’s not worth it. The room and the hotel smelled weird.

Second time at the Monaco and the hotel is ok for its price point (~100USD). It always feels like there is work being done and finishings are incomplete. (Peeling wallpaper, missing trimming) and one elevator is always out of order. Love the location of the place and room was also in good condition (the first room they set me up with had a dirty bathroom but they immediately updated it)

To start off self parking is a joke... you have to park in hotel next doors lot... you have to usee there elevator to get up to the floors but when you park you have to use the Stairs to get out as your room key does not work... you also have to pay each day by phone... I booked the executive suite.... the ac hardly worked we sweated each day and had stat set at 67. The roo.s has a musty smell... the door handles where falling off. The wall paper was dealing everywhere. If you use an electrical outlet it falls out of the wall exposing wires.... noise from outside on street is loud all night... Not a pleasant stay at all....

For the price, I would have expected the room to be pretty close to flawless. It appears there were patches to the ceiling in the bathroom and right outside the bathroom door. The grout and caulking had been repaired in the shower several times it appears and not very professionally. There was no coffee pot in room, but I did read they would bring me one. Why? Chances are they would have brought the maker but no coffee to go with. The faucet in the bathroom was super loose and also very little water pressure. Shower was also very little pressure. Valet is ULTRA expensive and only truly available certain hours, so if you’re visiting Denver and go out clubbing, I would Uber as your car would be left parked out front, potentially with a ticket on it. The complementary bourbon was well at best, and the next morning I noticed on a sign they are charging $8 a shot for it, also $8 for Bailey’s….FOR BAILEY’S….which is $35 at MAX a bottle! I could see it if they were employing a bartender MAYBE, but there wasn’t….it was the front desk clerk.

We love the Kimpton properties and have stayed in multiple cities, including this Denver location. This property is beginning to show its wear and tear, and could use a refresh. Only one elevator was working. The facility had a burst pipe so the base boards were torn up and drying fans (many, many) we placed around the floors. Chairs in the lobby were ripped up and rickety, and paint is needed in many spots. We were also less than impressed with the restaurant. I hope they make the effort to keep this property from going down hill. Location is excellent. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful.

Not as advertised or expected. No nice amenities in the room. No bathrobe, no mini bar, no steamer, no yoga mat no wireless speaker, all of which were available at other Kimpton locations. The room was not clean, the bathroom was in not clean and had a heavy mold smell. The air conditioning leaked onto the carpet causing a puddle on the floor. The lamp fixtures were all broken and would fade in and out when other things turned on. Just overall a bad experience. Not like other Kimpton properties I have stayed at.

Stayed 3 nights for my wife’s Birthday. Strong sewer smell when entering the lobby which I’ll attribute to apparent water issues a week earlier according to their sign. Check in was easy. The amenities listed on Hotels.com mentioned a spa on sight that hasn’t been there for 4 years. Room was nice but hot water was not working. They couldn’t switch rooms due to being booked up. Water was fixed within an hour or so by maintenance. A 75 dollar credit was added for the inconvenience. Room did smell like weed which it’s Colorado so guess not a shocker. I’m guessing there was a volleyball tournament downtown because the hotel was flooded with unaccompanied 14-15 year old girls that which traveled in packs up and down the hallways till about midnight the whole time. Valet parking is 59 a night which I thought was a little steep but there is a parking garage a half block away that is 24 a night. After check out I received my bill through email where I was charged for 3 nights of valet when we only used one. This was cleared up after a phone call and my card was credited. Guess to sum it up the stay was OK.

It's not such a great sign when one walks up to a property and the paint is peeling off of the exterior. Not a great first impression. The room and bathroom were cramped and in some need of touch up. One of the lights, in an already dim bathroom, was burned out and the room was musty and stale......could use better laundry soap for the linens possibly. Not a great value

I typically try to book a stay at a Kimpton in whichever city I travel to. I always enjoy the dog friendliness, the staff, happy hours, and rooms. Unfortunately this particular stay, the room was quite disappointing. It was very small and extremely dark. However, I will continue to be a loyal customer.

We enjoyed our stay for the most part. However our room faced the parking garage. We would get light and noise from the cars in the garage all day and night. It was also just ugly to look at. I wish the reservation would have indicated that. The room had really comfortable beds.

On previous stays at this hotel, the rooms were cute and had funky fun furnishings. On this stay, it was sterile and jail-like. Everything is gray and dull. I was moved (at my insistence) from the room next to the elevator, where the overhead lights were buzzing, to another room that shared an adjoining door. For three nights in a row, it sounded like I had unwelcome visitors standing in my room yelling at each other. Very loud, very disruptive. Even walking down the hall you can clearly hear people's discussions inside their rooms.

Incredible customer service. I wasn’t fond of the 4-6am noise coming from the alley in the mornings so Monaco may consider additional insulation but aside from that, our stay was great.

The original room I was given was awful, like a dungeon! Window was literally feet away from a parking garage, where if the shade was open, cars and people would be looking right into your window! And No sunlight at all. Buyers beware! However, I asked for a room change and was given a beautiful, spacious, comfy room.

The hotel was ok all around except for the location- half of the hotel faces a parking garage with an alley between. Garbage trucks come daily at 5:30am to empty dumpsters and the noise is atrocious and lasted up to an hour.

I stayed here a couple years ago and it was FABULOUS. This visit was mediocre at best. Any requests from the front desk for housekeeping or extra pillows or the like took HOURS. Dinner food from the hotel restaurant was great but extremely limited in availability and also took a long time. Breakfast was boring, lacked flavor and the potatoes were served cold. The morning front desk personnel were great but afternoon front desk workers had very poor attitudes. I noticed lots of stains in the hallways along with a strange smell and housekeeping left behind their used rags in my room after turndown service. For the price I expected much better.

Everyone working at the Denver Kimpton Monaco was extremely professional and friendly. Front desk people super nice and helpful. The manager was friendly and it was apparent his guests happiness and satisfaction was a priority. Special "shout out" to housekeeping!

Check-in was a mess. We arrived at 3 pm for check in. We were told our room was not ready due to no bed linens. To make the situation worst the Front Desk Attendant was rude about it. We were going to concert at Red Rock which runs a shuttle out of this hotel. The main and only reason for our stay at this hotel. We were told they would keep our bags in a storage room at the Front Desk. We were assured there was 24 hour Front Desk coverage and we would be able to retrieve our bags at anytime. Upon return from the Red Rock Concert the Front Desk attendant could not find the key to the storage room. He called a supervisor to help access the room. When the supervisor arrived, she was also unable to locate the key. We waited almost 2 hours. It’s now 2:15 am and we are finally able to access our bags.

Great experience overall. Staff was friendly, valet was fast, and rooms were private and clean. Only negative was the rooms were not ready for guests when they arrived. Check-in was at 3 and our room was not ready until 5. If I am paying for a room from 3pm to 12pm, I expect to have the room. That was 2 hours of a room we paid for with no access to.

The property was nice but there was a lot of issues with the staffing. We arrived at 2:45pm for a 3:00pm check in. We were told that because of a staffing issue they had to send the linens out to the laundry and weren’t expecting them back until 4:00pm. We were going to a concert and the bus was picking us up at 4:15 and had to get ready in the lobby bathroom along with a bunch of other people. Our luggage was stored and we went to the concert. I received a message at 5:30pm that the room was ready while we were at the concert. E arrived back at the hotel around 1:00am where there was a line of people who were not able to check in before because of the same issue and had to wait. Then they could not locate the key to the luggage room. It was a disaster with everyone upset. They called a supervisor and after some time they arrived and continued searching for the key. Around 2:45am they finally located it and let everyone get their luggage without even checking the bag tags mind you so it was a free for all. I work in the industry and this should not have been an issue. They should have had attic stock sheets and should have been prepared for a busy concert evening since they are the shuttle host hotel.

Nice hotel in a not so great area. Dirty & smelly outside, not the hotels fault. Tons of construction everywhere which was annoying as a tourist. I felt safe walking from train station area at night despite obvious homeless people around though. Room was perfect for 4 people, high ceilings and lots of space.

Hotel was right downtown. Parking paid for but easy and fast. People were very friendly and helpful. We ate at the Italian restaurant attached that evening and had delicious pizza. Only complaint was the bed was a little hard for us.

Very nice. I've been staying at this property whenever I can, for 20 years, since they used to provide goldfish upon request. I miss them, but I suppose there are ethical considerations. I was sad that Panzano was closed (only pizza take out) for the Memorial Day Holiday. I've had some amazing meals there and was looking forward to hanging at the Chef's Table. I was able to enjoy breakfast there, so it sort of made up for it. Breakfast chicken hash and coffee was great. Thanks for reading.

Great, beautiful room. Service was incredibly slow in the Panzano restaurant and there was a very unfriendly desk clerk, but the valet service, room service and cleanliness, as well as the details of the room were impeccable. We had to call several times to ask that it be made up, and for coffee for the coffee maker, but overall great. Not inexpensive, but lovely.

Great location in the centre of Denver, and quite beautifully appointed. The service in the restaurant was great, as was the food. The 'happy hour' rates for drinks and food was great value. The poor service/engagement of the check in was disappointing, we were not made to feel welcome. The lack of facilities in the room (no coffee/tea making ability, no ability to order room service, no clock) made this a very expensive stay. I expect more when I am paying nearly $600 USD a night for a hotel room, even in Denver.

Great location. Hotel is a touch dated, but was still a great option for 1 night in Denver. Small things: water pressure in shower was weak, the television should be updated - it was a struggle to use, they could add a bluetooth speaker to the rooms, the elevators need to be redone. Everyone was incredibly courteous and kind, loved the free wine hour from 5-6 pm and then also the free nightcap from 8-10 pm. Overall a good stay with a solid price to match.
