The breakfast and location is the best thing about this hotel. The hotel is very old and they have updated but our air conditioning unit was so loud and one elevator went down and it took forever to get an elevator. It was a very clean hotel. The valet parking is expensive as well.

I emailed customer service about this and never heard back and I don’t know the current state but one of the elevators was broken for all of our stay and it sounds like it was broken months leading up to our stay so there was only one elevator operable for a pretty busy hotel. We were staying on the ninth floor and we found that it was quicker to just take the stairs, but it was really exhausting and I noticed there were a lot of elderly guests as well who wouldn’t have that as an option so I really suggest putting resources and time into fixing and maintaining both elevators. Other than that, the staff was really kind and accommodating. The rooms were clean and updated and we enjoyed our stay.

Valet service $50 per night, terrible service was provided. The gentleman wasn’t able to look at me while talking. He had a mad face and an attitude when asked questions. It seems like he didn’t want to be there. It wasn’t welcoming at all. Other then that other staff were nice. Breakfast average. Clean room. Very good location.

I didn't like the Company Guarantee deposit of $300 during the check in , since they already have your credit card information, amount that will be credit to your account 5 days after checking out. Cockroaches visit in the dining room during breakfast serving.

Typically, the Hampton Inn is a good hotel. This location was OK, but had a few things that made our stay tedious. Unfortunately, one of the elevators was broken which made the wait extremely long. We were staying on the 10th floor and ended up using the stairs every time we needed to go down because we didn’t want to waste our time waiting for the only working elevator. The beds were comfortable and housekeeping did a wonderful job freshening up during the day. Our bathtub leaked and the shower spout diverter was broken so only half the water would come out of the shower. It also smelled like weed in the hallway on our floor, which was gross and nauseating. Thankfully, we didn’t spend too much time in the hotel so it didn’t impact our stay too much.

This hotel is undergoing renovation and the entrance is congested and the lobby is small for the number of guests this hotel allows. Looks like they are running full on booking due to competitive price and it is a crowded place. I have an uninvited guest when a cockroach flew from nowhere while having breakfast and he was having a free run in the extended reception area. They really need to work on cleanliness and pest control. Not a pleasant stay.

We stayed over here a couple of nights for tourism after coming from a business conference. The location is great - about a 20 minute walk to the D.C. mall and museums (or about a 5 min walk to the metro if preferred). Hotel is well kept, clean, fairly impressive free breakfast, and nice staff. Only minor gripe is that the A/C was a little loud but not not enough to really detract from overall experience. We would definitely consider coming back here for future trips to D.C.

Came here for 1 night. I forgot the gentlemans name that checked us in, but such a nice guy. Valet price is what it is, but the convenience was good, and the quickness how they did it was really appreciated. Room has been updated and very nice. Inwas close to the elevators, but really didn't hear anything.

Comfortable beds, nice bathroom. Good location. Only complaint is that the room was on the 2nd floor which made it easy to hear all the street noises.. lots of sirens in DC. Also the gym was next door and people exercising in the morning woke me up.

All employees at the check in desk and valet desk were very professional, helpful, and polite. I felt welcomed at the hotel. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. Capital One Arena was only two blocks away! Had a great stay at the Hampton. Would definitely recommend.

The front desk was not very friendly. My wife wanted the room cleaned but no one told us that you had to request it until it was too late in the day and the front desk said it was our fault for not requesting it. Never had a Hampton Inn so unfriendly.

Staff was EXCELLENT! Helped me with every issue i experienced, even while EXTREMELY busy. I was very impressed with their patience and continuing to have a positive attitude during the tough circumstances. Cons - small valet garage filled up quickly. - room did not have a pleasant smell, nor did the bath linens,, which were also dirty. - inability to access car without escort was odd, but understandable.

From the location to the staff this was an excellent choice. Valet is not cheap but well worth it to not have to worry about parking and the security of your vehicle. Front desk staff were also very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Definitely would stay here again.

Location was great for all the sightseeing you want to do. Close to the metro, union Station train station and capital one arena. Lots of restaurants in the area. Hotel was quiet and comfortable. Only thing was they were upgrading there lobby and had a portable check in counter and bar. The service was great and everyone was pleasant and easy to work with.

The property is a convenient walk down to the main museums, and there are a number of restaurants in the area. I don't like the sirens, but there is an engine company down the street, can't do much about that. This is far enough from Chinatown to appease those who have read all the negatives coming from that area.

Overall really enjoyed our stay at the Hampton Inn-Washington DC-Downtown--Convention Center. Convenient location just a few blocks from the Gallery Place/Chinatown Metro station, short walk to the Capital One center, walking distance to a number of restaurants, 15 minute walk to the National Mall area (National Gallery of Art-West). Clean facilities, great complimentary breakfast, comfortable and clean room. Would definitely consider staying there again in the future.

Friendly staff, basic buffet breakfast (boy's enjoyed waffle machine!). Good amenities. 20 minute walk to the Capitol. Few restaurants, coffee shop and supermarket within 10 minutes walk. Room had microwave and fridge. Our room suited our family of four - two queen beds. We were quite appalled by the amount of waste at breakfast - only plastic cutlery available, paper plates but no seperate bins for recycling.

The front desk customer service was poor- the guy was often abrupt. Breakfast: Is it normal to have the plates, cups, knifes, forks, spoons etc disposable? I have not seen that before. I thought that was particularly poor and I would not have thought a Hilton property would do that. On the first day it looked like the oranges and apples had been sitting there for days. A good enough variety offered but nothing special. Room: Standard. Basic. They could have put a couple bottles of water in the fridge. It was empty. Location: Perfect location. Proximity to all you would want to see. Very walkable. China town (run down with about at most 12 or so restaurants) is a 5-7 minute walk.
