My stay at Yotel Washington DC was a mix of highs and lows. First, the highs: The staff was excellent, friendly, helpful, and on point from check-in to housekeeping. Now, the lows: The room view isn’t much, mine was the Hyatt, seemed like others would be office buildings or the back of the NBC/Fox news studios, despite how it's advertised. They charge a $35/night resort fee for the pool, gym, Wi-Fi, and a $10 food credit, which might seem fair—except the pool is closed to guests (without an extra charge) on summer weekends from 3–9pm. That’s when the chaos kicks in. On weekend afternoons, the hotel turns into a party zone. The lobby gets packed, many guests half-dressed, and the elevator becomes an ordeal. Be very careful choosing this hotel in the summer. They use their rooftop pool as a dj club party that allows non guests to enter the hotel and use the amenities. You can join the party for a cover charge as a guest but if i’m already paying to stay that fee should be waived. This party unfortunately brought a half dressed, disrespectful, rowdy crowd. Not sure if it was hotel staff or the staff brought on by the pool party sponsor but they were extremely rude and clogged up the elevators. As the party finished up one night we heard gun shots and saw quite the horrific murder scene right in front of the hotel. Hotel failed to inform guests of the situation causing us to feel very unsafe. The cleanliness of the room was mid, found a weird sticker that I know did not come off of anything we brought with us in the bed sheets which tells me they were not changed between guests. I don’t recommend staying here, not worth the price or the PTSD

Decent place, clean. Parking is expensive, there is a facility charge that makes no sense, just adds to the total. Homeless dirtbags walking the streets, but I’m sure that’s all of DC these days. Pool is decent, bar up by the pool (on the roof) is nice. Feel like they are nickel and diming you on all the charges. Staff seems annoyed by the customers at front desk.

The lobby and room had a very modern look. However, the room lacked furniture for storing clothes and a wide desk for working. Light controls in the room looked modern but were not very intuitive. Garage Parking with in/out privileges was $60/day. The roof top looked very nice, but was closed for the season starting in October.

Stayed here with my whole family , the hotel was clean and in good condition , friendly and accommodating staff , great location , 8min walking distance to Union Station ( lots of restaurants to eat) and 15 mins walk to National mall . The only thing is the hotel has weird policy like coffee done serving after 10 am ( coffee machine is at the hotels hallway each floor and can’t have it after that ) and swimming pool closes at 9pm . When you want to relax after your long day at the museum/ national mall - you can’t access the pool since it closes early . Hope they change their hours , except for those it’s really a nice place to stay at.

The parking is pricey at $50 per night with in/out privileges. One of the main reasons I booked the hotel is for the roof top pool…well we could not use it because of a pool party that cost $40…that should have been something relayed as they lost the rooftop pool as an amenity

Great location. 10 minute walk from Union Station- Amtrak, and 15 minute walk to Capital One Arena, which is where I went to see a concert. Also walking distance to the National Mall. Room was clean; bed was very comfortable (liked the adjustable up and down feature), was easy to work in the lobby before my room was ready. Only minor negative is that there wasn't eateries nearby- walked a block to grab coffee and a bagel.

Disappointing Stay – YOTEL Boston Sets the Standard, DC Falls Short My friend and I traveled from Boston to DC for the first time, excited to stay at YOTEL based on its glowing reviews. Unfortunately, this location did not live up to expectations in any way. On our very first night, we were horrified to find a large cockroach right outside our room door. This is completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one that markets itself as modern and clean. While the staff did move us to another room on a different floor, the initial experience ruined any sense of comfort or trust. We didn’t even feel comfortable eating on the premises after that. To make matters worse, despite staying for three nights and placing the housekeeping sign on our door daily, our room was never cleaned—not once. This was particularly frustrating given that we were charged an additional cleaning fee as part of our stay. Paying extra for a service that was never provided is unacceptable. Coming from Boston, where the YOTEL is far superior in every way—cleanliness, service, and overall experience—we were shocked by how poorly this DC location compares. As first-time visitors to the city, this was a deeply disappointing experience that overshadowed what should have been a memorable trip. We cannot recommend this hotel.

We got there no one was at the front desk! We had to wait after we were given a double beds when I paid for king! Was then told they couldn’t do anything about that till morning which I thought was the only issue I would have on this trip but no!! That was the least of my worries! Got to the room to do our inspection and find bedbugs!! Representative at the front desk Mai didn’t act or look surprised by this news she just asked to see the bug and said we book through a third party so they will have to talk to them for us to get a refund. We went across the street to HYATT REGENCY they were so nice but that was an additional $300 a night when I had booked 3 nights at Yotel. According to Expedia. they still haven’t been able to get in contact with someone from the hotel to approve my refund. Worse experience eve

The room was clean but the rug needed to be cleaned as it had stains. The bathroom did not have hand towels or wash clothes. You have to use a bath towel to wash which is an inconvenience and to much work. The towels are thin and not long. No complementary toiletries. No microwave, refrigerator, cups or ice buckets.

Really unique and interesting room. Pretty small and the bathroom and shower does not have a closing door that locks. The bathroom and shower is in the same room as the room if that makes any sense. Regardless, it was nice. I shared the room with my partner and it felt weird using the bathroom since I know he can hear me LOL.

Room is roughly 10x30 ft. In order to make such a small space functional, the bed folds. When the bed is unfolded and in sleepsnlr position, there is roughly 2 ft to walk between the wall and bed. There are no overhead lights which makes the room feel small and dark.

The staff was friendly, & very accommodating when requesting more towels. However, When dropping our luggage off before checking in, we were told even if our room was ready we would have to pay an additional fee in order to get in early which I did not think was very tasteful. Our room was freezing cold and we could not get the thermostat to work so either had to have it on and cold or completely turn it off. We were unable to get the TV to work properly as well, so I had to stream from our phone. Therefore it was simple mediocre at best.

Door to toilet does not close all the way. Door to shower does tho, luckily. Awkward because theres no actual full bathroom to change in, but manageable. However, the door not closing all the way to use the toilet, leaving whoever uses it exposed is very unfortunate and awkward.

It was clean and modern in design. However the bathroom/ shower design was terrible. A slip and fall waiting to happen. I stayed with a friend for two nights and we had to use towels to mopup water in the bathroom after showers because the water went all over the bathroom floor as nothing separated it from the shower floor. Apart from that, I had minor complaints about things I could have overlooked, for example stingy with hangers ( just 4), only one trash can (in thr bathroom), unfamiliar light control panel (no instructions), and while there was complimentary coffee on the floor there was no tea. But the bathroom was a deal breaker. I would not stay there again.

I stayed with a friend for two nights and we had to use towels to mopup water in the bathroom after showers because the water went all over the bathroom floor as nothing separated it from the shower floor. Makalah at the front desk was super helpful with a room issue. She printed documents for me. She was super friendly and said hello / remembered me when I'd walk by. She was great. The breakfast looked the same every day but has a decent selection... maybe other bagel options would be good. Great stay. I keep coming back.

Employee(woman on 2/14) at the front desk upon check in extremely uninviting and rude. I receive TEN emails and texts about the ease of checking in at the kiosk. When we arrived, the line was through the door and there was one employee checking people in. All 5 kiosks were not working. I get it, things happen, but instead of saying "I'm sorry for the inconvenience" she said "can't you see they're frozen?" Made staying there such a turn off. There is a $30/ day "resort fee" which may be justified inn the summer w the pool, etc, but there are no amenities in the winter worth a "resort fee." The restaurant attached had tasty food, but way overpriced. Inn the morning, I lieder a regular coffee and a coffee w/baileys and the bill was $26.95!! And guests get a $10 voucher but it was never deducted from my bill. The bed was comfortable, new age-y w being able to adjust but I wouldn't recommend this hotel when there are 5 other hotels in a 1 minute vicinity

I had a few issues Calling to the front desk or housekeeping was always busy. I needed towels i used mine for a shower at night. Next day towels were still wet, i asked for towels and they never bring it to me. I waited for 45 min. I went to the corridor amd get it from the cleaning lady. Then when i was showering the conditioner was empty. I called again and they took a while. The people at the hotel were nice. But the people in the phone seems nice but they dont know things. I called to ask for my $29drink card and the lady gave me wrong information.. the service over the phone was really bad. Won't stay there again

Yotel is located conveniently next to EVERYTHING in DC and the wharf. And quick 10 minute uber ride and you are anywhere you need to be. The hotel is definitely for the minimalist as it is a boutique line. When you arrive, there are kiosk for you to check in yourself even assign yourself a room key. I was given a promotional email for a discount on early check in so I went to the front desk to check in. Unfortunately the front desk agent was very combative and even when seeing the email wouldn't honor it. I had to ask him to call his supervisor who honored the email and asked me to forward it to him to see. I booked the room thru expedia which I am a VIP booker. Another perk was getting 29 food credit instead of 10 since our first class room couldn't be upgraded. When I asked the rep for this also showing the email and said he had a list of VIP guest and I wasn't on it. I chose this hotel for my birthday for the rooftop pool and bar. The front desk agent notified me that the pool would be closing at 2 all weekend for a private pool party. (Keep in mind that regular check in is at 3.) he said the pool party was 40.00 without a wristband and if I grabbed a wrist band by 4 I would be good to get in free. We put our bags down and came down at 1 to get a wrist band. We were told by the company running the pool party that everyone was being misinformed. The pool party would be every weekend this summer and not open to hotel guest unless they purchase a wrist band.

Upon arrival the check in machine asked me to speak to a front of desk. The front of desk immediately said I’d done something wrong and argued with me. I hadn’t and they eventually sorted check in. I asked why I had been charged $1600 for a $700 fee, they explained but only after telling me that wasn’t the case until I showed them my Amex app with the charges listed. The TV turned on and wouldn’t turn off. I went to reception 4 times to sort this out. On the 4th time, and this was 1030pm at night, I was told I was giving them attitude. I wasn’t. They weren’t listening to the issue, just telling me it must be my fault. We had to take the tv power socket out eventually. They couldn’t fix this so they moved me rooms. It was an adjoining room and the noise from the room next door was unacceptable. Hairdryers for 30 minutes at 11pm, parents arguing, children crying. This happens I understand, but I don’t think I should have to hear this. I called ‘mission control’ no one answered. I didn’t feel like coming to my 3rd room for a 3 night stay so just put up with it with a pillow over my head. The staff wanted to argue, they didn’t listen, immediately assuming it was the guests fault. It was completely unacceptable hospitality. Please don’t stay here. The amenity fee is too much, I asked what it was for, pool, gym and coffee I was told. Coffee finishes at 10am, I went to the gym once, the room was very hot, I didn’t get time to visit the pool. For $90 I got 3 coffees.

The check in and out process is the worst process we’ve ever experienced at a hotel. They had only one person working the front desk & the side online self check in kiosks did not work. We got there right at check in time at 3 pm and we didn’t have a room ready until after 6pm. Would highly recommend not staying here if you have some place to be at a specific time as you will likely be late and not be able to check in on time. The parking payment system is also very poor. There is no accommodations for any inconveniences or delays there at YOTEL Washington DC.

I had such an amazing stay at Yotel DC, from the moment I checked in with Natavia. She was knowledgeable and efficient and made me immediately feel welcome. I was also helped by Dewan and Lolo throughout the weekend. Everyone on staff at the front desk was a complete professional. Likewise with the service staff at both the lobby bar and the pool area bar. Kerriann and Jane were both fast and friendly, and I enjoyed chatting with them! All in all, this was a great stay and I will stay here again next time I visit.

Clean and in a great location. Staff in the bar and restaurant were very nice and friendly. Staff at the check in desk and bell hop area seemed like they would rather be somewhere else. No one told us how to use our 10 food and beverage credit, so we missed the first one that needed to be used that evening. Just get rid of the $35 per night fee. This isnt the norm at most hotels and just feels like a scam. Raise the rate if u need more money. Saying it secures us benefits and giving a fraction back as a credit feels totally disingenuous. None of the staff even mentioned the credit or whatever the off site benefits might be, csuse they certainly didnt care about helping out. If booking the basic king room, u better be cozy with ur roommate. The toilet room lets all the sounds out and the shower just opens right up to the room so be ready to put on a show. The room is cruiseship size with no chair to watch tv in. The bed is powered and sits up, so that helps, but its too much time in a bed for me. The lighting was kinda cool but either too bright or too dim, could use a middle ground. If the 35 per night fee were removed, id prob stay there again, but id get a bigger room for sure, assuming the price point was comparable to other places.

Great location. 10 minute walk from Union Station- Amtrak, and 15 minute walk to Capital One Arena, which is where I went to see a concert. Also walking distance to the National Mall. Very comfortable bed, with crisp sheets, quiet air conditioning, tasty coffee machines on each level. Extremely pleasant staff and a great value. Restaurant had a wonderful breakfast. Not included but had a food credit that made it reasonable with a live violinist playing. We really enjoyed our stay.

By far this hotel is the best if you want to be right next to the Capital building and the National mall. Its so convenient to get to the union station to catch the big bus tour or trains. Since its close to the capital building there is security 24/7/365 which makes it quite safe. The hotel staff was very kind and friendly and was happy to help whenever you had any questions The only thing i didn’t like was the big crowds at the hotel. The hotel gets very busy during the weekends with the roof top pool parties which makes the lobby area, elevators and outside hotel extremely busy. I prefer things nice and quiet so it was a bit difficult for me. But if you like to feel like you are at a beach side resort in mexico or the Caribbean then this is the place for you..

Stayed here with my whole family , the hotel was clean and in good condition , friendly and accommodating staff , great location , 8min walking distance to Union Station ( lots of restaurants to eat) and 15 mins walk to National mall . The only thing is the hotel has weird policy like coffee done serving after 10 am ( coffee machine is at the hotels hallway each floor and can’t have it after that ) and swimming pool closes at 9pm . When you want to relax after your long day at the museum/ national mall - you can’t access the pool since it closes early . Hope they change their hours , except for those it’s really a nice place to stay at.

Checking in took a few minutes because the kiosj system was down but the front desk staff worked quickly in using the computer to check customers in. I appreciated the fact that the staff did not call out the room number but wrote in down. Rooms were clean, no smell. Only gripe we had was the water pressure in the shower. All in all, we enjoyed our stay.

This is my 5th time staying at this YOTEL. I book it for location, as I take Amtrak from NYC and walk over from Union Station. I only wish they had coffee makers in the room. They have some type of coffee service in the hall on each floor, but it's a horrible INSTANT coffee machine. NOT brewed. It's also only available from 8-11 am. I went to Walmart and purchased a $10 coffee maker for my room. They also do not have hand towels, which I found very annoying. Towels and facecloths only. The staff here are very good!

Friendly staff. The 18% added fee (this was not an automatic tip) to eat a (just ok) limited selection buffet breakfast. It was overpriced. Also the breakfast was supposedly included when the room was booked but when we arrived we were told it wasn’t. A shell game. Charged $34/day to use WiFi/pool/electricity(we were actually told that)/coffee machine/ice machine. No microwave or fridge (just a cooling box) in the room. One control for lights for entire room. No separate zones. Only option for a nightlight was a very bright color green that was from behind the TV directly in front of the bed.

My stay at Yotel DC was short but sweet. The room was well maintained and the staff were really helpful and accommodating. The bathroom in the room could use a few updates but other than that it was still very clean and served its purpose.
