When you enter the building, there is a staircase/escalator immediately in front of you to go down into a large open lobby. This was very difficult to navigate for someone with mobility issues and/or someone who is carrying a bunch of luggage. Parking on-site was $62 a night, which was not communicated on the site. There was cheaper parking around the block for $21 a night. There was no complimentary breakfast at the hotel, which I can understand, but there wasn't even any complimentary COFFEE. The buffet breakfast was not worth $22 a person and the line was 30 minutes every day.

It would be great if you had more smaller weights for women in the fitness center. We need 8s 10s and 12s. When I was there last, there was 1 5 pound weight. Some dude took the 10s to his treadmill. So three women were sharing one set of weights. Not great. You have tons on weights options for men. Doesn’t seem right!

Even though the lobby was being renovated the whole experience was amazing, reception staff are a credit, they let us have late check in and gave us bottles of water and a few things for my daughter. The pool was great, modern and certainly one of the best I had for a hotel. Rooms were modern, clean and a massive tv. Breakfast was ok, preferred pancakes but when I asked for them they said they couldn’t do them. Sausages were overcooked and hard, for what we paid $74 I don’t think it was worth it. Overall though a great experience and would certainly come back.

Despite construction happening in the hotel, all staff were super respectful and accommodating, keeping major work and construction to day hours when people would be awake or away from the hotel. Still some noise but at least it didn’t wake us up. Also much of the hotel area was still in use like the gym and pool to enjoy. Staff were super accommodating, provided free water during the extreme heat, and assessed repairs as needed. Would stay here again when the renovation is complete!

Lobby is under construction, I didn't see that noted anywhere during the reservation process. Upon checkin, I was charged an additional $27 destination fee and parking was $57 for one night. Not the end of the world, but I would have liked to understand these when booking.

Nice, clean and comfortable. Indoor pool was good. Union Station was a 6 minute walk and the DC Distributor Bus service was a few minutes away. Only criticism: the wifi was often unusable as it was too slow. This is inexcusable for a Hyatt. Invest in some better internet guys and you'll get a 5 star rating next time.

The location is very good; close to the capitol building, union station, and within about a half-hour walk to most of the museums and monuments. The lobby is very large and pretty, and was decorated nicely for Christmas. The pool is OK. It was rather cold, and there were no clean towels, but the space is nice and it has proper changerooms with showers available. I didn\'t realize when booking a room with two beds that the room had only double beds instead of queens, so it was rather tight for four people. Also, even though we kept requesting extra, housekeeping supplied us each day with supplies for only two people (towels, coffee cups, etc). Parking is so expensive, but it seems to be in line with other places in the area, so I guess there\'s not much to be done. The buffet breakfast was pretty good, and the staff were very nice. Same at the bar. We didn\'t eat lunch or dinner because the menu looks rather basic, and there are some other good options in the area. Overall, I was happy, but not "wowed". I\'d stay again at the right price, but I\'d also be willing to shop around and try somewhere else in the area. The pool was the main selling feature (not many other hotels in the area have a pool), but as I said, it was cold, so we only went in once.

Hotel room had a weird smell to it when I first walked in. There was dust on every light fixture in the room. There was a little hair in our sink. Amenities are nice, but the rooms need more attention with cleanliness and they need to be updated in general.

Rooms were extremely dusty. From the carpet to the furniture everything had a thick layer of visible dust. The mattresses were unbelievably lumpy and saggy and without any padding. The bathroom was cramped and strangely laid out.

This was an interesting stay. The hotel was in a great location. Our event was at Audi so it wasn’t that far at all. Ubers/Lyfts were never too far, and there was never really an issue booking one. The hotel was nice, the escalator was broken to go back up but they had an elevator that let out outside so it was not too big of an inconvenience. I felt fairly safe, you could not get up to any floors without a kew and there was always someone at the first desk. When it came to the rooms, they were decent, acceptable for the fact we wouldn’t be there often but the towels!!! They never had enough towels in the room. I just feel like if you have a room booked for 4 people, there should at least be enough for that many. We did have an incident where housekeeping made our bed with dirty/moldy sheets. We called to get our bed remade and the most they did was drop off the materials for us to make. And they only dropped off a fleece blanket and a top sheet. I had to go to the front desk to get them to bring us up fresh everything and to get it remade for us. They did it but I just feel like every time we called the front desk for something it was always a hassle to get it. Either we waited a long time for it or we had to go get it ourselves. We definitely tried our best to remain respectful but it just felt like we were an inconvenience to them.

We had a roach in our bed the first night and then they moved us to a new room and on the third night there was a roach crawling up the wall in that room. My parents also stayed in the hotel and they had ants in their room this place definitely needs an exterminator!

The beds weren't much bigger than twin beds. The bathroom was very small and didn't have a counter. It was a free-standing sink. There was nowhere to put your toiletries, make up, etc. The mattress was very hard, and very uncomfortable. The pillows were well 1 was too thin, and 2 was too thick. I didn't sleep well not one single night. Was there for a conference and they didn't serve tea. They would put cans of pop out for lunch, along with water and coffee and that's it. Only water the rest of the day.

The service was above and beyond. Courteous and professional and very friendly especially when you are traveling with. 3 year old. I honestly would have given 6 stars out of 5. Rooms very clean, functional with everything you would need. Location was good and most importantly they made the stay fun and comfortable. This is coming from aomeone who travels a lot of business. I would not even look for another next time I am in DC.

One of the nicest hotels we've ever stayed in. Facilities, restaurant, room, location were excellent. (walking distant to everything Washington).But what made this hotel stand out over the many, many that weve stayed in over the years (weve traveled all over the world, stayed in some of the finest hotels)were the employees. From bellman, to housekeeping, front desk, resturant servers the entire staff were most friendly, helpful and attentive. It was obvious they were happy in thier work and it showed. The concierge really knew DC and nailed excellent restaurant recommendations every meal. Dont stay anywhere else in Washington DC.

Location is great for walking around the city, and easy access to Union Station. Everything else was negative. Staff was rude to the point of being unwelcoming when we checked in. I walked up, smiled, and said "Hi, how are you?" and was cut off mid-sentence with a glare and barked "last name". I said thank you at the end and was met with a glare. We were charged extra for a high room with a view, and were on an interior facing room on the third floor. I didn't even want the view, so it was pretty annoying to be charged for it. The elevators were a disaster. They were partly broken, and every one was full by the time it got down to the third floor. It could take up to a half hour to get on an elevator going down. I tried to take the stairs, and you basically can't. The stairs force you to an emergency exit out the back of the building and do not go into the lobby at all. I found the best approach was to ride to the top of the building and then back down. There are no complimentary coffee stations, and what that means is that for the entire 11 story hotel, the only place to get coffee in the morning is the high price buffet, or the tiny Starbucks in the lobby gift shop. I went gift shop, and the lines, general chaos in the morning was about what you would expect in that situation. This was hands down the loudest hotel I have ever stayed in. The screaming, slamming, and banging went from 6am to 1am for the whole 5 days we were here. Earplugs and Advil PM did nothing.

I visited over the 4th of July weekend and appreciated the convenient walking distance to the National Mall for the fireworks show. The night shift worker was especially helpful and knowledgeable—he seemed to know more than the daytime staff. I did experience an issue with one of the restaurant workers (a shorter guy with long hair) who made an insensitive comment. However, once I brought it to the attention of the night shift worker, he handled the situation professionally and resolved it right away.

I was deeply disappointed in my stay at this property. The first room I checked into was unclean. It was clear that housekeeping had not cleaned the room. I had to call down to the front desk to request a new room. Once in the new room, the tv didn't work and there weren't enough towels for the number of guests staying for the night. Someone from engineering had to come to the room and fix the tv, making me late to my business meeting. I left to go to my meeting and was locked out of my room. The new room keys I received from management didn't work and I was locked out of my room. I had to go back to the front desk to get new keys in order to enter my room. Then, I ordered room service and the order was wrong. I was also overcharged for the items I ordered. This was a terrible stay and customer service experience.

I had to call the front desk three times and they were unhelpful and one was outright rude. The website did not mention the construction will be right above my room, with wall vibrating. It was a work trip and I had to do some work from the room which was impossible. The did mkt offer to change my room or offer a free drink, but they did send earplugs. Due to the timing I paid $475 a night fir a miserable stay.

I think this was the first time I've ever called the chain to thank them for hiring the person who checked me in. I hadn't planned on staying in DC and was disheveled and had no overnight kit with me. The staff projected next-level empathy and really put me at ease after a very tough day. I'll definitely be back on a planned trip this time so my wife and I can experience this hotel on purpose. Amazing location and the 11th floor restaurant / bar is phenomenal as well.

We have stayed at hundreds of hotels around the world, from high-end to budget, and the customer service at this hotel was without a doubt the worst we have experienced. The front desk staff need better training, in manners. They made a huge mistake with the billing which resulted in us being charged large international currency transfer fees but after 2 weeks of communications and wasted time over phone and email they have refused to apologize or explain what happened. I'd expect better from Hyatt and actually it was so bad I should probably escalate this to Hyatt headquarters.

I’m going to start with the bad because I was disappointed in my hotel choice. The hotel is not “walking distance” to any of the Smithsonian museums like it said in the other reviews, it was a 35 minute walk to get to the natural history museum. Part of the walk about 2 blocks immediately out the doors of the hotel was absolutely not family friendly at night time (unsafe). The staff was friendly and checking was quick and it was my wife’s birthday and they gave us some fruit and a dessert and some drink vouchers so I did really appreciate that! They deserve some recognition but it unfortunately does not make up for everything else. We ate at the bar area later in the evening and the food was good but the waitress was slow. The rooms are very dated, it’s fine if it fits your budget but they were very dated and basic.

This is a great hotel for the price. It is convenient to Union Station and the National Mall, so if you want to get to DC and be able to walk or use public transit, this is a great hotel for it. The staff are excellent, the rooms are nice, and they have little niceties for you that are small but make a difference: bottled water, popsicles for kids, things like that. The only drawback is there is very little dining for dinner close by, at least not if you do not like bars or pubs (e.g. if you are doing family travel). I ended up walking back to Union Station and getting food to go from the food court. But the Hotel can hardly help that. It is just DC in the evening.

The buffet was not very good in the morning. The reason is the way they serve it is with heavy cast iron pots and it was hard for me to lift it up and serve myself as there was nowhere to put the lid. The bacon was dried the eggs were dry it just was uneventful and sort of reminded me of Howard Johnson. The staff was friendly though but the tables lack salt and pepper and what kind of plain I don't know I found the whole thing a little dreary
