The staff was exceptionally friendly, helpful and accommodating. The room was very clean. I didn’t realize when I booked my room. It came with a kitchen. It was incredibly well equipped. I used the fitness center and that was nice. Overall, it was a great value for the price. The room, the amenities, the fitness center, business center, and, safe in the room,provided all that one could ask for. The location was also great.

I enjoyed my stay here, and would stay again if I were in DC. The hotel is in a very nice area, with plenty of nearby restaurants. It can be a bit confusing at first, there are two buildings, with different entrances on different streets. Once you get used to the layout it all makes sense though. The room was large and clean! The bath was well appointed and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel was quiet. The furniture is a bit dated, but was good quality. That’s really the only negative, though it didn’t bother me at all. I only mention it in case it is something that matters to the reader. Finally, the staff was friendly and helpful, especially the bell staff, they really went above expectations at times.

PROS: The front desk staff were very nice. The room was very clean and spacious- it even had a kitchen. The cafe is convenient as there isn't much around there to walk to. There is a CVS and liquor store right next store. CONS: I didn't know the parking was $50.00 a day. I wish they had been up front about that. Between the ubers and the parking, I would have been better off paying a little more and just staying at a hotel closer to the attractions and restaurants. Also, the service in the Cafe was HORRENDOUS. There were 3 people serving about 6 tables and they kept forgetting stuff and disappearing. Absolutely awful. The food is average.

Pro- nice place, with rooms like an air b&b suite. Only a few blocks walk to whole foods, CVS, multiple dining options, and the foggy bottom metro station. Con - no pool, a couple minor maintenance issues with bathroom fixtures. It has 2 lobbies one on E street one on F street both with the same address so it confuses uber drivers for pickup/drop off, you need to use the specific address

great location, quiet. Loved the spaciousness in the room and that the bathroom bedroom and kitchen were separate. The bed was comfy. I was a bit disappointed about the dining and gym being closed for repair. I normally choose a hotel with gym for a quick daily work out and would have loved to be able to have a quite bite to eat before heading out for the day. Staff is great and very friendly. All in all, I will likely stay again!

Hotel was clean and quiet. "On site" parking was a very few spaces, which were filled and we were sent to a nearby parking garage with poorly written instructions/map and inaccurate pricing information. We had difficulty retrieving our car as the garage was closed and reentry was cumbersome. A guy working on the street informed us how to enter (indicating that people are constantly confused). The kitchenette was nice. It's a comfortable stay. Cozy overall.

Beyond disappointed for the amount of money I spent. The bed was very uncomfortable It was like sleeping on a piece of wood with a piece of foam overtop, I go into the kitchen area and there are mouse droppings all over the floor.

Very bad experience. This was my second stay at the hotel, and unfortunately, it was very different from the first. I would not return. The hotel is old, with carpeting throughout most of the floor, which creates a strong musty, outdated smell. Although the room was ready when I arrived, it was not clean. It smelled like food— even the sheets— and there were bits of seasoned rice on the chair and floor. When I reported the issue, the manager on duty was completely disrespectful. I didn’t push the matter further because I had to leave for a work meeting, but the situation definitely warranted escalation. The only positive aspect is the location. However, for the price, there are many newer and better-maintained options nearby. This hotel is in urgent need of renovation, both in terms of its facilities and the staff’s customer service training. A real shame.

Bathroom was nasty, the toilet didn’t flush, the shower didn’t drain. I refused to use the shower and wore shoes in the bathroom. There is mold and mildew and i had an allergic reaction to the mold.

Overall location is fantastic , very walkable to White House area. The Air Con is not that powerful and in summers it’s a big issue. The bathtub drainage is not that good as the water starts to clog in seconds of shower. Overall Beds were decent and the rooms were very spacious.

My air conditioning did not work the whole time I was there. Adjusting the thermostat did not turn on the AC, it took me a day to figure out that I had to turn on the AC at the wall unit (this is an ANCIENT system), then the useless fan ran and ran, but it did not cool. The front desk staff offered no compensation when I reported it at check out, they just said sorry and they would have the maintenance staff look at it.

It was great, except they never followed up with the wifi issue. I called the help desk provider and nothing came of it. We couldn't connect to the internet on any laptop. We had to use our phone hotspots to work remotely.

The hotel has two buildings at the addresses of 2116 and 2117. The 2116 building is very noisy, with some kind of machine generates large noises. I had to use ear plugs to sleep but they did not mitigate much.

Very convenient location for GW families. Room was very spacious, with a well equipped kitchenette. The room and property is a bit drab, with dark rugs, but generally comfortable. The pillows are very thick, and no alternative pillows are available, leaving me with a stiff neck each morning. The tub did not drain properly and I requested that maintenance take a look. Same issue the next day, water up to my ankles during a quick shower, so I guess they couldn't fix it. Staff was generally nice, however despite the fact that I requested a late check out and was told I could only have an additional half hour because they were very busy (this was enough for me), at 12:19 I received a call from the operations manager telling me that check out was at noon and I was late checking out. Once she allowed me to speak I explained that I had asked for a late check out and was given 30 minutes. She said that she had checked with the front desk and found no notes and had told staff not to allow any late check outs that day, implying that I was lying, then telling me I had 10 minutes to leave the room or she would charge me a late fee. As I was preparing to leave by 12:30 anyway, I grabbed my items and went to check out. I confirmed with the lady working the front that she had indeed given me a late check out. There honestly wasn't a need to threaten a charge or imply I was lying. Comfortable room, great location for me, but not sure if I'd stay there again.

We were immediately greated at check in by a sweet soul named "Jesse." We were informed about the room, parking and given floor options to better accommodate my elderly mother. Then, it was "Cesar" who put the icing on the cake with help with parking and help to our room. With staff like this, you will always have repeat guests.

Room is literally a one bedroom apt. Very spacious with kitchen and living room. Giving only 4 after bc the room service personnel came into our room twice without knocking...and not to clean the room. Very startling!

Really enjoyed our stay at the State Plaza Hotel. The rooms were spacious and very well maintained, with comfortable beds. The staff was helpful, and the location was very convenient for us. It’s only a few blocks from the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument. Strongly recommended.

I’ve stayed at the State Plaza many times. The hotel is located in the Foggy Bottom area. A short walk to the monuments on the edge of GWU’s campus. The area is less crowded, convenient and safe feeling. The rooms are huge and comfortable. Everything is very clean, although I find the bathrooms may need a little touching up. Not a renovation, but just some aging that needs attention. The staff are always very nice and helpful. They have a paid underground secure self parking available.

Walkable to everything- The Mall, The Kennedy Center, George Washington University student union. Take the metro from Dulles airport and it’s an easy 15 min walk with rolling luggage. No need to rent a car. Safe at night, great for families or solo travelers.

Great place for affordable price! It’s an apartment.. full kitchen, spacious, comfortable bed, fluffy pillows, the best hot shower with strong water pressure. We walked from here to all of the monuments and memorials. The food downstairs was delicious and fresh!! All the staff from the front desk, to the cafe and even the parking assistant were friendly and helpful.

Location great for touring monuments. Loved room amenities, especially the kitchen and bathroom location. Doorman gave great directions and made sure cab was waiting for us. Restaurant convenient, but overpriced. Would happily stay again.

The room was large, kitchen was a plus. Bed was nice and pillows were plentiful. Air conditioner worked wonderfully, as it was extremely hot outside. Parking could have been better, I had to park in the GW Garage. Please remember to bring your parking ticket with you or you may not get back in. The restaurant on site was a nice touch, but the food was bland.
