Loved everything about this property from the interesting history to the beautiful pool and spa. Comfortable, large rooms and bathrooms, enjoyed all the extra attention to detail. One of the best workout facilities in a hotel. The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable.

How tall is amazing. The staff was very friendly and was reliable. They would text me to check me if I needed anything on a regular basis and I love that. The room was beautiful and they continue to keep it clean the entire time. Breakfast room service was great. I wish that we could self park instead of valet parking to save money. But the staff for valet was great and quickly got our car every single time.

First time staying at the Watergate and it was an enjoyable experience. Unfortunately the pool was cold, hottub not working and sauna also not working. While we received a $100 credit, the reason for selecting the hotel on this trip was for those amenities. Very high quality service, wonderful staff, and great location!

Was really nice, but found a cockroach in our room. They left cleaning Supplies and sheets on the ground in our room, when we had do not disturb on. They did compensate $100 for a restaurant, which was pretty nice. Also balcony door did not open/work.

We had high hopes with our stay at the Watergate being one of DC’s 5 star hotels. The valet staff who greeted us were very helpful. The front desk staff was mostly mumbling through the details during our check in process and I wasn’t able to get a map for the city when I requested one. One day we returned to find someone else’s old, dirty hair brush on the desk in our room. I tried to bring that to housekeeping’s attention and wasn’t able to run into one housekeeping staff who can speak English for our entire multiple nights stay. Other than one day, we never return to the hotel room with ice in the ice bucket and couldn’t locate an ice dispenser. We found food crumps in between the mattress and the night stand that were very easily observable. One of the usb slots between the beds is so loose it barely holds the plug in, while the other slot just doesn’t work. The electric plug area behind desk was covered with a thick layer of dust while we plugged our laptop in. Used robe on floor and toiletries were not replaced. Trash can was placed on top of toilet. During checkout, I went to the front desk to notify them of my departure time and the time to retrieve my car, but was told I should call from room instead. I returned to room to find the phone doesn’t work. I have to borrow a phone from housekeeping working in another room to call the front desk. Car returned with a light scratch. This stay fell short of my expectations from a 5 star hotel in an international city.

I booked the hotel for the indoor pool for my kids. It was very cold (supposed to be heated), sauna and jacuzzi were out of service which was not made known at the time of booking. TV in the room kept turning off every 10-15 minutes for no reason. Stains on carpet, toilet made a dripping noise all night, bathtub stopper didn’t work. Room service never answered the phone after 15 minutes of trying. Had to go to front desk to place order. I’ve stayed at other 5 star hotels and the Watergate hotel was not up to those standards.

The room was decent. The under sheets were definitely stained, the carpet was soaked right at the entry way and the tub was broken. The tub was ultimately fixed. Parking over night is quite expensive and the "resort fee"in my opinion is over rated considering I never used anything in the hotel but the room yet was charged for a resort fee. Other that that the view was amazing and the hotel, though aging, is still nice

Our experience fell far short of expectations, leaving us deeply dissatisfied with the quality of service provided by your team. Causing unnecessary stress and inconvenience right from the start. Furthermore, the condition of the hotel room itself was unsatisfactory. The decor in the rooms featured old rugs that emitted a terrible odor, completely at odds with the luxurious atmosphere expected from a supposedly premium establishment. The exorbitant price I paid for my stay was simply not justified by the lackluster standards observed throughout the property. Amenities in the room were very nice quality, slippers, loofah, and toiletries. I was overcharged for car parking on check out when they asked if I had any extras. Hotel refunded it right away but my overseas bank took an extra procedure fee as a result of this misunderstanding. Room was a suite but the hallway between had no light. View was excellent.

Upon arriving our room was not ready until after 6pm. We were told we could wait on the roof top bar which is full sun. Once we were in the room we had issues with the bathroom shower flooding so we were moved. The next room had a non-functional air conditioning unit so we were moved again. We received a $150 credit for our troubles. One night the power for the whole hotel went out for 15 minutes. With uber the location is good. The entire front desk staff needs to be fired and start over. Hotel had a lot of potential but was really a hot mess. Valet staff were excellent!

Upon arrival to the hotel I was immediately urged to pay more to upgrade my room. I was already content with the room I had booked so I refused. After the front desk insisted 3 times I told them I would consider it if I could get a room with a hot tub. The front desk staff said she could do that for me for an up charge if 150 extra per night so I agreed. I get to the room and there was no hot tub so I go back down to tell them that it wasn’t what I paid for and I want my initial room back. She denied me that chance by telling me all the rooms were booked even tho I had just switched the room. That one problem made me miss several appointments trying to reconcile this. I was very disappointed that I was lied to several times in an attempt just to charge me more.

The service was LACKING to say the least. Restaurant host on a break so a person with a handful of cotton candy finally summoned a waiter to seat us (9PM on a Friday, 3 tables in the restaurant); room NOT cleaned at all by 6PM one day - took another 40 minutes to get someone there; requested additional towels and pillows via email prior to arrival- not there; was our anniversary and made hotel aware - mot even a note; requested museum suggestions from concierge prior to arrival- never replied; huge leak in lobby 2 times during our stay; HUGE cockroach in gym while i was changing; area around hotel but on property, run down; people staying in hotel with pets letting their animals relieve themselves in the front lawn under the sign that said NO PETS ON GRASS. As bad as all this was, Front Office Director Yarisa Almodovar was a STAND OUT problem solver and by far then shining beacon of hope in our weekend- the reason we left happy in the end. Sad because the property has such history and could be a FAB time capsule camp decor property that people WANT to stay in.

Only first day I noticed after showering that the water started leaking out of the shower causing a pool a of water. I notified the front desk immediately who then contacted maintenance to fix the shower leak. 24 hours later my shower was not fixed. I had to contact the front again to ask what is going on. They sent maintenance up to my room again to look at the leak. He came to look and didn’t return for an hour. I contacted the front again to ask what is going on which is when they offered to move me. I had to repack my things and move to another room which had a smell of mildew. I bought my own air freshener and left the patio door open because I was so tired of moving around. I was not compensated for the inconvenience at all. It was almost as if they just said ok well things happen which I totally understand but at the same time it’s about giving people outstanding customer service when running a business.

The property is dated. The front desk and operator do not answer the phone. The service is terrible. And it took us twenty minutes to get the car from the valet. We had tried to call before we left the room but, like the night before, the front desk didn’t pick up the phone. This was a very disappointing stay.

The incredible customer experience from the doorman to the front desk to the parking attendants. This was one of the best "service" experiences I have ever had. Class act and will surely stay at the Watergate again. Says a lot about the management, the hiring, the training and the focus they have on service as their number one priority.

We arrived and they told us the room we reserved was not available. The alternative was not ready by check-in either. They couldn’t explain why they gave our room to someone else. They said they would move us the following night, but we didn’t want to move again once we unpacked, so we stayed, until we came back to find maintenance guys in our room, because the a/c was leaking from our room into the carpet/floor and they had to put a high powered loud fan on the floor and fix a/c, but couldn’t do it right away, so we had to move to another room. They said we would get a two bedroom suite river view for our inconvenience by the time we came back from dinner. When we got back, they gave us a new key, we got in the room and it was not what they said, but the same type of room we didn’t order and not river view. We had to go over to our other room and move our stuff over. They had offered $40/day as apology, but didn’t tell us it was $40 each person until we checked out. So we didn’t end up using the $. The cleaning people did a nice job everyday. But there were things in one room and not the other. Like no face cloths in the second room the first night. No sugar with the coffee machine. No body wash. So mixed service and mixed amenities. The hotel is a tiny bit tired as well.

I checked out earlier than my original reservation and was told to contact the hotel back for a refund for the rest of the nights. When I called, the hotel person said that they would ask their manager and get back to me by email. However, they never gotten back to me and have not been helpful when I tried to call them again. This hotel was in a great location for us to see lots of DC. The hotel was very comfortable, very pretty and the staff was super friendly. I would stay here again. The roof top patio should be visited each day also to see the sun set.

So, I've wanted to stay here for awhile so I had a quick solo trip and proceeded to book. I checked in late (after 10 pm) . The first issue is they are doing major renovations. Your Uber can't pull into the main circle leading up to the hotel entrance. U have to be let out on the street and walk up to the hotel with no signage and its dark! I prepaid for a room with a tub. The room they gave me was super small and no tub or view. They apologized and said for 20 dollars more a day I can upgrade which was ridiculous. I went to the new room which did have a tub and partial view. She also gave me a late check out for the inconvenience. On to the next day... I went to the bar and had a mimosa and it was 20 dollars... The indoor pool option & jacquzzi was amazing! However they literally only had 4 lounge chairs. I thought about a massage.. starting price was 280 for 30 minutes! I wanted to go to the rooftop for pics and but was closed. Came down for dinner around 9:40 and the restaurant was closed! It closed at 9. I complained b/c they told me it would be open until 10. The manager had the chef make me a burger and fries for 50 dollars. Final morning wanted room service for breakfast... 75 dollars for 2 eggs, potatoes and toast! Finally, the hotel is dead. No activity, no food and far from everything. Be prepared to pay ridiculous prices for food, drinks and anything else! Customer service was great but won't stay here again!!

Over all my husband & I had a great stay. The property was beautiful and the staff are friendly. The rooftop bar is not open till midnight, even though the hours on the website say so. Had dinner at kingbird, unfortunately my ribeye was full of gristle.

I truly enjoyed our stay at the Watergate. I've driven by many times bc the little rock service station on the corner was where my grandfather had his first job. Makes me feel close to him. The staff was great. The rooms were great. My only complaint was that there was no food when we got back from seeing the National symphony at 10:30pm. Everyone was closed including room service. I had to door dash. I would've spent my money on the Watergate food if it would've been available.

no ice machine - had to request ice when needed. Being from Texas - I like steak and eggs for breakfast - how can you be out of STEAK???? $25 for pancakes???
