Sonesta Simply Suites Clearwater St Petersburg

This hotel was good for the money. The elevator was still out of service but, their website wasn't updated to reflect that. Upon arrival they didn't offer to assist with my luggage to the third floor. There is a bit of an odor in the halls. The room/ stair doors are quite loud but I find that in every hotel. Everything else was great. The room was clean, the kitchenette was perfect. The shower was hot with great water pressure. I'll use this hotel again for future trips.

Very nice property! Clean, new and lots of privacy. Ample parking and courteous staff.

check in was easy. Room is on the darker side, so a little dreary. Room was great set up with bedroom, living room and kitchen. desk/table. There was a lot of outside noise if one opened the window. Guests were quiet. Pool was right next to parking lot. It would be better if there were bushes around the pool, or a separating wall to allow one to have privacy. With all the road noise, not a relaxing environment. Location very central, We went to Clearwater beach. This took about 22 to 35 minutes depending on the time of day you went. On some days we went into St. Pete or Tampa to go to Cultural events.

Pictures when booking looked nothing like the actual room. Pool was tiny, garbage overflowing in the laundry room.

Clean and well equipt apartment. All the utilities needed. The only down side is the laundry facilities are unavailable if you don't have a US phone number.

Checking in was smooth with friendly staff. The room was mostly clean, a little dusty in spots but overall nice and roomy. I was disappointed that the exercise room was being renovated and I couldn’t use it.

Not maintained. Pool seemed like an afterthought

The hotel is definitely a budget hotel. Has a pool and gym but neither are enticing. Gym equipment needs maintenance and pool is in the parking lot. While the rooms are standard hotel rooms with kitchenette and large desk area, the cleanliness is really what is lacking here. There is no daily housekeeping. They inly clean 1 time per week or when you check out. The rooms need a deep cleaning. Everything is "wiped" down but there are streaks and stuck on dirt. You can exchange the towels but you have to find someone working on the floor because the instructions they give (put your towel sign on the door by 9am) doesnt get the job done. This is my second stay, different rooms, same concerns. This stay was actually more expensive than last month.

It was a ok stay except my refrigerator was dirty and still had food in it!!! Uuurggg!!! The lady in the lobby desk had to come up and clean it but I was bugged out and it still felt dirty.. It messed up my time away

The hotel itself is functional. Room is comfortable with a small kitchenette ( 2 burners, full size fridge, microwave and dishwasher)and an ample desk area. Hotel has a very small gym and a laundry room. Pool (did not use) small standard hotel pool. Staff was very nice. Housekeeping only comes 1 time per week. They do exchange your towels if you ask. No trash service, you must take it out to the trah bins at the end of the hall. If you leave it outside of your room they fine you. My room was relatively clean but not the kitchen area. It had tons of drips and splatters on the cabinets and fridge. Microwave was also a bit dirty. I mentioned it to a Housekeeping lady that was in the hallway but Im not sire she fully understood me. Price point is very good.

Nothing unique about the property. Our room was adequate. The service people we came into contact with were pleasant The carpet needs a good cleaning or refreshing. It had a smell in the room and public areas. Otherwise it was an ok stay.

The pics make it look better than actually is. Carpets and hardwoods dirty! My bare feet were black after 1hour of walking on them. It is dog friendly but for us not traveling with dogs, it was frustrating to hear dogs barking thru the night.

Room was not cleaned well! Hair was everywhere. Staff nice. Location was fair.

The property is not as listed or advertised. Very dirty and carpets and facility were disgusting. Roaches in the room and terrible smell.

When I walked into my room it smelled like mildew. Upon setting my things down and getting ready to shower, I realized they only gave me one towel when it’s 2 adults listed on the reservation so I had to go back downstairs and ask the front desk for towels. Setting my things down in the bathroom to shower and I realized the toilet is dirty “ fecal matter on toilet seat” , there’s hair all on the toilet seat as well. There’s poop residue on the toilet. After cleaning the bathroom I shower quickly and get out to look through my bag and I spot something on the floor , as I look closer I realize it’s a dead roach. The carpet is wet so that’s where the smell of mildew is coming from. The sheets and blankets are dirty. I will never stay here again. It’s pure disgusting

Nice room with kitchenette and dishwasher etc. Big bathroom and closet. Clean hallway and stairs, elevator works well. Room only had one chair, a desk chair. 2nd floor hallway had some uneven/soft spots under the carpet (subfloor?) which they should fix.

This was just a quick overnight stay after a late flight arrival. Check in was quick and friendly. The overall cleanliness of the room was fine. There were two issues however. The mattress in this single bedded room has obviously seen its day. It was very uneven and had deep furrows in it. This was absolutely uncomfortable and did not provide for a restful night. The other caveat was the display on the air conditioning unit and the push buttons for settings were inoperable. The digital display was unreadable. Save for the aforementioned, the property was convenient for the purpose of my stay.

The person working at the desk was very nice & welcoming. I like my room and it is a good size. I also liked the kitchenette.

Room was a mix of nice and trash. Like they ran out of money in midst of renovation. Nice bed and bedding. Picture accurate of nice cabinets, but rest if furniture looked like it was used and donated. Also not well cleaned. (Systems isn't working to download pictures

I needed a room with a kitchenette while visiting my father, who lives in a nursing home in Largo. The Sonesta Simply Suites accommodations met all my needs. It was clean, comfortable and in my price range. The pool was a nice bonus!

The hotel was adequate but there rarely is someone at the front desk.

Front registration desk attendant was friendly and helpful.

Excellent service from Trisha! She went above and beyond, and we really appreciate it. A small suggestion: it would be great to have an extra folding chair in the closet so two people can sit down for dinner together. Finally, We will definitely make this our first option the next time we're in the area.

It took us over an hour to even be checked in because they did not have a room. And the guy had to call the manager and she told me there was nothing they could do and I couldn’t cancel with them because it was through Expedia. So then I had to call Expedia. In that process they found a room that had just done maintenance work done in it and it fit what we needed. So in the end it all worked out. But over an hour with a grumpy husband and 3 kids. It was NOT. A great experience.

amy was the counter person in charge we got in a mlittle early so there were no ready for at least a couple hours so we waited while amy got the cleaning staff to hustle it up so instead of posably two hour wait yurned in to a half an hour all the while kept us informed witt a big smile smile on her fase she was awsom under presure made it a great stay even it was only one nite thank you for having a great staff keep it up dont let any get away especialy amy.

I got locked out of my room because the door locked itself from the inside. We were patient and left to to get something to eat and came back 2hrs later and we still weren’t able to access our room. The front desk attendant let us know prior to us leaving to get food that they had been having this issue with multiple rooms recently. They even tried to jimmy the room door open with a rubber band and some tape! Saying that the person who usually fixes this for them isn’t there today! Anyway, when they hadn’t got the door open after 2hrs, they tried to insinuate that this was my fault somehow because I didn’t pull the latch all the way back before I closed my door….I let the front desk attendant know that this was unacceptable.They made no effort to accommodate me, made no attempt to get me another room and offered to open up their conference room for us to sit in instead. Unacceptable.I was understandably frustrated and needed compensation since I paid to be in this room and couldn’t use it. She let me know that the GM would be there in the morning and I could speak to her about that then. So I left the property AGAIN. An hour later I get a call from a woman telling me she was the general manager. This woman let me know that they had to call the maintenance man in and pay him to open my room door.That they couldn’t compensate because I paid through Expedia.I asked her how her paying someone she employs has anything to do with me.Poor customer service and you’ll be locked out.

Well located and easy to access from Tampa Airport

I did not feel safe at this property. Left right after checking in.

It was a nice place, close to the PIE airport.

Staff ere professional, rooms were adequate, and overall service was great. Other than the fact it was in a sketchy part of town. Woke up at 5am to the sheriffs department banging on the door bc of a report of a woman getting beat to death on the second floor. Not a good way to start the morning but it is what it is. Police searched the room, found nothing and went door to door. Opened the window for some fresh air and had guys outside smoking pot blasting music. It’s a sketchy neighborhood in St Pete but it is what it is. Lock your doors and don’t talk to anyone.

Location of the hotel is very convenient. It is easy to reach.

The property is pretty outdated, but it’s clean, and the beds are comfortable. We were just staying one night, and chose this property to be close to the airport. I’d stay here again.

Loved having the ability to cook, that saved a lot of money from eating out. Bed was really comfortable.

No restaurant within walking distance. No ice machines.

I liked how we had a kitchenette, kitchen on demand, great location near market, restaurants and airport.

Nice size room with kitchen and utensils suppled. Drip coffee maker, but no coffee provided. Nice laundry which has coffee, seating and is attached to gym. Laundry requires app download to use machines with $10 minimum in the app.

Everything we needed, little kitchen, good access to city. Clean pet friendly good value

The room was great. The beds were so comfortable and the bathroom was extremely clean. I felt very safe at the hotel. The only negative is the hotel is renovating the lobby and there was no breakfast or even morning coffee to enjoy!

I like the popcorn machine but it was empty most times. Also would have like breakfast

The staff were kind and professional, and they answered any questions I had. My only point to add is that the coffee is in the laundry and gym room. I would like to suggest that it be placed somewhere in the main entry area as a welcoming offer to the guest. I was there for four days, and I only found out about it when I was using the gym one day. Other than that, I look forward to returning soon.
