Colony Hotel & Cabaña Club

The property is a Historic Building with lots of character. The lobby rooms are extensive with a bar and a great front porch where music is played on weekends. Our room was clean and comfortable. There is an awesome pool offsite that can be used; it is right on the ocean with changing rooms.

The beach club makes this hotel a really great deal! Note that the beach club does not appear to have a liquor license. (People mostly brought their own.) The historical hotel itself is located in the very walkable Downtown district and is surrounded by a great assortment of restaurants. The hotel has a very laid back vibe. The only real quirk is the window a/c units in this vintage building. Some folks love the white noise when they are sleeping. Others are bothered by it. For the record, this was about our tenth stay here. We love the hotel with all of its vintage quirks!

Great bar, excellent cleanliness throughout. Very nice cabana lunch. Breakfast needs improvement and gym needs more space, perhaps the sitting room off the main ballroom.

I liked the Cabana club. I didn't like the room that was designated as the fitness center. It was a tiny room with sad, old equipment. Our room had a sink in the sleeping area, not in the bathroom, which was a bit peculiar. The lighting in the hotel was terrible. But the staff was helpful and our bed was comfortable. The location was great.

Colony Hotel is in a great location - easy walk to the beach and all the restaurants. There is a comfortable front porch to sit and enjoy a drink or read. Breakfast is continental and basic, they do not have a restaurant. Free shuttle to the country club with private beach and pool with free umbrellas and chairs provided

The location is great, but the property is old and lacks modern amenities and in-room comforts. Wall A/C unit was noisy and didn’t really cool the room down. Pool and beach club are offsite and will require an uber- front desk claimed it was a 40 minute walk….no way. Shuttle runs every few hours there but stops conveniently at 4pm which is when check-in is. There is no bar or restaurant and the pool and beach club either which would’ve been nice for the front desk staff to tell us. Overall, this was just an OK stay. It served our purpose of staying the night to meet friends in Delray. However, I will probably opt for a chain hotel next time.

Vintage hotel with vintage charm, but lacked modern conveniences ie, bathroom fans, usb ports, limited electric outlets. Limited handicap accessibility due to stairs to enter Pros: friendly staff, laundry facilities, bar service after 4:00, continental breakfast/coffee in mornings, on strip with easy walking to bars/restaurants and a lovely veranda with bistro table and music on weekends.

On the negative side, this historic hotel itself is a bit shabby and the lobby is dark. The poorly trained front desk staff member who checked us in neglected to tell me that they offer a really nice breakfast gratis every morning with home made muffins. On the positive side, the rooms are nice and the beach club, located two miles from the hotel, is wonderful. It has an enormous pool, a lovely open air restaurant and is right on the beautiful Delray beach. Also, it is delightfully quiet with no pumped in music or cell phone conversations allowed. Overall, I’d say the hotel is a real find as the prices are reasonable, parking is gratis, breakfast is excellent and the hotel offers a shuttle to its beach property if you don’t want to drive. We definitely plan to visit again!

The property is in a great location; you can walk to stores, restaurants, bars, and art galleries. The room was clean and quiet. Parking was behind the hotel. The pool is not on sight, but a short drive away. It is great; the good sized pool is on the ocean surrounded by palm trees. There is a bar there, changing area and easy parking.

Great stay! Rooms were clean and comfortable, staff were lovely and the history was beautiful. The property is very well kept and close to everything. We stayed at 4 hotels during our trip and this was my partner and I’s favourite.

I’m very disappointed because reviews were so good. First room had a huge roach, second room AC wasn’t working. 3rd room let’s see…. Not happy with my experience so far

The hotel was cool in the fact it was historic. However the staff seemed distant. My remote was disgusting

Parking was easy and secure, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff is exceptional. I cannot speak highly enough about the service and level of care every member has shown during our visit.

Such a great stay at the Colony Hotel! Room was clean and inviting. The pool at the Cabana Clus was great too, very relaxing.

The building is super old and wonderful, making it difficult to upgrade I'm sure. But the window unit a/c was extremely loud, making it hard to sleep when you're not used to those units.

This was a nice quaint historic hotel. However, the room we received was extremely loud and we did not get much sleep. You could hear every car motorcycle that recedes their engine, which was all night nonstop. This has nothing to do with the management, simply the position of the property. The bed was harder then I like. Just be aware if you get put in 102 or 101 you’re gonna be at the noisiest part of the hotel, you might wanna be moved if noise bother you. The staff was impeccable.

My son has recently moved to this area of Florida, we have been to this hotel 4 x in less than a year. It's truly a hidden gem! The beds are so comfortable, we sleep great when we go there. Beach club has the nicest staff and the lunch served there is basic but delicious! The last time we were there though there was a problem with the air conditioning, (they are window air conditioners). They kept stopping , we would have to unplug it and plug it back in. We did report it when leaving Room 214! Otherwise , we never had a problem. Perfect location with free parking! Give it a try!

The property is quite old, but really charming. The bed was excellent, shower decent. Very welcoming lobby and front porch for evening drinks and music on Friday night. Lobby bar nominally priced. Convenient parking. The beach club is a couple of miles away, but a nice beach location.

The best is access to the Cabana Club. The worst is the window AC was very loud.

I picked the hotel for its location and the location is the best you can walk everywhere access to the beach club was very nice .negative is also its beauty wood floors are very noisy you hear everytie someone walks upstairs and very poor lighting in the room except for the bathroom

I had 2 future bookings which I have cancelled and will not return to this hotel. We visit Delray Beach 4-5 times during the winter and was hoping this may be our regular place to stay. Charging the $250 has lost this owner a potential $4000 in business. Perhaps they do not care as the hotel is probably booked in high season.

The cabana club pool and beach were both excellent. Loved the live music on the weekend. And the location is fantastic. The rooms need an update.

Nice old hotel with a historic swanky vibe. Excellent location, easy to walk around town, cozy bar with night time music on the porch. Rooms are small but part of the old charm. Bath is updated while keeping the old charm. Ride to the beach club was easy, and the club/pool/beach were excellent.

We loved this hotel! It’s almost 100 years old & close to everything! It was very quiet & absolutely beautiful! The staff was so friendly & helpful! We had a wonderful time!

Great location, hotel fixtures were a little old but obvs known with it being a historic site. Hotel check in didn't listen, I asked to not have my room number announced and he announced it 2x

We have been staying at this hotel for many years, always pleasant staff, they even upgraded us to a nicer lighter room, provided cooler for our convenience. They were always so pleasant and with the smile. Will come back again.

Our Holiday Stay, was absolutely amazing the staff from the time we checked in to the time we checked out was kind and helpful. It rained the whole time we were in Delray Beach, but the Colony Hotel, had breakfast, a lovely bar, live music and the best front patio view in town. The Colony is situated right in the middle of downtown Delray Beach close to everything. We look forward to our next stay at the Colony Hotel!

Place is extremely dated. Front desk employee could care less about guests. Completely disorganized and has limited grasp of English language. This hotels website is very misleading. This place must have been very nice in the 1920s and 1930s but not in the last 60 plus years

The hotel is a great value! I would only recommend that the staff make sure to tell guests about the option to use the Cabana Club at the beach. We assumed the pool was on property, bt were told it was offsite. We had to look into finding out about the shuttle service offered. This should be staff telling us about the option.

Staff made a joke about my attire. Not cool. Other wise excellent experience. All of the other staff was excellent

Absolute perfect location in delray. Hotel is cool older place, well maintained, great vibe, and the staff is amazing. The private beach club puts the place way over the top for me.

Location, location, location. Fantastic place to watch Atlantic Ave activities in both am w coffee and at night with beverage and live entertainment. Bartender super sweet. Such a cool vibe. Was there with son and girlfriend and it worked for the 24-54 yr olds in the group! Nice beach facilities. Pool looked nice. Lots of people were there enjoying lunch on a Saturday as regular club members. Wish I knew about this sooner! Will be back.

The property is in a great location - you can walk to all the restaurants, shops, etc. Love sitting on the porch listening to music and people watching. The Continental breakfast was yummy and just enough. The only downside is there is no pool at the property, you have to drive to another property for the pool.

Beautiful hotel in downtown Delray loved everything about it

Stayed there for three nights over the weekend. It is a very charming old hotel. It being old was in no way a negative. Having access to their beach club (2 miles away) was definitely a huge bonus. The best part of the hotel is its location. It is right in the middle of Atlantic Ave with endless options of restaurants/bars and other things to do.

We were very disappointed when arriving after a long flight that there was no pool at the property after seeing all the online pics.Hotel is indeed old looking. that being said was the cleanest place we have ever stayed.Room was large with a great bed and large bathroom.Beware, floor very slippery when wet and ladies remove all jewerly when showering ,drain had no cover it could swallow a large toe.Room cleaning service was the BEST with daily cleaning and fresh towels.Breakfast was absymal, there is no restaurant at this hotel.Our biggest gripe was all the pics of this great pool but no mention of it being 2 miles away.They do provide a shuttle every 2 hours,We drove and parking was no problem.Cabana club served lunch with great food but only from noon till 230.Pool was large and beach front.Location of hotel was great, right downtown next to bars shopping and reatuarants,So a very very old but super clean hotel with no onsite pool,in a great location with a poor breakfast and an after thought fitness room.I want to give this place a higher rating for the service and care,but the pool pics were misleading and were a bring down from what we had expected.Now that I know what to expect we still might stay again,the room care and location were the best. Oh and the hotel bar only opened at 4 pm and there was no bar at the pool,but we brought our own.Again super clean with large rooms in a old hotel with a great location but no pool onsite.

Older place with lots of charm and well maintained. Right in the thick of Atlantic Ave yet quiet inside. Breakfast is very basic and a HH at the bar and terrace would have been nice but overall a great weekend getaway.

Location is fantastic, rooms are clean, and parking is free. Lack of a fridge in the room is my biggest complaint since I prefer to have my own snacks and drinks. Also the morning breakfast is cold cereal and fruit which isn’t a great way to start the day. I order a hot breakfast from a nearby restaurant and ate on the hotel front porch area.
