The internet wasn’t the greatest. I couldn’t look certain things up until I got outside of hotel. For breakfast the sausage and gravy was on but the eggs were not good. There needs to be homemade not store bought frozen . Everything else was good

Overall the stay was ok. We brought our dog and the grass was very long and with the rain there was standing water everywhere. The window in our room leaked and rain was dripping everywhere. Our bags got wet along with the chair and floor. The pool was freezing. We were unable to get in it.

Didn't end up staying, we were there MAYBE 30 minutes and went somewhere else. I just felt very uneasy there. I didn't like the location. Our toilet didn't flush. The pool was too cold, even for my 7 year old. Overall, just not a comfortable environment. (Did not request a refund, just accepted my loss and left!)

Hotel pool shut down but wasn't told untill check in. Lost 50 dollar deposit, staff said a sheet had a small blue and red dot on it. I feel that was completely made up. I think I should have at least my deposit refunded, because it was a bad experience from the check in

This hotel's front parking lot is under construction or reparation. it is big enough to have been repaired in two phases. one side first, and leave the other for guests. It was a terrible experience to have to park on the dusty terrain and have to go around the parking walking on the dusty grass carrying your luggage. The lobby was messy, but it is understandable due to the construction work right is front of the entrance

Front manager was great. Upset customer in front of me checking in. She kept her calm and tried her best to make things better (not right, better) for the customer who had used a 3rd party booking site to book. Super friendly with the customer and me. Very professional. Room was ok. Smelled like popcorn. Not bad, just not what I want to smell. Bathtub was dirty. Shower curtain had stains on it. Tub corners had dirt. And hair above the shower rod. Bed was comfy.

Although I love lady bugs, I just don't want to sleep with them per se. Now don't get me wrong management offered to move us to a different room I was just too tired. It was an average hotel and the breakfast was gross. Potatoes they had were cold and the weird egg concoction was not to our liking. The management team were very nice people though. Would I stay again? No

The room had a musty/rotten smell. There was a hole in the wall by the bathtub with mold. Leaving the room the final time i teipped over the carpet at the door threshold...that was held down with a paper clamp

When we arrived the Lady at the front desk was really nice. She did complain to us about the Hotel and how horrible the pay was and how limited they are with staff. They only have one lady that does the cleaning and pretty much 3 other workers running this place. Breakfast was extremely limited. Pretty much you had your choice of cereal, orange juice, bagels and coffee. Once we went to the room, there was a weird smell in the hallway and in the room. Cleanliness is definitely not a thing for them. There was hair in the bathroom, socks hanging in the closet, urine in the toilet, bathtub looked like it had not been scrubbed ever it was just horrible. We had to go buy flip flops just to shower. Parking was okay.

I arrived at 7PM and my room was checked in. I went to my room and the door was opened. I hollered out to see if someone was in the room. I did not get response so I went in and my room was not ready. The hotel set me up with another room and when I went into the bathroom it was filthy. The toilet seat had urine all over it and on the floor by the toilet. When I say all over the toilet seat, I mean it looked like a man went to use the bathroom and sprayed urine all over the toilet seat. The room had stains on the desk chair, the ceiling looked like it had water damage, and the front desk floor area had dirt all over it. The breakfast was nothing to write home about especially the overly raw bacon that was served and the breakfast area was a mess with no staff around to clean up. As were checking out, they tried over charging for my room saying that a handicap accessible room should be more. My son-in-law showed them the booking information and they still were trying to say their price was right. They ended up refunding the difference but not without trying to overcharge me. Not impressed with this place and will not stay their again.

Pleasant stay. Room was quiet and can be darkened so you get the sleep you need. Serves hot breakfast, didn’t see the indoor pool being used by anyone. Service is friendly. Hotel is more business focused than family focused since not much within walking distance to do/see.

The woman who checked us in was very nice and when we asked for a room on the back side of the hotel because my husband has trouble sleeping, she put us in a room that was on the 3rd floor, far from the elevator and on the back side of the hotel. Perfect sleeping there! Hotel is easy to get to, very clean and nice soft beds.

There was no night light which caused a safety concern. The bathroom light would have been sufficient, except it shut off automatically after 10 or so minutes. Parking was good and breakfast was ok. Staff was not very friendly.

Staff friendly but difficult to understand. Mirror was not clean at all. Grass needed mowed. We were in 208 right by the elevator. It opened and closed all night and was the noisiest elevator ever. I went into the hall because I thought someone was slamming their door over and over. We got very little sleep.

The check in was horrible. I reserved 4 rooms to pay at the property. I asked the lady at the front desk if we could pay separate and she said yes but only separated 1 room and charged my card for the other 3. We checked in at 7pm and 1 room was not ready, my room was dirty, the shower curtain was gross. The front check in was dirty with dirt all over the floor. The pool area seemed well kept at least. Breakfast was alright except for the bacon that was severely undercooked and no one around to keep things whipped up and clean. Went to check out and they tried over charging me for a room. Spent a half an hour trying to explaining to the front desk and even showed him my phone with the reservation and still tried to tell me the room should be more. They finally refunded me the money. Not a great experience and would not stay there again.

This has to be one of the friendliest hotel reception areas ever! Staff is so kind and helpful! Very clean and well maintained. This is definitely at the top of my list for Ottumwa Hotels.

When I say all over the toilet seat, I mean it looked like a man went to use the bathroom and sprayed urine all over the toilet seat. The room had stains on the desk chair, the ceiling looked like it had water damage, and the front desk floor area had dirt all over it. The breakfast was nothing to write home about especially the overly raw bacon that was served and the breakfast area was a mess with no staff around to clean up. As were checking out, they tried over charging for my room saying that a handicap accessible room should be more. My son-in-law showed them the booking information and they still were trying to say their price was right. They ended up refunding the difference but not without trying to overcharge me. Not impressed with this place and will not stay their again.

The fire alarms went off multiple times later at night twice while my children and I were asleep. Due to someone cooking food and setting them off. The woman who checked us in was very nice and when we asked for a room on the back side of the hotel because my husband has trouble sleeping, she put us in a room that was on the 3rd floor, far from the elevator and on the back side of the hotel. Perfect sleeping there! Hotel is easy to get to, very clean and nice soft beds.

It turned out to be very quiet even though there were two or three bus loads of teenagers on a sports related trip. It is just across the street from two very nice eating establishments.

Didn't end up staying, we were there MAYBE 30 minutes and went somewhere else. I just felt very uneasy there. I didn't like the location. Our toilet didn't flush. The pool was too cold, even for my 7 year old. Overall, just not a comfortable environment. (Did not request a refund, just accepted my loss and left!)

Although I love lady bugs, I just don't want to sleep with them per se. Now don't get me wrong management offered to move us to a different room I was just too tired. It was an average hotel and the breakfast was gross. Potatoes they had were cold and the weird egg concoction was not to our liking. The management team were very nice people though. The internet wasn’t the greatest. I couldn’t look certain things up until I got outside of hotel. For breakfast the sausage and gravy was on but the eggs were not good. There needs to be homemade not store bought frozen . Everything else was good

The check in was horrible. I reserved 4 rooms to pay at the property. I asked the lady at the front desk if we could pay separate and she said yes but only separated 1 room and charged my card for the other 3. We checked in at 7pm and 1 room was not ready, my room was dirty, the shower curtain was gross. The front check in was dirty with dirt all over the floor. The pool area seemed well kept at least. Breakfast was alright except for the bacon that was severely undercooked and no one around to keep things whipped up and clean. Went to check out and they tried over charging me for a room. Spent a half an hour trying to explaining to the front desk and even showed him my phone with the reservation and still tried to tell me the room should be more. They finally refunded me the money. Not a great experience and would not stay there again.

The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept on. I had a 2 day reservation and the clerk deactivated the key cards after 1 night. Not a big deal but very inconvenient. The breakfast food was absolutely horrible. Sugar free syrup for the waffle was gross and the uncooked or microwave bacon could absolutely get someone sick. I could go on and on. Would NOT recommend this hole to anyone.

We booked a room for the night because we had just got married. The hotel was nice and the rooms were clean. We didn’t eat breakfast but noticed they had fresh fruit which is always a plus.
