not very up to date a lot of broken amenities spa & sauna not working. seemed the hotel needed updating bathroom fan not working lights not working in room and in pool house. indoor pool somewhat cold for winter use. overall not very impressed with the property due to to lack of upkeep.

This property is old but in good condition. We had fairly new rug in our room. Only downside was there wasn’t an elevator and there were many steps to our room. They should hire a strong guy to have available for us elderly folks.

This is a great hotel, the breakfast was awesome and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hot tub was closed when we were there and that was a bummer, but everything else was good. Spacious room and nice amenities.

Pool and spa were broken down. Exterior windows were filthy. Fan for room heater could not be run continuously. Cycled on and off all night. Curtains in room were torn. No elevator. Would not recommend this hotel (definitely not a resort by any means).

All rooms face the lake. The location is next to the park and a very short walk to downtown. The staff is always friendly. The pool and hot tub are indoors and warm year round.

Somebody left us a surprise in the toilet. The bed sheets weren’t clean and full of someone else’s hair. There were cobwebs everywhere including all kinds of dead small and large mosquito eaters. The fridge was not clean, we found old moldy cheese and turkey someone left in there not to mention a large pink drink that spilled and dried all over. The staff was very nice but I will never stay there again. Especially because we paid over $300 for one night.

The hotel was very old and smelled very bad. The carpet was nasty and dirty. There was no elevator to the room and we had to climb stairs (my wife and I are in our mid 60’s with bad knees). My wife got nauseated from the smell after just an hour and we actually had to leave the hotel, and stay at another hotel in town. The hotel looked very little if at all like the pictures on the internet. We felt like the website was very deceiving. Perhaps the worst hotel we have ever stayed at.

Room was not very clean. A teeth floss cleaner, and a piece of trash were on the carpet near the A/C unit. Otherwise room was clean. Upstairs people were very loud. Lots of stomping and running heard. Staff very friendly and nice. Made reservations for a future visit. Very disappointed the restaurant was closed. Hot tub and pool very nice.

We enjoyed our stay overall and the lakeview is lovely even in the off season with the snowy mountains. Unfortunately one of the 2 queen beds was quite broken down in rm 218. We enjoyed the pool, but it needs an update along with the hot tub. There were clumps of long hair floating in the pool so I don't know if that was from the day or two before, but it was gross. The sauna was out of service as well. Love the location and that its dog friendly. I'd say we will be back, but I hope the pool has been cleaned.

Great location and staff. The hotel itself is old and run down, no upkeep has been done for a long time and not on top of cleanliness. The worst beds, so old and uncomfortable. Pool was green and was still open for the first half of our stay. Then they decided to close it. Housekeeping only available upon request.

The pictures make the property look better than it is. Our door was not set correctly, it had 1 inch of light shining through. The bathroom you had to get in shower to shut the door. Definitely was not as “exquisite” as they claim. I won’t ever stay again

This is an old hotel that needs updating. It doesn't have an elevator so you have to carry your luggage up and down stairs. The room was comfortable and clean but did need new curtains and drapes. We really enjoyed the small deck and the view. This would be a great location for a young family since it has a park, a sandy beach, and a swimming area. The lady at the breakfast bar was really nice and helpful.

I loved the property. It was a bit aged and antique-ie as far as decorated. It was right on the water and my view from the balcony was so beautiful, especially during sunrise. It was very clean and safe. Staff was great. Everything within walking distance. My only complaint is the PAPER THIN walls. You can hear EVERYTHING. I felt like someone was going to the bathroom beside me with the door open. Showers from other rooms were also crazy loud. I had to work early and felt so guilty for showering at 530 am. I can’t imagine what it would be like with loud children or crying babies.

Older building & out dated. Trains continuously pass beside the hotel. The room we got was on the end of the building. 1st evening was extremely noisy. Tolerated the inconsiderate guests above. Had only 4-5 hrs sleep each night of our stay. Later found out that there were unsupervised children above us the 2nd evening. Called the Front desk & complained several times, but the noise continued into the night. There was nothing done about it. The night desk staff were unapologetic & seemed to favour the offending guests. At 1 point , the employee said the noisy guests have just as much rights. We found their attitude to be completely unacceptable. Incompetent staff & Poor value for the amount of money spent. Had a better stay at motel 6! We are never staying at this hotel again. Get more rest sleeping in our car. Local area is good. Too bad there aren’t more hotels around.

Definitely a little beat up for almost $200 per night. But it is a really nice location walkable to downtown and city beach. We had a first floor room that had a walk out sliding door to the lake. Made me feel really guilty for not bringing the dog, would be perfect for that. The room was nice and clean but the beds were not very comfortable.

House keeping, desk, person who was in charge of breakfast were all incredibly sweet and helpful. I know bldg will be torn down in August and understand since there is no elevator or AC in halls. I hope the new owners have as nice a staff as this one since they made up for any renovations needed,

The staff were very friendly and helpful which is so nice when traveling with young kids. The hotel was clean but there was some leaking in the dining area. The pool was so much fun and needed with the kids but the hot tub was very hot, so we were in and out of pool to cool off. I would recommend this hotel to others and would stay again!

We had a very mixed experience. The property and where it’s located is awesome! Our view of the lake was better than pictured! However, one of the beds in our room had very wet sheets under the comforter, so wet, the mattress was wet - really weird! Because we booked with a third party (hotels.com) they would not discount our room, and were slow to fix it, that was super disappointing!

Fantastic place to stay. If you travel Amtrak, the property is only yards away and walkable. Right on the beach and walking distance to all things downtown. Sandpoint is a very friendly place and it a convenient place to vacation at. Swim, fish, boat or just relax. If we had young kids, this place would be great.

The hotel is nice, clean and comfortable with friendly and helpful stuff. Parking is convenient and the restaurant on site has a large variety of good food. What makes this hotel different though is the amazing view of the lake with the mountains as backdrop from every room and the proximity to town.

The lady running the breakfast area definitely could use some help or re training. She was very kind so im not trying to dog on her but she carried several handfuls worth of fruits from stomach up. Balanceing all of it with her chin. The breakfast options are already basically nothing . The fruit would have been nice but no way after seeing that .

This hotel is a bit tired and rundown...though considering its age, still in pretty good shape....destined to be torn down in the near future. The bed was not so comfortable. The breakfast was quite decent. We did enjoy the lake view from the 3rd floor room.

I love this place but this time I was very disappointed. The pool and hot tub were not usable due to a repair that needed made and after spending a half hour trying to order from the restaurant we were informed that they were closed possibly permanently. However, there are many good points that make this somewhere I will return. Next time I’ll just make sure that the pool and hot tub are working before I make the reservations.
