Really nice lobby with bar and food service. Parking was either expensive or difficult to find. I recommend downloading the iparkit app to help you find the nearest parking garage. Room overall was okay to sleep in. They do charge a $100 non refundable cleaning fee and $25 per night for dogs. I thought the cleaning fee was pricey especially since my dog doesn't/didn't make a mess.

Room not cleaned on our second day despite asking. The bathroom was the smallest I have ever seen in a hotel. No free wifi for non Bonvoy members says it all. Not the W I expected!

Come on W, at this level of hotel, just offer free wifi and put a coffee maker in the room. Don't nickel and dime us making us become a points member just to get wifi. It's already expensive enough. Otherwise it's fine.

The breakfast is a coupon for 50usd that cannot really order anything,this hotel level is not equal to the service they offered.,now 2024 not complementary wifi ,other cities in the world now offer wifi even on public or open areas ,this hotel just nothing to offered at the level of other hotel, The reviews from other are true,unfortunately the location and brand name make me choose and was a regret.

As a Marriot member I was so disappointed with my stay. I chose to book despite reading negative reviews we enjoy historic buildings. While the lobby is lovely, the historic details are worth exploring, and our rooms were actually actually quite sizable, our complaints include the absolute poor, downright rude front desk staff, and the cleanliness-our room had urine in the toilet when we arrived and despite reporting this is was never cleaned. The whole experience makes me question my loyalty programming

Hotel was great but the people on my floor were extremely loud. Running and yelling all night. Barely got any sleep on Saturday night. Also room smelled like smoke when I got there. I thought it was smoke free? Also trash was not taken out before my arrival.

I don’t feel as though this property is worth the money. Our stay was fine but the room looked like they just went in a put everything from the last guest back in its place. My pillows were dirty and the sheets were stained. The bathroom was okay but could have been better. The customer service was good though. I was happy I didn’t have to stay more than one night. I feel like you’re literally just paying for the nice lobby and bar at the entrance.

The location is excellent. It is within walking distance to the Sears Tower. The lobby looks like a million dollars. It is reasonably quiet considering hotel’s central location. The only downside is lack of a closet in our room. There was no place to hang clothes. But overall we were happy with it. The service staff was very friendly.

The bed was super comfy. The rooms are quite small and the bathroom is tiny! The place is in need of some updating for sure, but we weren’t there to hang out in our room. It was perfect for what we needed. It was very warm in the room, and we couldn’t adjust the temp lower than 65, so we just opened the window a bit. The front desk staff was very friendly. No complaints at all. Again, it was perfect for what we needed.

Overall, I was satisfied with my stay. What I was not happy with was the clerk that check me in. I had asked for two queens or two double beds and she lied to me saying that they were all sold out. When she was having problems with the computer another rep stepped in and ask me what type of room I wanted. He told me that they had double rooms available.

Misleading Promises & Poor Customer Support – Be Warned I stayed at the Midland Hotel in Chicago from June 13 to June 15, 2025. My original reservation was for three nights, but I had to check out one day early due to an unexpected change in schedule. I informed the front desk in advance and asked if the unused third night (June 15–16) could be refunded. I was explicitly told by the front desk staff that a refund was possible, and they would process it. However, no refund was issued. When I contacted the hotel after noticing the full charge on my credit card, they backtracked and claimed that early check-out refunds are “not possible.” This is blatant dishonesty and a clear case of miscommunication or false assurance by the hotel staff. If a hotel makes verbal commitments and then completely ignores them — that is a serious breach of trust. As a frequent international traveler and a loyal Marriott Bonvoy member, I expected transparency and professionalism. Instead, I was met with false promises and poor accountability.

i was trying to have my significant other , check in early. But was told couldnt happen needed to be registered. It was not until my third call, that the worker, melloni took the initiative to assist me, and took care of that. I was given the run around and put on a long hold the first two times. I will not be recommending this place to any collegues or organizations. In addition no one came out for the parking, and no directives. I will not be staying here again, Let it alone recommend it to anyone.

I booked a stay nonrefundable. I understood the consequences if I cancelled, but it fit my expectations. At the last minute, a family member decided to join me. So, through Hotels.com, I contacted the hotel asking for a waiver of the cancellation fee because I wanted a larger, more expensive room. The front desk supervisor agreed to waive the cancellation fee for the room booking as soon as I booked the larger room. BUT THEY DIDN'T DO IT. Their lie got a second room booking out of me without without waiving the cancellation fee for the first booking. If they had refused my request to waive, I'd have made different arrangements for my son. I mistakenly trusted them. Stay elsewhere.

I tripped over a rolled up carpet in the entryway and fell hard. I was hurt, looked up to see the bartender (the bar is just inside the entryway) looking at me yet he never made a move to help. Keep in mind that this was at approximately 2pm and there were no customers at the bar. As I lay there, finally an exiting customer did stop and ask if I was ok….then an employee from the salon next to the entrance came out and did the same, nothing from a hotel employee. Once I was able to get up, I sat on the bench for a moment to compose myself…still nothing from a hotel employee. I have two broken ribs as a result of the fall. I made the decision not to stay at a hotel that employs those that show no sense of humanity. I found great accommodations a short distance away at the Hilton Chicago.

This property is in a very safe area, I did not feel unsafe at all walking around it! Great restaurants near by and nice shopping. A little far from the river and Millennium Park, so take that into consideration if you’re only there for those attractions, but they’re a short Uber ride away. Loved the inside bar, and very friendly staff!

We loved it. The area was quiet on the weekend as this is in the financial district. However, if you have a good pair of walking shoes, you are within 20 minute walk of really cool things. Hotel was beautiful and the staff were helpful. Always love staying at a Bonvoy partnered hotel.

We had a really nice room, comfortable king bed. Spacious clean bathroom. The TV and phone did not work and did report. Engineer came up quickly but unable to fix either (not a deal breaker, however). Nice bar and dining area on main floor. For the $25 breakfast voucher along with room. This hotel had the best value for us and we will be back
