Great location and staff, but serious missteps. My stay was a mix of wonderful hospitality and frustrating operational errors. On the positive side, the hotel itself is comfortable, clean, reasonably priced, and in a fantastic location. The breakfast buffet was excellent, the overall food was great, and the rooftop bar is fantastic. Special shoutout to Raymond at the front desk, who was consistently friendly and welcoming every time we saw him! However, a series of service failures significantly impacted our stay: •Check-in Confusion: Upon arrival, we spent an hour dealing with a mix-up between the hotel and our booking site over a canceled reservation by the hotel, even though my app showed it as active. Management eventually resolved it and kindly upgraded our room, which was appreciated. •Late-Night Interruption: At 10:45 PM, while sound asleep, we were woken up by a staff member knocking on our door to sort out "paperwork." Being startled out of sleep without a prior phone call was alarming. When I called the front desk, they apologized and explained the staff member went to the wrong room. •Housekeeping Walk-In: The next morning at 8:15 AM, housekeeping knocked briefly and walked right in, assuming the room was empty. Needless to say this was uncomfortable. The staff overall was great, but the lack of internal communication and the big missteps made it hard to rest. It’s a great property, but management needs to address these procedural errors.

The hotel was very nice. The 29th floor bar was cozy and provided a great atmosphere overlooking the streets of Chicago. The room was spacious enough. I loved the wall art and the wall mural behind the bed. I love it had a microwave!! I like the room had a sitting area where you could dress or visitors could sit. Although when I first walked around the room, the bathroom had few hairs on the sink and there was no liquid soap but it had a small bar soap. It was also weird to have a few stairs in the room to get down to the bed area. As a solo traveler, I didn't like that my room was a corner room. I am not sure if that is the standard for this hotel when booked as a individual stay or booked through hotels.com.

We were on the 3rd floor, which was very quiet. Our room was nice and comfortable. It's downtown so parking is a challenge. When choosing this hotel, I read that there was on site parking for $58 a night. I was fine with that but when we checked in, I was told that there was no in/out allowed. So, we paid $82 per night for valet parking. We checked in around 9pm. The lobby was fairly empty but there was a DJ playing very loud music. I had trouble hearing what the front desk clerk was saying to me, especially when explaining the parking situation. We would stay there again as the location was perfect for walking to the Harry Potter Store!

The was a fantastic size with a bed area, sitting area and an office area. Bathroom was average and water took a long time to get hot so started it about 10 minutes before stepping in. Elevators could take a little time but not a big deal. Vallet was friendly and efficient. Only occasionally could we hear other guests if outside your door. Property is a fantastic downtown location just slightly off the beaten path to not feel crowded. Right off of Lake Shore Drive so it’s really quick and easy to travel to the north or south.
