Great and comfortable room with a great view of the Chicago Lakeshore and Navy Pier. Pool was great for the kids and 8 foot deep end is unheard of these days. Lack of hot tub was a miss for the adults but that's fine.

Staff were all very helpful and friendly, attentive to our needs. Rooms were spacious and clean, our lake view was amazing. Well equipped exercise room, pool with 7 ft deep end. Bar and small restaurant available as well. Beds were comfortable, room was a little dated but still nice. Elevators were annoying slow at times. They even had a luggage hold service which was great as our flight was in the afternoon. The lake front beach and walk way were about a 10 minute walk under the expressway, and Navy Pier was about 15 minutes away. Dog friendly, and for smokers, a nice area outside with rocking chairs looking out towards the lake (where you can also watch the fireworks at Navy Pier.

Room was nice and clean. Coffee in the lobby in the morning was great! The pool was underwhelming but seemed clean. The restaurant seemed understaffed. When we wanted to order a late lunch the bartender said he did not have a cook so we would have to wait. We decided to order a pizza from elsewhere since he was not very friendly about it.

Great view on lake side. Close walk to Navy Pier which was great. Most of staff friendly. Downside was waiting at night for elevators. Crowds would gather. Tried early check in my room still wasn't ready at 6pm so they gave me a different room. Overall I'd stay at that location again though.

It’s too bad, because the view was great. The bed was uncomfortable; the tv had no streaming capability; we stayed in a room where we heard the elevator all night; and the parking situation is abysmal. Either pay $86 for valet or park off site and walk. We booked this for a view of the lake, but that alone isn’t worth staying here again.

Very kind valet staff, even when only unloading and choosing to self park. They helped take our things out of the car and bring them to our room. The room had a spectacular view of Lake Michigan. We were able to watch the Wednesday night fireworks from our room! There was a great walkway right on the lake across from our room. It was a great location to the riverwalk and many restaurants. The room was quite small, and there was not a microwave and there was a very small fridge with no freezer space. We were surprised to learn that our room shared a wall with the elevators, so roughly every 30s-1min there was loud whooshing and clanging noises, all day and all night. The bathroom was very small and the bathtub/insert was dingy due to age and wear. The hotel had signs up saying they were in the midst of remodeling various bathrooms. Be that as it may, the floor tile was cracked and missing strips of grout. The sink was very small and did not drain well due to it’s shallow square bowl. It was pretty worn as well. The towels were not the fluffy fresh kind you hope to find at hotels. They were a little rough and did not dry well. There was nearly no options for purchasing onsite other than a fancy bar/restaurant area, and a small and not varied snack room. They do not offer breakfast. There was a room service dept, but we did not purchase anything. There is no coffee really available. The gym was very nice and had a lot of different equipment. There is a pool as well. GREAT VIEWS!

This hotel did not have coffee machines in the room! However you could take the 25 floor ride to the lobby and get free coffee. This hotel did not offer complimentary Wi-Fi in the room but you could take the 25 floor ride to the lobby and get free Wi-Fi. Don’t park at this hotel with a truck because it will cost you $86 per day!!

The stay would have gotten 5 stars, however the bathroom shower was not clean! there was hair in the drain! Once I made staff aware, they sent someone up to clean it. I also was able to do early check in for additional $50.00

No soap or body wash in bathroom. Had a lake view room but the window was so dirty on the outside it ruined the view. The mattress was absolutely disgusting! The market/pantry was a joke. Not much for amenities other than the cold pool and gym. Gym was very well appointed.

Room wasn’t very clean when we checked in still had food in the fridge from the last people. Went to get ice from the ice machine room and it reeked like urine, there was a garbage can full of used tampons on the ground in the ice maker room.

This hotel has always been one of my favorite places to stay when visiting Chicago — until my most recent visit. While check-in went smoothly and the staff were incredibly friendly, the experience took a turn once we arrived in our room. My boyfriend spotted what appeared to be a bedbug on the couch. Concerned, we inspected the bed and unfortunately found bedbug shells in the seams of the mattress, along with numerous small black spots. We immediately contacted the front desk, and to their credit, they responded quickly. Security was sent to assess the situation and later informed the manager that it did not appear to be a bedbug issue — a conclusion I strongly disagreed with based on what we saw. Given that the hotel was fully booked, I couldn’t help but feel that the issue was being downplayed, possibly in an effort to avoid taking the room out of rotation. This left me worried that they might simply clean the room superficially and check in the next guest without properly addressing the infestation. We were moved to another room, but unfortunately, that one had its own issues — food crumbs on the sofa and floor, and stains on the sheets. Overall, I was deeply disappointed by how the situation was handled. This experience was far below the standard I’ve come to expect from this property.

Pros: What we liked was comfortable beds. Although, they are Almost too small for two people. The Water pressure in the shower was excellent. It is a Busy place. We also enjoyed the short walk to Navy pier. Con’s: What we didn’t like was the cleanliness of our room. There was dust and dirt on the top of the water tank on backside of toilet. Crumbs on the window sill and our nightstands. The fridge smelled terrible and we didn’t even want to put our leftovers in it, so we just ended up throwing them away. The price for parking was outrageous and we were unaware of additional cost of parking. We ended up parking in a different parking garage down the road and had to walk back to our hotel and room.

The staff was very friendly and nice. The bedroom was standard, and the beds were comfortable. However, the ice machine on our floor was broken the entire time, so we had to go to the floor above us. Our phone's preset buttons to call the front desk, room service, etc, were also not correct. I also paid extra for the lakeside view, but we were on the ninth floor (still a nice view, but another guest made fun of us for only being on the ninth. Thanks, guy), and our window was extremely dirty. So much so, my phone had a hard time focusing on the view when trying to take a photo (see attached)

Overall great stay but bathroom door is a giant sliding mirror door that would not close all the way (there was always at least 5 inch gap and that is if you tried really hard from both sides to close it) so bathroom was not private.

This is the old W hotel. Needs major revocations. It was an amazing hotel, once upon a time… but nothing has been updated. The beds, bathrooms, elevators, everything… is worn out. You won’t get a decent nights sleep. The air is loud, mattresses are slummed. We changed rooms with our Bonvoy status… and I can’t say it was much better. Again lobby is nice, and rooms look nice. But they are used and abused.

Like - location!! Lily at the front desk did the best she could to get me what I needed. And Nick served us and was fun. Dislike - 1. Room was not ready. Okay happens, but 1.5 hours later I was still waiting. 2. Had to keep asking about the room. 3. Was told I had a F&B credit of $75 for the delay in checkin so spent last night in the lounge only to be charged for everything. 4. Valet gave me wrong key on way out. As a GM of a venue I know it's not always easy getting rooms turned and keeping guests happy. This experience was unforgettable BUT not in a good way. The mark was missed with this visit at multiple points.

The Wade did not have a room available on my checkin date and involuntary sent me to another hotel without prior notice and expected me to come back the next day to start my checkin then. This did not align with my schedule and I had to make other arrangements at a different property. I have yet to be refunded from the Wade and if you’re going to displace a paying customer, the policy should be to cover the new arrangements that work for the guest. Not expecting the guest to stay somewhere else for the night, check out the hotel at noon, and be stranded until checkin in the afternoon at your property. This practice is terrible and did not meet my needs at all. It’s also interesting that a room wasn’t available for me, but the man that checked in after me was able to get a room just fine. How do y'all pick and choose who to displace and inconvenience? Really sickening behavior and honestly dangerous as a solo traveler in a new place.

The check-in process completely ruined my trip to Chicago. They strictly refused any early check-ins, leaving all guests crowded in the lobby. I ended up waiting for over an hour before I could check in. When I first tried to check in around 2:40 PM, a receptionist told me to wait in the lobby and said they would text me as soon as my room was ready. He even took down my phone number. Unfortunately, it was raining outside, and the wind blew straight into the lobby through the doors, making it cold and uncomfortable. After a long wait, during which I started to feel faint, I returned to the front desk to ask about my room again. This time, a different staff member handed me a room key right away—no explanation, no text, even though the room had apparently been ready. It was clear they wanted guests to stand around and wait until the official 4 PM check-in time, regardless of the weather or conditions. When I finally got into my room, my body felt like it was melting from the sudden temperature change. The exhaustion hit me hard, and I ended up catching a cold after the trip—all thanks to this terrible experience.

Staff was great arrived early room wasn’t ready checked bags front desk called immediately when the room was ready. Great location! view from the room was amazing room was clean. Hot water was hit and miss some times it never showed up. Room definitely needs some maintenance TLC starting to show some issues Overall I recommend it and would stay there again.

Excellent location for getting to Navy Pier and the lakeshore trail, which was great for me as I enjoy running. The pool was nice, if a little chilly, and even though I didn’t use the gym it looked well equipped. Staff were all very friendly, breakfast was extensive and of a good portion size. The hotel was about a 10-15 minute walk from the centre of Chicago. Would definitely stay there again.

The property was walking distance from a lot of restaurants and attractions. We enjoyed the view of lake Michigan and the Navy Pier which are walking distance. The hotel is nice, up on entering it was a vibe and the staff was awesome.

Fourth time staying here. I love this hotel! Very convenient! Right next to navy pier for fun! Right my Michigan street for shopping! Minutes a way from Ramen San Deluxe, Starbucks, Wildberry pancakes, & other amazing restaurants for good eating!

The Wade is in a good location, but very pricey. The drinks and food were way to expensive that we had to walk to another location to eat. Scenery was beautiful. I feel that if the prices would be more reasonable more people would have drank and ate at your location.
