The room was nice and clean and the sheets were clean. Had a nice looking pool. Main thing there was an overall 'odor'. Hallways had trash sitting outside the rooms for pick up, could have been timing of when we were there and trash was out. Breakfast better than expected. At $135 it was about $100 less than other hotels in the area. For the savings it met our needs.

Here's what you need to know....I honestly appreciated the Super 8 staff doing so much with so little. The warm breakfast [waffles, eggs, biscuits and gravy (no meat). Other: cereal, milk, yogurt, apples, pastries, juice] helps so many without many convenient options outside the motel. It's quiet and the beds were firm which helped my back from a long journey. It really is no frills which suits my taste, because I don't like a lot of disturbances from housekeeping staff when traveling and there was none. Towels are changed every 3 days. I brought my own cleaning supplies which helped tremendously. The pool, gym and hall carpet were neglected & could benefit from at least a monthly deep cleaning. There are two levels with no elevator so my disabled companion could not walk up and down the stairs unassisted and stayed with realtives in MO. I made the most of my stay. The travel to and from Saint Louis was too long (37 mins) for me to consider returning. Also, the property backs a field, so you may see random [harmless] beatles floating on car, or may come into property, but nothing too concerning. There is no unpleasant odors such as mold, only odors brought in by pets and humans. Also, the air conditioning/heat did not turn on in my room, but the temperature stayed moderate. Overall, I'd give a 3.5/5 and I did enjoy my stay very much. The staff are very pleasant, humble, modest which contributes to the ambiance. 😉

The property was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The rooms were clean. The most unexpected and challenging part was that there is no elevator and we were on the second floor. We weren’t made aware of the lack of an elevator as we were loading up the luggage cart. We had an early departure time and breakfast was not going to be ready for another hour, but coffee is always available 24 hours. That was a plus.

The doors that were marked "Keep door closed" were propped open in just about every wing of the motel. Bed sheets were not clean, and the rest of the bedding was old and had some holes. The room temp was set at 60 degrees when we entered and very cold floors. Terrible sleeping conditions. We won't ever go back.

This was the nastiest hotel room I have ever stayed in; it literally hadn't been cleaned except to change sheets and towels and empty the trash cans. The hallway floor, room floor and breakfast room floor looked like they hadn't been vacuumed in weeks, same for dusting, the bathroom mirror had sprays of green liquid on it, there was someone else's used soap and hair in the shower (which also had no hot water), it was missing a light bulbs in the bed lamp, the sheets were ink-stained, the mattress had a LARGE brown stain, the "white" lampshades were yellowed with age and there was a big that looked like a tick on my pillow. Do not stay here!!! Didn't include pics b/c I don't want to inflict that on anyone!

Selected this due to FEEDBACK and it was nothing like the feedback. Hall carpets had piles of dirt, randomly and overall incredibly nasty. Room was terrible, where to start! Window wouldn’t close and lock, thus all the interstate traffic was very loud, plus cold air filtrates in. Wires coming out where smoke alarm was supposed to be, Lamp shade bent, with a hanging piece of it dangling down. Floor lamp had no knob to turn on/off. Curtains (white) covered in many, many black handprints. Towels were so old, one of the 2 bath towels had huge rip in it. I took pictures of all of this and plan to contact the owners or main headquarters. This was atrocious and I would advise to STAY AWAY.

The front desk clerk was not friendly. Not rude but just dry. The lobby was nice and smelled good but that’s where the cleanliness stopped. The carpets in the halls were disgustingly dirty. Black in some spots. Literal trash and trash bags lined the halls. I assumed they would get them by the end of the day but no. They were there the whole time . The halls reeked of marijuana. The room was not much better. There were several stains and spots on the walls and door frames. The door to the room was filthy. The area where the toilet is smelled like urine. I always bring cleaner so I had to clean the bathroom before even using it. The tub was not very clean and the mirror in the room had smears and what I assume food splattered on it. The floor didn’t look like it had been swept. My dog kept finding things on it including a piece of glass. The sheets didn’t look too bad but the blankets could use a good washing. Shower curtain was filthy. The room next to us had people in it who were clearly smoking weed in the middle of the night. It woke me out of my sleep. I wanted to call the front desk but the phone was in the drawer, filthy, and not hooked up. This is by far the worst stay we have ever had. I only picked this hotel based on the ratings and clearly this hotel must be paying others to give them good ratings. I will never stay here again.

My room was disgustingly fithy. The front lobby was clean and nice and so was the pool,the one redeeming aspect of the trip. But the room was filthy, one of the dirtiest I've had the misfortune of staying in, and I will not stay again.

My room (a deluxe one) was HUGE. It was also very clean and quiet. The wifi was not good when I checked in but after that first afternoon it got a lot better. The breakfast is rather basic -- toast, bagels, cereal, yogurt, microwave breakfast sandwiches, and make-your-own waffles -- but I don't really care about that, I rarely eat breakfast anyway and hate paying more for a service I don't use. I would absolutely stay here again!

Service was terrible. Reserved a double queen and sent to a single. No elevator and room was on second floor. After dealing with front desk, got room with two double beds so needed a roll away. AC in room didn’t work. Back down to front desk, person bringing up roll away is supposed to fix AC waited forty minutes and still no relief. Back to front desk and new person who was clueless to situation. Asked for another room and there were none available. Packed up and went to another hotel.

During our two night stay we used the exit door nearestest our room. We noticed small groups of men loitering just outside the door day and night. That door was usually propped open with rocks. Our impression was that they were long term residents of the motel. As we were leaving the morning of our checkout two of the men loitering at that door got very suddenly angry and verbally aggressive that I had said thank you when they held the door my and my husband did not say thank you. I went immediately around to the main lobby entrance to complain when a third young man loitering in the lobby involved himself. He then followed me outside and began to aggressively berate me. He then followed my husband back into the lobby and was verbally agressive to him The woman working at the front desk did nothing to attempt to stop this incident and failed to call the police when my husband asked her to. He completed our checkout and we left the property quickly as we could. The loitering men made us feel uncomfortable all weekend, and then at the end we felt very unsafe. We will never stay at this motel again. There is a real security problem there.

Well worth the price! It's not a brand new place, but it was very clean! The hallway and stairwell smelled amazing. Only one flight of stairs with no elevator. But we didn't mind. We had things we wanted to do in St. Louis but didn't want to stay in the city. As a mom and young son trip, I felt super safe. The staff were very friendly and the pool was nice.

2 levels with no elevator. Upstairs was reserved for no animals. While I am allergic to dogs and cats, I also have bad knees, so climbing stairs with luggage wasn't an option. My wife and I have stayed at this property twice a year, for many years (10 /-). We travel with our dog so we take a dog friendly room. The last year we have seen a markedly decline in the rooms/ smoker smell to be exact. It saddens me since the grounds are so nice and quiet...especially for walking. First room had food from previous customer in fridge. Front staff quickly gave me a difference room. Was very clean except for filters in air conditioner. Housekeeping cleaned them thoroughly and was very nice. Breakfast had ready made sausage and cheese biscuits and egg, Canadian bacon and cheese biscuit as well as other items. Good place to stay.

Room was fairly clean. Weird layout couldn't watch TV from the bed or the couch unless you moved the dresser it was on. Room floor had so much wax or cleaner that it was very slippery. Calk was missing and/or peeling around the bathtub, and BLACK residue was seen. Water pressure was poor and the handle on the bathtub needed to be 'moved' back and forth to get proper water temperature and pressure. Hall (carpet and walls) was showing their age, especially the stairwell on the north side of building. Went to breakfast at 9:15am on Sunday morning and there was NOTHING to be found. Clerk at the front desk said service ended at 9:45am ?? Desk chair in the room was broken - fortunately it was not needed. Light bulbs were missing in many fixtures. Remote for TV did not work (need new batteries ?). Had to use the control in the back of TV. NOTE: I did not report this, since the TV was barely used / needed.
