All the grounds around the building had dog poop everywhere. I was issued a room that they couldn't get unlocked gave me another room that had not been cleaned and then moved me to the 3rd room on second floor that was good how ever the trash was piled up along the stairs overflowing cans and bags of trash on both floors

The room was a little dated, but it was clean and check in was easy. Requested ground floor , but none was available which made it hard to walk up the stairs for me and my wife. No elevator was available to 2nd floor.

3/9/2024 Room 145 smelled like an old mop. Stains on the shower curtain, just get a new one. Stains on the top blanket I’m sure they were washed but just get rid of them and get some better ones. Table had a white residue on the surface top. There was a paper clip far right facing window holding the curtain together. The mattress was terrible not comfy at all great coil action. I’m not going to say the tub wasn’t cleaned but had dark steaks around on the inside. Paint chipping everywhere. I should have taken some pics but I’m sure they know. Toilet paper bar was broken. We use to come here for years just to get a cheap decent room but I think we are done here.

We had a weekend family trip (14 of us) and planned on staying at this hotel. When we got there, it was extremely run down, the front office didnt have air and they had the door propped open with a small fan blowing. There were sketchy people hanging outside the rooms and around the building. Then when we went to check in, (we booked four rooms about 5-6 wks before our stay), we were told that they were over booked and that they couldn't accommodate the 4th room. After explaining we needed that other room, the front desk person said she would cancel someone else's room (I feel sorry for that person). We were told that we could look at the rooms before we actually checked in. We were given room key cards and one room had black mold all over the ceiling and bathroom and then a second room actually had dried feces smashed in between the blanket and wall of one of the beds! Thank goodness we were able to look at the rooms beforehand. Unfortunately we didnt think to get pictures, but I absolutely do not recommend this hotel. Please find somewhere else to stay for your trip.

First the pros: Staff was very friendly and tried their best to help with problems, the ice machine was super at spitting out a large quantity of ice, the HVAC was decent, sink and toilet were clean, bedding was clean. The cons: A lot of loud people out in the parking lot until 2 am, refrigerator and microwave were extremely dirty, floor looked like it hadn't been swept, TV screen and mirrors had a dirty film on them, there were no towels in the room I had to ask for them, TV remote didn't work had to ask for a new one, telephone in room had no handset cord or cord to the wall really not sure why it was even there, the building itself seemed really old and dilapidated. Supposed to be a smoke free room, but it smelled like smoke. My stay for only for 2 nights, I would not recommend for a longer stay.

Sheets had blood stains on them. The comforter was covered in stains and cigarette burns. Room smelled very funky. Could hear the sound of cars traveling on the nearby road all night. Place looks very run down.

Mold on shower curtains. Noisy at night moldy mildew oder in room dirty bed covering dirty bathtub Could not understand the desk clerk no hangers, I had to request hangers and got them the next day. I would not recommend this facility to anyone.

The room was filthy, floor was not swept, there were splashes and dirt on the walls, counters were dirty, the bathroom walls were full of soap scum and black mold, the hand held shower wand had black pubic hairs stuck to it. I have never seen anything so disgusting in my life, I am planning to contact the corporate office on this matter, the place should be shut down and fumigated.

There was black mold in the Bathroom, with grime and dirt on the walls in the bathroom. Flooring was peeling up. The rails and steps to the upper floors showed severe rusting and big gaps. Especially on the stairs, the welds looked like they would not take much before the stairs collapsed. This was the same for the rails on the upper floor. Rusted out bad.

Beds were uncomfortable. Towels were dirty, had hair in them. Room smelled like mold, pillows smelled weird. There was a roach in our room and just that alone made me uncomfortable. Wouldn’t stay here again.

There was a huge hole in the right side of the bed. My back was hurting a lot the next day… we have a baby and this person gave us the last room literally next to the highway… nobody could even sleep… cero empathy! And the restroom was dirty…

I recently stayed at Red Roof and unfortunately, my experience wasn’t great. The NFC lock system was frustratingly unreliable—getting into my room was more of a hassle than it should’ve been. Additionally, the bathtub’s water flow was poor, which made taking a relaxing bath impossible. For a hotel that should prioritize comfort and convenience, these issues were disappointing. I hope they address these problems soon, as the location and staff were otherwise fine.

The rooms were a bit destroyed and keycards were unusable. I was moved twice because of the bathrooms quite literally coming apart at the walls. If you don’t like to shower then it’s fine

Paid for a king bed but was told there were none available when I arrived which I said was fine because I was on a road trip and checked in very late, 2 am. I asked for a late checkout at noon and they told me noon was the latest. Got to the room, looks nothing like the pictures. You immediately can tell that despite it being non smoking that people had smoked in here. The two beds had different bedding. One of them had a cigarette burn in the comforter and a dent in thr mattress on one side. The ceiling in the corner above the door was falling apart. The bathroom was tiny and falling apart. The shower looked too gross to want to use. The a/c didn’t get the room very cool at all and sounded like a semi was running outside in the parking lot. It was “clean” but there are things that need to be fixed for it to have been a pleasant experience. I Hope some of the other rooms are in better condition. On top of all of that housekeeping knocked on the door at 11, I got up and tried to explain that I had late checkout and was told I needed to talk to the front desk and told them i already had when I checked in at 2 am and was told again to talk to the front desk. I called instead of walking down and was on hold when a fee minutes later another staff member knocked very loudly and told me that noon was the latest and I said ok. So much for getting an extra half hour or so of sleep. Ml

The staff charged me twice paid for the first night with my visa card the next morning I used Expedia and paid then I immediately called the front desk to make sure it went through. She assured me that it did then I called my bank to see my transactions and I have been charged three times in two days for the same motel so when I checked out I asked her about why I was charged again and she tried to tell me that my Expedia reservation didn’t come in until 2 o’clock in the afternoon after I don’t talk to her the morning before at 11:44 AM and she verified that it had went through and everything was OK .I had my confirmation number from Expedia, where with tax and all only had to pay $63 and when I got the receipt from her when I checked out, she also charged me $80.68. She try to make some excuses but when I got to look at the receipt, she printed off she charged my card at 4:48 PM that day. I called the main office and back to the Merrillville office and they don’t want to refund my money. So I really have nothing good to say

Terrible place people followed me and were watching in the parking lot. Very unsafe area. Whatever you do do not stay here. Managenment will not refund you. I was there for a total of 5 mins at most and then left and booked a hotel elseware. Poor property and nasty

Domestic happening in the parking lot at check in, multiple "residents" that just give you a warm and fuzzy feeling. Rooms were dirty, dingy and stained. Checked in and checked right out, no question of why or attempt to reconcile not that they could. Spend a few bucks more. Don't be on a crime report.
