Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Merrillville

I was completely disappointed in this hotel. Not only was it dirty, but was advertised as having a pool and hot tub. The pool was empty and looked like it hadn't been used in years. It appeared like this hotel was being used as a residence. We had 1 towel for showers and we ran out of toilet paper. The carpet in the entrance had large stains on it and was worn.you could barely see out of the filthy windows. I booked this hotel out of necessity, as I was attending a funeral. Other wise I would not have stayed the second night. I was under the impression that it would be different as I respect the Wyndham name. I'm not going to book with this company in the future. Dirty. No hit breakfast. No pool.no elevator

The hotel is clean, has guest laundry, free breakfast, and fair pricing. The best part about this stay will be the staff. They are friendly and helpful, and you will always see them tending to the hotel, cleaning, and keeping guest areas well-tended. Great customer service here, I would recommend it! :)

Property, and especially the room’s bathrooms, need updating with cleaner and fresher elements (such as tub, grouting, sink, etc.). There was nothing hot for breakfast, and it was not well-stocked. We left early because we found a live cockroach!!!!!! The pool was shut down due to a health violation! I recommend you do NOT stay here.

We booked a room but we're upgraded to a suite. Very comfortable bed, big room and clean. Pool was closed but we didn't plan to use it anyhow. Said breakfast until 9. We went down at 8:45 and everything was gone but waffles. They did bring a few things out after we asked. All in all a nice place to stay.

I can see they’re on their way to making some improvements. It looks a bit like an house flip. Less expensive stuff, but it does the job. Even thoughts it’s non smoking, the hotel smells like smoke. The carpet in the main areas is very old, and once that’s gone the hotel will have a much better vibe. Breakfast was just fine, basic but with a few options, dining area was good, room was okay. No smart TV, so you’re stuck with whatever is on basic cable. The comforter smelled terribly of perfume, and was extremely light, so it was a little chilly. Parking was ample. Staff was nice. You get what you pay for. On a budget, I might stay again, but I’d probably pay the extra 30$ or so for a place with a less depressing, smokey vibe.

No elevator.

The saff is friendly they trying thier best. We had a family trip to Indiana rain the whole time so we had to stay in the room. Has a pool but no water in the pool. Would have been nice if the pool was working cause we had a child with us. Would have kept her busy. Rooms was decent clean but the floors was not. Hotel does have a unpleasant smell. When we checked in two males in the back lobby was rolling blunts.

Place was quiet and neat, room was clean, good cable, comfy beds, no critters, staff is professional but not overly friendly, breakfast is mediocre at best. Pool room was shut down and doesn’t look to opening anytime soon. Overall not a bad place.

Not worth the $98 I paid. The room was moldy that my allergies kept making me sneeze. The shower head hardly had any pressure took 20mins to even wash shampoo out. Worst part was we was camping all week and booked hotel to wash clothes and freshnen up but the washer room at this hotel is locked and broken sign and we wasn’t even given a warning before booking.

Very dirty. They didn’t change the bedding in the rooms. I found wood chips on the sheets. I found little crawlers in the bathroom that I had to kill. The bathrooms were so dirty I was going to shower my baby- but I decided not too. It was just dirty.

The room was huge and the bed was comfortable! I was very satisfied with the room but i notived that the bed linen had not been stripped and changed. There was hair in the bed and spits of blood. That is a deal breaker. I dont care what the quality of the hotel is, they should ALL be stripping the beds and changing out the linens after every single guest. Anything otherwise is disgusting and unacceptable.

Room had all the basics and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good, included eggs and waffles. Hair in bathtub indicated it wasn't clean. Tub faucet dripped all night, and cricket under AC. Good for just sleeping and getting back on the road. Good value.

The floors were dirty and mold was growing in the bathroom. Even the sink looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks

The wifi signal was barely strong enough to reach my room. It was spotty at best. When I could connect to it, it would drop me soon afterwards.

The WiFi didn’t work. The hallways and common areas are in need of cleaning and upgrade. Room was good.

Pros: room was clean; bed was very comfortable; Price was excellent. Cons: Wi-Fi did not work; TV signal was bad and couldn't watch it. Overall: slept great and for the price, we would stay here again.

The AC very old noisy avery 20 min and tub water didn't drain. the fan in bathroom didn't work neither

The rooms are very large and the bedding looked brand new, it was so white. For the price it was perfect. Everything worked and it was warm and clean.id stay again if i was traveling in that area.

Cold rooms, the heat was not on when we got the room, temp outside was 20 degrees, TV remote was not working, carpet on main staircase could be cleaned.

Need to do some updating, it’s a budget inn I get it, but clean the walls, have a coffee maker. Maybe get trim that’s on the walls

This property was disgusting and front staff really didn’t care of the concerns

The staff is always friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean, bed comfortable and like that no pets are allowed.

No where in this site did it mention a deposit but they charged a deposit for the rooms. Also i requested on reservation and i called 2 days before to make sure rooms were side by side but when i got there they were not so i had to request a switch he gave me a list of available rooms and i had to go see which 2 i wanted when we went in one of the rooms i chose just becauae they were next door to each other the bathroom toilet had hair and urine on it. I went to the desk.and he told housekeeping wouldnt be there until the morning and just looked at me so i asked if i could have cleaning supplies to clean myself because we couldnt move again we had an event to.attend and had to get ready right away. He was nice but he shouldve offered to clean room or offered 2 new rooms but i dont think he new the condition of the new rooms. The next day the houskeeper did come. The other room the 1 chair that was provided was missing a wheel. The beds were not bad and i like the fact the floors were not carpet so it was clean and fresh. They had a shortage of Bath towels the whole stay we were there for 3 nights We had 2 rooms for 8 people and we only initially had 1 set of towels in each room when i went to ask for more towels he led me to the laundry and there were no clean bath towels and limited wash cloths he said they had to be washed. I did get towels just inconvenience. The pictures of outside is misleading. It looks very old on the outside.

Attempted to check in two hours earlier although the hotel was empty we were told to come back it was really hot so we sat in the lobby, the front desk clerk went into the breakfast room and ate around two by 230 I ran the bell then walked down to find him in the kitchen with headphones on so I waved at him and he finally let us check into a room that had been empty for hours. No shampoo or conditioner only mouth wash and lotion in the room.

I enjoyed staying here, due to I was able to relax and sleep without any disturbance. I worked a stressful week out of town and needed peace of mind. The staff were super nice, my room was convenient located. The lobby and eating area was clean. My room was clean. Housekeeping wwre attentive.

This was my two day trip to Chicago and Gary, IN, so staying here made it the best as well. I loved how safe of an area the property was located. I also loved how there so many eateries, in walking distance of the property. The customer service at the property was grade A quality. The staff made me feel welcome the moment I checked in. The only one thing I didn’t like about the property was a little uncleanliness in my room. There was hair in some places. Other than that one flaw, I do recommend this hotel to people who like a safe property with nearby eateries.

Breakfast was basically non existence. 45 min before done serving breakfast..8 of us to split 3 pieces of bread, 1 yogurt, watered down orange juice, 1 1/2 cups of coffee, cold cereal with no milk available. the second day of our stay there we went elsewhere for breakfast

The room was clean, a big room with tiny furniture. Stains in the shower. The bed was comfortable. The hall carpet was shabby and dirty. Breakfast was carbs only. The coffee wss tasteless.

The people smoking outside had the smoke coming in through the air conditioning. The floor was bouncy, slanted and was unstable. Looked like a smashed bug on the toiletries (we bring our own to use) , lots of hair in all sorts of places when we entered the place. So dusty where one bed side was that my feet were grimy immediately and I had to go wash them and keep shoes by the bed. Checkin/out window has a plexiglass protective barrier, only wide enough to pass a credit card through. Breakfast was not 6:30 to 9:30, at 9 we walked out there to get hot water for my protein powder and coffee for my mom and everything was empty and looked like it had been cleaned up for a while. Microwave didn’t have a glass plate and we informed the night and morning staff about it. The exterior of the building was easy to see that it was rundown even in the dark of night when we arrived wearily. The staff was pleasant and friendly. Hotel incidental fee was refunded the next day.

They offer breakfast and run out in 30 min after 630am and tell people there no more to eat. The room microwave was dirty not cleaned throughly. Shower curtains was filthy. Didn’t want to give extra linen.

The inside of the hotel was ok. The outside needs work, when we checked in sign said breakfast till 9am but when we went to get breakfast there was none available and it was 7:45
