Hampton Inn & Suites Scottsburg

Bedding was not made up properly. Felt like somebody had thrown the sheets over an existing unmade bed. Not sure they were changed from the previous occupant asked to have them replaced the next day. Couldn't even get the corners tucked down over the mattress properly as if they didn't care. And left the old sheets in the corner. Pool was cloudy and over chlorinated front desk person was super though.

Very smooth check in. Rooms were in great condition. Excellent location with lots of restaurants nearby. Pool was good, kids enjoyed it.

I came to the Hampton Inn mainly forthe pool and hot tub the hot tub was not working and the pool was to cold to swim but other then that it was a nice place

We were on a long drive from SC to Wisco and this hotel worked for a quick overnight. Pool and breakfast were great for the family. There is gas, Dunkin’, and other restaurants in close proximity.

Great price. Good breakfast with plenty of options, but the juice was watered down. Nothing fancy, but my family always likes waffles. Hotel looked nice & newly refurbished, as did the room. Had normal hotel beds & fluffy pillows. It was a cute room. Our room had ants. I brought a couple scones from breakfast to eat later, left them on the tv/dresser counter, BUT when I went back to eat one, maybe 30 min later, the ants had swarmed. Anytime we forgot & left something there, ants swarmed. The room door sat askew. The latching side of the door had a larger gap at the bottom, more than an inch, than the top, so that was slightly disconcerning. Some of the renovation work in the bathroom weren't set flush against the wall, but that's cosmetic. This didn't effect us though. Our bathroom vent did not work, so our showers turned the bathroom into a sauna. The water also stayed hot throughout all our showers, so honestly no complaints, except we had to use more towels for the floor so no one slipped. The saddest news for my family, however, was that pool was closed for maintenance cleaning. We chose this hotel, the more expensive option, over the other one we were debating simply because this one had a pool. At the time I booked nothing was posted about maintance, but that was a month prior. Still led to sad kids who had been extremely excited to swim. So, pros: great price & breakfast, fluffy pillows & hot water. Cons: ants, crooked door, no pool.

Nothing to like! Was not told the whole place was under construction! It stunk, it was noisy, no pool, no jacuzzi, no nothing!! I couldn't believe it when we arrived. I did not check in. I cancelled my reservation on the spot and went across the street to Holiday Inn and it was beautiful!!

Very good breakfast. Nice staff, clean rooms. Kids enjoyed the nice, big indoor pool. Good stay.

This is a nice hotel. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The continental breakfast had a lot to offer and tasted really good. The hotel is under renovation and in my opinion overpriced. I would stay here again if I had to but again the hotel is overpriced for a one night stay.

The room had 2 queen beds and a double pull out couch, 2 tvs in separate rooms as well. We loved that it has a full sized refrigerator, dishwasher, and stove top. They even had cookware for you to use in the cupboards! The pool was clean and decent sized. The breakfast was delicious with many options available and the staff were friendly. It was in a convenient location as there are restaurants within walking distance, it is right off the highway, Walmart is just down the road, plus it's close to Louisville without having to stay in a larger/busier area. The only complaint I have that isn't a huge deal to us was that housekeeping did not restock toilet paper or leave extra trash bags in the room. I had to go find a housekeeper a couple times to get bags and toilet paper (there were 6 of us in the room). We also had to go to the front desk one night to get toilet paper.

I had to ask to change my room because of a mold odor as soon as I exited the elevator on the third floor. The original room had a very bad mold odor and the towels were dirty. I was moved to another room on a different floor and the room was cleaner and the odor was not present.

Convenient location, nice size room but no supplies in bathroom. Room smelled musty and bathtub was moldy. Huge divit in mattress making it difficult to sleep. Breakfast was mediocre at best. Not worth the money!

We booked a room at the Hampton Inn & Suites this past weekend. Every day was another disappointment after the next. The first night our room smelled like dog urine. It was so strong and terrible. It hadn't been cleaned thoroughly. When we told the front desk, they explained to us that it is a dog-friendly room- which ok, we are happy you accommodate pets, but we shouldn't have to sleep with their mess. There was also a poop stain on the carpet. We left for the day to return to a bottle of febreeze. That was the fix to our dirty, smelly room. We complained again and asked for a new room. Unfortunately, we were moved to a room with a king bed, having 7 people in the room, this was not accommodating at all. We had to go to the store and purchase a blowup mattress. The next day we were out again, came back around 4:30pm and our room wasn't cleaned. The front desk said that they left at 4pm- so we didn't get towels, our trash emptied or more toilet paper. When we were checking out, after waiting at the front desk for someone to show up for 30 minutes, we spoke to a nice lady named Amanda- this was our first time meeting her, and she explained that we could be compensated for our room by the manager, whom we will have to talk to on Monday because managers don't work weekends. Please call me or return an email when you can and let me know how this will be handled.

The halls and rooms smelled moldy and musky. Had to switch rooms 3 times. Black mold all over the ceiling. Broken toilet. They finally upgraded us for free to a suite which was nice. Other than it also had a broken toilet that we had to plunge multiple times. Hotel is very rundown. Breakfast was better than average though.

We had a ton of ants in the room. When we told the front desk at checkout ( we only stayed overnight) they said maintenance will take carw of it but did not offer any compensation.

The carpets were not clean. They needed a good shampooing to remove stains. There were no tissues in the room. The desk chair could not be adjusted high enough to use the desk. There were no chairs to sit in besides the desk chair.

It was a very nice hotel, super clean, very friendly helpful staff. They let us in well past check in, breakfast was very good. Right off interstate. Our A/C wasnt working great, I had it set on 64 and I was sweating, otherwise I would give the place 5 stars.

Was very clean and up-to-date. Looks like it had been recently renovated and was very nice. Only thing to complain about was the heating and cooling system. It was summer and our floor/ room were oddly humid and had a musty smell. It was cool but very humid to the point that my clothes that I had hanging felt slightly damp when I got up. But other than that, I would definitely stay there again.

Walls a little thin, but other than that a nice place to stay. Bar/Grill restaurant in walkable distance and breakfast was good.

No one was at counter to check us in. Large sign said SORRY, AWAY HELPING OTHERS, BACK AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Finally a lady waiting to check it, called the front desk. The guy said he’d be right out. He said we should have rang the little bell. But that’s not what the sign said. OUR ROOM - was clean, the bed was comfortable. The wall thermostat did not work. The Temperature had to be adjusted on the AC unit. Toilet was loose and could rock a little back and forth. They added electric blinds. Controller was on the wall. There were two thick wires running over to the window to power the two blinds. One blind didn’t work, the other black out blind would not come down until I helped it start, then the blind started down and I couldn’t get it to stop. The electronic controller did not work well. For $229.40 per night for a king size bed and these issues, I would not stay here again.

Bed was horribly uncomfortable

The bedroom tv did not work, there was no lightbulb in the living area light, there was a cobweb on the bedroom ceiling that look like it was there for several years. Not a typical Hampton!!! Very disappointed.

The Eve/night manager was kind of rude. He told us we should have booked straight from the hotel and not Expedia and because we did we wouldn’t get out points.

The staff was EXCELLENT. Arrived a day early so did not have an accessible room available and they went out of their way to see if they had a raised toilet seat for my Mom (unfortunately they did not). Again, went out of their way to clean quickly and accessible room for the remaining nights we were there. To the front desk staff: who truly went out of their way to personally assist my handicapped Mom THANK YOU!!

I waited far too long at the front desk for check in. I must have stood there for fifteen minutes while he waited on another couple, then he had to answer the phone and do reservations for them. The phone in my room didn't work and had to use my phone to call down to the front desk. I tried to buy a snack but when I went to pay for it, no on was at desk. Next morning I tried to pay again, but no one was at the front desk again. I owe $3.

Matt at the front desk was awesome. The room was clean and comfortable. Very easy to get around the area. Would stay her again anytime.

We arrived in the late evening, which I called prior to arrival to make sure our late check in time would be okay because we've been traveling for 15hrs, and they said it was okay. We waited 10 minutes in the lobby for anyone. I called the different extension numbers, etc. It went to the front desk, where no one was. My husband was looking around the halls and some side/conference rooms. Someone came in from outside, smiled at me and went behind the desk. She asked if we were checking in, I said yes. I commented that I wasn't sure if anyone was here, she didn't acknowledge what I said. A gentlemen came and went behind the desk as well and finished getting us checked in. Neither acknowledged, let alone apologized to us for the wait. If someone needs to step away from the desk, someone else needs to be available to take over for that period. I understand things happen, but I was really upset that the understanding and acknowledgement that we were waiting on THEM wasn't addressed.

Staff accommodated my need to switch rooms and were pleasant day and night. Easy access to the interstate.

Matt did a great job at check in. Went above and Beyond. We stayed with a dog and he gabe 423- best corner room for pets

Had items stolen from our room first night of our stay and the issue never got addressed or resolved. Will not be staying here again.

The surrounding area was very accessible for your needs when your traveling.

It seemed like the property was just redone. Our room was really nice. It was very clean and everyone was friendly. My one small issue is that we had an accessible room, and the electric blind didn’t go all the way down so first thing in the morning was very bright in the room. However, that was very minor and I would stay there again and I would recommend anyone else there was a lot to eat around and it was a cool little downtown area with a great coffee shop.

Perfect place for us to stay. Loved that we could walk to the restaurant next door. Went to the breakfast in the hotel at 9am and they were out of almost everything and did not restock. Breakfast said it was served until 10a. Had some pretty disappointed kids.
