Hotel is central to shops and close to Jackson Sq. No parking. Valet over $50 and takes 20 min to bring car. Better to park in public garage. They are currently under construction which was not told to us prior to reserving.

The hotel was under construction and had the parking garage shut down, which created serious issues for anyone trying to check in or depart. They were understaffed and when I arrived there was one fellow trying to do bellman, valet and guest services at the same time. He had no necessary backup but was doing the best he could with a professional demeanor. That being said, it took over an hour for me to get checked in, and when I left it took 45 minutes for the valet to bring my vehicle. This is absurd for a place like Omni Royal Orleans, which has always been in my top 3 favorite hotels in the Quarter. This aside, my room was solid and the pillows were excellent, as usual, as was the quality of the linens. If I were you I would call to verify if they are still under construction before booking. If they are my suggestion would be to take a cab or uber to them and not rely on their valet team to accommodate you properly.

I only booked this hotel for the pool bar. Specifically for the pool bar to eat and drink by the pool at the hotel. At check in I talked about how excited I was to go to the pool bar. How I only booked the hotel for the pool bar. The pool bar was closed the 3 days I was there

Chair in room was falling apart. The pool stair is extremely dangerous. My friend slipped on the guest step and had a severe bruise that affected her for a week. She had to get a ct scan when she got home. Another person came up to her and said that she also slipped on the first step. Why is the first step marble?? Is not a big step and lot of children in that area.

Elevators were completely out of order on Friday and Saturday only one was working. Being 73 yo and on the 7th floor was not acceptable. Hotel did not offer any discount for the inconvenience. This is not a 4 star hotel. More like a big zero.

The staff is quite good, but the rooms are in poor condition and unclean looking. Big stains on our carpet and bathroom has old dirt that is embedded and can’t be cleaned. You cannot adjust the air conditioner in the room. Worker had to bring a ladder and physically climb into the ceiling to adjust the air conditioning. The doors to the balcony were loose and in need of repair.

Parking was blocked off all day and no communication on how to get to it. Found out they’re changing out the pool this year. Crane was being assembled right beside the hotel. Wasted a couple of hours driving around the place to find out I had to drive down a one way to get to the parking. Hotel is run down bad looks rough. Only 1 elevator running the entire stay. Room had stains in the carpet and was pretty awful looking. This is a classic New Orleans hotel that used to be awesome but has seen better days. Hotel needs an entire renovation…not just the pool.

Linens were clean, we were able to check in early, and staff was responsive. Somewhat disappointed with the condition of the room for the price, could really use a deep cleaning (switches, carpet). Bathroom was really beat, tub/shower drained very slowly. We were upgraded to a room with a jetted tub but the caulk was moldy so not exactly somewhere we wanted to sit and relax.

We had a king balcony room - the carpet in the room was sticky with obvious large stains - - fingerprints on door jams - the tub filled up with water past my ankles when I showered - Just rather shabby . Just as a weird aside - at 4 AM the courthouse scaffolding across the street was covered with crows ( yes the big black bird) - their “ cawing “ was so loud it woke us up ! Not the hotel’s fault , certainly .. The lobby was very pretty - very classy And Staff was very nice at check in

I stayed seven days in a room with a balcony and it was quiet and nice. The rug needs cleaning badly. This is not a four star hotel but the room and the service that I experienced were very good, the best of the hotels I have stayed at in this area. But I will try others.

Rooms usd to be nice 20 yrs ago. Carpets nasty, bathroom full of chipped tile, caulk , dirty trim n doors . Swimming pool is a absolute petri dish. Black mold in all the grout lines....so thick it comes off in chunks. Nobody to scrub the damn pool?

I was terribly disappointed with the current condition of our hotel room. I stayed there several years ago and the Omni Royal was absolutely magnificent. The hotel is not being maintained as you would expect an Omni property to be maintained. There is a grey bathtub ring in the tub that appeared to have been there for a long time. Paint is peeling off the bathroom ceiling. Shower was great, but ventilation very poor, so steam buildup was very bad. The property has just lost the sparkle it once had. The staff, however, is excellent, very helpful and accommodating.

We enjoyed our stay very much! Our room was very clean, and the staff at check in was very nice. Made the process very easy. Pool, and upper deck area very nice. Check out was easy as well. Had to wait a little while for them to bring car around, but expected as several people were trying to check out. Staff at the Rib Room Sunday morning was not very friendly, and had a hard time communicating with a lady as she did not speak good English. Glad we did not decide to eat there, as they are very pricey. But overall, wonderful stay. Would stay again.

Nice rooftop. Pretty lobby. Great location. But the rooms are lackluster. No soundproofing, no bathroom fan, noisy air conditioning. However, the hotel location in the heart of French quarter makes getting around very easy.

This room was TINY. There is no shelf in the bathroom to set your toiletry bag. The elevators were not working except for ONE for the entire hotel. At times, we waited almost 15 minutes for the elevator for the 6th floor. I am not even sure the bed was an actual queen-size bed. This hotel was NOT worth the $400 a night we paid. The bar and restaurant service was SLOW, and the coffee shop was very expensive. Overall I would not stay here again.

The staff was courteous. The location is great and close to everything. The room was smaller than anticipated (at the price). Overnight parking is expensive. One of the elevators was down so we took the stairs most of the weekend. The hotel is nice but dated. I had a room with a balcony. Being on the balcony was nice, but it needs updated furniture and a fresh coat of paint.

If you would enjoy a day in the bunks of the titanic this is the place for you. Unfortunately this place is horribly outdated and the pictures are severely deceiving when it comes to size of the rooms. The rooms are tiny, offer physically no space whatsoever. 2 people is pushing it in a queen room with patio excess. The bathroom needs some serious updating and again offers no room at all. The bed was an old spring mattress that felt like laying on an old supersized piece of toast that offered no support or comfort. Walls were paper thin and the entire floor was covered in old old carpet which may have contributed to the musky, humid smell allover. The hot shower was the only positive experience unfortunately. Parking was a disaster since there was no parking available except for valet which ran you 57$ per day and you were at mercy of the poor valet guys who ran back and forth all day. It was close to burbon st. Overall i do not recommend.

Our rooms went 2days without cleaning. We basically retrieved items from the cart in the hall. The bell staff and doormen were very informative and helpful. This is my second time staying here and i enjoyed the hotel.

The lobby is being renovated, which is not mentioned on the Expedia listing. The valet was slow and disorganized. The hotel requested via text that cars be requested in person. The wait was over an hour and we finally had to go to the garage and got the car ourselves! The restaurant food was just OK, and not worth the price. The service was very slow. The bartender at happy hour was slow and unfriendly. There was a $200 per night hold and a $25 daily “destination fee” that was not disclosed by Expedia during booking. Overall - unsatisfactory. Stay almost anywhere else.

We had quite a few hiccups with house keeping throughout our entire stay. But Mike at the front desk heard my concerns and frustrations and went above and beyond to make it right. Would still stay here - just had an off weekend with housekeeping. Thank you, Mike for making it right!

My husband and I stayed for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. The staff was amazing and the hotel is everything you want from an old world, New Orleans experience. The location is perfect for a week walking and exploring the Quarter. Close to amazing restaurants and shopping, do not skip the roof top pool! It is heated and the view is incredible. It is not a modern monstrosity of steal and cement. It is a beautiful and historical building.

Amazing corner room! Service was excellent, our toilet wouldn’t flush and they sent someone up to fix it almost immediately and it was fixed just as quickly. Quick walk to a lot of restaurants, and near French Quarter attractions. Construction was going on in the lobby but it wasn’t any problem for us

The staff from the front desk to the bellmen to the housekeeping team were friendly and consistently went above and beyond this was my 4th stay at thr Omni and i look forward to coming back again! A HUGE THANK YOU to Smiley who went above and beyond and upgraded our room to a balcony room which made our trip extra special and 5 stars and 2 Big thumbs up. I paid for my room in advance. Get there a little before check in and was told I couldn’t get a room because it wasn’t clean and I needed to wait 20 minutes. Twenty minutes became 30. Went back and was told I needed to wait if I wanted a clean room. Check-out is at 11am and check in is at 4pm. Clearly not my fault. I asked for the hotel manager and she was polite but she asked for another ten minutes and then gave me a key to room where they were still cleaning Ana closed the door in my face. I didn’t even know they were in there until I heard a vacuum!! I was there to celebrate my 50th birthday and it was ruined. I cried because I remember the last time I came there the hotel desk clerk tried to embarrass me with how I paid for the room. And I said then I would never come back. So that’s my fault for not trusting my gut but I liked the location. I asked for a refund. I came to the Hotel Monteleone, which has OUTSTANDING SERVICE!!! I will be reporting this hotel to the BBB AMD ANY OTHER SOCIAL MEDIA PMATFORM I CAN FIND. The way I was treated was disgusting and humiliating and if you don’t want black peoplw in your hotel all you have to do is say it. I will never ever ever ever come back. I sat there and watched everyone else get their rooms at 4!

Excellent location and we were able to walk to Bourbon Street, Jackson Square and the Steamboat cruise. Lovely cafes, restaurants just minutes away. Felt very safe with plenty of people around. Lots of shopping in the street and also streets nearby.

My favorite hotel in New Orleans—gracious, beautiful, perfect location in French Quarter as well — not on Bourbon Street but close enough to the action if that’s your thing. Excellent restaurant, and altogether a relaxing upscale oasis. Staff are first rate. Pool on the roof. Highly civilized.

A gem of a hotel in the heart of the French Quarter, less than 3 blocks from Jackson Square. Their rooftop pool is lovely, the view of the city from up there is priceless, and the rooms have some of the best pillows I have ever encountered in a hotel. The entire staff are also always friendly and professional.

I absolutely love the location of the hotel. It was walking distance to everything you could want to go and do or see in New Orleans. But it wasn’t right on Bourbon Street, which is great because how does anybody sleep in those hotels lol the staff was amazing and very tentative and I just couldn’t compliment them enough. If I go back to New Orleans, I would definitely stay at the Omni royal again

The location is great! The roof top pool and views are very impressive. Steve, the concierge, was a great help. We also enjoyed the Happy Hour at the Rig Room bar. I highly recommend this hotel. My only complaints are that our room was not attended to so we had to tell the front desk in order to get service, and the safe was locked shut upon arrival. We need assistance to open it for our use.

This hotel is gorgeous. The staff was so friendly from check in to the restaurant inside. The restaurant was delicious and very attentive. The lobby also had a man playing the piano which was so lovely. One of my favorite amenities was the pool. It’s a rooftop pool with a great view of New Orleans and you can see the river.

Located one street south of Bourbon, the Omni on Royal is very convenient to restaurants, shops, a street car line, the French Market. Music venues abounded on Bourbon. It’s near all the Mardi Gras season festivities but is very quiet once inside. We ate breakfast each morning in the Omni restaurant using a $$15 voucher provided by the hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. This was a perfect location for us to use as a home base to visit Nola!

Our only complaint is the Rib Room for breakfast. We both had the $18.00 American Breakfasts and $5.00 6oz coffees. 2 over cooked eggs with 4 pieces of potato and one slice of toast. We will never again eat a $60 breakfast here again; live and learn!
