The hotel itself is lovely, very tasteful classic New Orleans decor mixed with modern art, furnishings , and several great choices for meals and/or drinks. There is live entertainment on Thursday nights, and the staff from the front door and throughout are attentive and pleasant. There is a Happy Hour each day with freed drinks and snacks, and the staff working it, as well as the front desk and doormen are great tour guides and very prompt retrieving your car, etc. Rooms are well appointed and thoughtfully include luxurious robes, a clothes steamer, an umbrella in the closet and a lot of room to hang your belongings and stash suitcases. The location - perfect! Safe and made for walking near the Riverwalk!!

Our room was not ready upon check in time. We waited an hour for our reservation in the lobby during the busiest holiday of the year. Their front door makes an awful sound every time it closed. Our room 403 made an awful knocking sound all day, all night. The first night was rough sleeping. The next evening I reported the problem and was told they would send someone to fix it. That never happened. So I requested a different room at midnight which they had available. Thankfully. When we were able to park our vehicle with the hotel their automatic system via phone did not work. We waited 1.5 hours for our car. Then when we left to return home at 4:30 am we were told there is no valet service and needed to retrieve our vehicle and had to search for it in the parking garage. All these frustrations are preventable through proper management and maintenance of property. Disappointing.

Literally if I see the word Kimpton now when booking I choose it. The service is always SO GREAT. It was also beautiful & clean! Loved everything. The gospel coffee shop was 10/10 also!

From the front desk to the restaurant to the parking valet, the staff was outstanding. Our family of four, including two young children, felt very welcome. The room and common spaces were well-designed and immaculate. Thank you for such a nice stay.

I definitely liked the "vibe" , ambiance and decor of the hotel. However, there was issue with the water temperature. This morning while taking a shower my husband and I noticed the water was Not hot and never got hot at all. Therefore, we had to take a cool, cold shower which was not very pleasant. I wanted to call to front desk to report the water issue but due to us having to catch a early flight, I didn't have time. Other than this complaint, the stay would have been great.

The mini fridge wasn't working when I checked in. I also only had 2 towels, no hand towels or bath mat, and the bathroom floor was very slippery when wet. The hotel brought another large fridge, which they deposited on top of the desk. The room shared a wall with another room that had a dog. The dog whined and barked all night, and again in the morning. I could hear everything through the wall. I had to leave early to work in peace. The hotel looks nice, maybe a little scuffed, but my experience was not good.

I honestly was skeptical about going here but I’m so glad I followed my first mind and picked this location. This hotel was everything and the bedddddd whew slept like a new born baby. Rooms where so big and comfortable 1000000/10 must stay again. Staff was soooo nice

This hotel was awesome. Only complaint is the street noise. At 11pm-1am was really loud revving cars and was super loud even from 5th floor. Otherwise, loved the room, the coffeee shop, the comfy bed etc.

The Peacock Lounge is sophisticated and so beautifully designed. We had a great dinner at the in-hotel restaurant, King. Staff was very professional and polite. Rooms are spacious and housekeeping cones daily. My only “complaint” is that the water supply in our room didn’t get very hot, so showers were lukewarm.

My stay at the Kimpton Hotel was okay overall. The room was clean and the hotel had a nice boutique vibe, which I appreciated. The bed was comfortable, and the space felt welcoming and large. That said, there were a few issues that took away from the experience. The TV wouldn’t connect to smart devices, which made it hard to stream anything. I also asked about a place to warm up food and was told a microwave would be brought to the room but it never came. When I followed up, I was told there were none available. Lastly, the shower had a serious leak that left water all over the bathroom floor every day. Aside from these problems, the stay was decent. I think with a few fixes to the amenities and communication, the experience could have been much better.

Someone walked into my room while I was laying down trying to sleep after I had just checked in and got my room. I called the front desk after it happened and they told us it was the mini bar attendant and that the manager was aware and would get back to us. No one ever got back to us and the person on the phone was so awkward and hung up after we expressed our concerns. I was just so tired so i ended up falling back asleep. This morning at check out, no one even asked how the stay was or gave us an update on why someone walked into our room and we had a flight to catch so we couldn’t bring it up.

The property had an awesome vibe about it and we had one of the rooms in the historic building and we’ll definitely do that again. Had some issues with the room but “Stormy” at the front desk was super sweet and got someone to our room to fix the issue immediately. Stormy was an amazing host and she did her best to make sure our stay was perfect!

Excellent location to use as a home base for exploring the city. The entire staff is AWESOME. Special thanks to Ross who retrieved our car from valet parking. Always friendly, always answered any and all questions, and offered suggestions for dining and viewing the city. We ate in all three restaurants and had excellent meals in all. Staff was attentive and friendly.

This was the worse stay I have ever had. The customer service was horrible, and the prices they charge for incidentals is exorbitant $52 to valet, is excessive. And please do not eat any of the snacks in the room, as they are also expensive! Placing all those items aside, the night we stayed the hotel was hosting some kind of roof top party that went on until 2 am, by the time we finally fell asleep, a smoke alarm warning went off at 4 am, instructing all guests to evacuate their rooms immediately by way of stairs, we were on the 15th floor, when we made it to the lobby, we were told and I quote here" it was a false alarm, go back to sleep" not one employee apologized or took 2 minutes to explain what had happened. We could not go back to sleep after this scare, so we checked out at 6 am, upon check out, the front desk clerk, knowing that all the guests were required to evacuate their rooms, did not even ask us about our stay, I asked her if she could offer us some coffee from their restaurant, since it was so early and there was none offered in the rooms, and she said no, but that there was a Starbucks 2 blocks away. I will never stay here again! This hotel had every opportunity to turn a really bad situation around by showing wonderful customer service skills, but they were not even able to do that.

From start to finish, the service was phenomenal. I booked a vacation for my wife's birthday, and the staff was incredibly accommodating. The concierge upgraded us to a city-view room upon arrival and the bellhop/valet helped us with all of our bags. The front desk even brought us several miscellaneous items we forgot to pack. It was our first stay here, but it will definitely not be our last!!!

They charged me about $270 additional for a room I didn’t rent! I had to call back to get a refund for them more than double charging me. No explanation or insensitive for this costly mistake. This is the second and last time I’m staying here. Both times I’ve had to call about issues with my stay regarding them overcharging me.

It was AMAZING. Kimpton properties always are. This property was exceptional. We were upgraded to a suite on the top floor corner upon arrival because of our loyalty. The staff exceeded our expectations. The room was PERFECT. The restaurants superb. I can not say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay ... and we were walking distance to almost everything.

The Kimpton Hotel Fontenot staff -- those at the front desk and in the King Brasserie restaurant -- were very friendly. Our breakfasts at Brasserie were good and our room was clean and comfortable. One minor complaint: The shower's water pressure could have been better!

I had a spacious room with good beds. I chose the hotel for the three restaurants under its roof as I was reovering from a procedure and cooldn't go far. Housekeeping didn't speak any English and needed prompting.

The Kimpton Fontenot is a wonderful hotel in the heart of New Orleans. It's a short walk to the French Quarter and the Morial Convention Center. The Peacock Room bar in the main lobby is a fun place to hang out.
