This is an older hotel. I would love a smart TV and more bar options. The carousel bar is understaffed and overcrowded. So we couldn’t get any service there. The room is fine, but the tub/shower head a bit outdated. I was expecting a bit more. Nothing some modernization cannot fix!

Hotel was very clean and you feel like you are back in the 1800's! Rooms are a bit small especially when travelling as a family in a family room. Had some problems with the valet parking, but everything else was great!

Hotel Monteleone was in the perfect area of the French Qtr to explore. Parking was too expensive. Pretty nonengaged front desk staff. Concierge and management are not on the same page. Carousel bar is fun!

The hotel was tired feeling. One of 2 of the elevators to our room was out and we were on the highest floor. I wish I had known that one of the towers had been recently renovated. Our room was clean but tired, linens…our TV was out but eventually fixed. I would not choose to stay there again

Property is great and in a good location. The valet took forever to get the vehicle. I wish there was a spot for the hotel guests can self park and not have to wait over a half hour to get a vehicle. There also should be complementary coffee for the guests.

The room was clean for the most part, my husband found debris in the tub that really wanted to use. I thought that I had booked the newer tower but I had not. It’s a beautiful hotel. It’s kind of old money looking. The crowd was mostly upper 40s in age. It was a very busy lobby. The carousel bar was and is the best thing about the hotel and it seems to bring in the crowd. I was not thrilled about being the last door/room in the hall we were in and I never saw other people on our floor just in the elevator. Would I come again? No. It’s over priced for a classy but old hotel. The location is great though right in the center of the french quarter. With so many newer hotels I didn’t see the draw to this one except for the bar. No person went over and beyond or did anything that really stuck out. We were celebrating a birthday and an anniversary. They did give us two complementary drinks from the bar, but getting a seat at the bar is a challenge. If it wasn’t for the location I would’ve given 2 stars. I have stayed at 5 stars and less hotels, I liked to be wowed, nothing here except “again” the bar that did much for me. I was stuck between here and the Roosevelt Hotel and we are going to stay a night there tomorrow. Maybe I will be wowed tomorrow. The old rooms are old, but to be fair the room overall was clean and the bed comfortable.

The Monteleone is always a wonderful stay, this was my second time staying here. Everything is pristine. Housekeeping does an amazing over the top job. The luggage valet room is run extremely well, a wonderful amenity, and the gentleman running it was a gem! This is my go to for any future stays in New Orleans.

I stayed at the hotel for two nights. The room was spacious, and I liked that the carpets looked very old and stained. Among the good things were the super white towels and linens.

The hotel was beautiful upon arrival. Staff was very friendly, but problems arose when we went to the room. Found trash stuck to the bed, hair on the shower and shower walls. There was construction in the room across from us and it started in the morning and went on all day. We weren’t notified of that, we were only notified of the window cleaning. Other than that, area around the hotel was great.

Overall the hotel was amazing and I can’t wait to go back. My only complaint honestly was that the maid service kept skipping our room. They would clean it when we asked but felt like such an amazing hotel you shouldn’t have to ask. Still, can’t wait to go back and stay there again.

Overall the stay was great. Great service, friendly staff and great looking historical rooms. The only small issue was the room didn't get cold enough. It was comfortable to me because i had a little fan i travel with but to someone else, it may be a bigger problem.

It was disappointing to not be able to check in until 4 PM on a Thursday. We had driven ten hours and were in town for a funeral. The room although beautiful was very small. The bathroom was also tiny. We did like the quality of the sheets, towels and robes. The TV was very small. We loved the lobby and foyer. The hotel was a beautiful, gem in the French Quarter. Not sure we will ever stay in the French Quarter again due to the people on the street begging, drunk people asleep on the street, the strip clubs and unsavory atmosphere a few streets down. New Orleans needs to be cleaned up and go back to its roots of classy restaurants and great jazz and drop the sleaziness that is there now.

Motion detectors in the room ruined what would have otherwise been an incredible stay. The hotel was really nice and the location was great, however the hotel uses motion detection in the room that constantly flash a bright blue light on the roof. The motion detector is so sensitive that even the slightest turn of the neck or wiggling fingers will activate the light shining in your eyes, and kept me from getting an ounce of sleep. I even went to the front seat and was told they can not turn the motion detectors off. I won't go as far as saying they spy on you, but every single time we left the room, even just to go grab a quick meal, we would come back to our room bing refreshed. My wife absolutely loved this, but I almost felt spied on and a bit weirded out that they would even fold our our dirty clothes (underwear included). It will personally depend on how you feel about privacy versus hospitality, but unfortunately the blue motion detection light would make this a place I would never stay at again. If lights don't bother you I would recommend, but if you want a dark room to sleep it, I would stay away from this place.

Wonderful property! Very central to the French Quarter. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was we were on a lower street facing floor and the noise was terrible all night long. While not their fault it’s a noisy city, these rooms were recently redone and they could have possibly done something to make it quieter for the price you pay. If we stay here again we will definitely request a higher quieter room.

My stay at the magnificent Hotel Monteleone in the heart of the New Orleans French Quarter was great in every way, truly setting the standard for a fantastic hotel experience. While the hotel offered many wonderful things, the one element that really stood out was the exceptional service from the housekeeping staff. She went above and beyond, not only thoroughly cleaning my room but also taking the time to organize it; I was especially impressed that she even rolled up all the cords for my electronics, going the extra mile to make everything tidy. I have never mentioned a housekeeper in a review before, but she did a truly memorable, five-star job that deserves recognition!

Phone was stolen from bar was missing for almost 18 hours. Bar manager at first said he saw on video who took it and then upon return call he couldn’t tell. The person that returned admitted picking it up out of chair which had camera located right above it so I fell like the hotel bar manager lied to me. I was thankful that I did receive my phone back even though it was missing for 18 hours. I don’t feel like the hotel responded appropriately

Our stay was decent overall, but there are a few things travelers should know. The hotel requires a $100 per night deposit for incidentals. This wasn’t an issue for us, but it’s important to keep in mind—especially for those traveling from out of state or abroad who may not have that extra amount set aside. Check-in was not smooth. The front desk staff was friendly, but they seemed unfamiliar with the system. We checked in with one card and used another for incidentals, which led to a few mistakes—double charges for incidentals on one card and an overpayment for one night. While this was eventually resolved at check-out, the errors could cause serious problems for guests without extra funds available. I had read similar complaints in other reviews, so I wasn’t surprised to encounter issues with payments and deposits. On the positive side, the location is excellent—central to everything and within walking distance of most places. Locals mentioned that Royal St. is one of the safest areas with plenty of cameras, and that seemed true during our stay. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable, and aside from the check-in/check-out experience, it was a good stay.

Check out was a nightmare, we booked 2 rooms and instead of treating it like one booking, They charged me twice for everything, charged my card for two different deposits, $900 each per room, taxes and fees were all charged twice, it just made things very complicated. Beds were wonderful, staff was awesome. Food was okay, way over priced.

We loved everything! The staff here make you feel like royalty. They are so kind, friendly, and helpful. Their attentiveness rivals the Inclusive resorts we have stayed at. I wish I could remember everyone's name, but I have a few shoutouts. (Please forgive me if I spell any of the names incorrectly as I'm going off my memory.) Mike, our bellhop, was so friendly and he gave us a great recommendation to go for the best jazz music. Anita, our concierge, went out of her way to give us suggestions, book our reservations, and even got a recipe we desperately wanted. She was amazing! Marvin and Corey made the Carousel Experience such a memorable time. So kind and knowledgeable! George & Dessy at the restaurant greeted us so warmly and took great care to make both our meals there special. From the ladies that checked us in to the doormen and bellhops to the housekeeping staff (& nightly turn-down service) to the in-room dining staff to even maintenance people, we were overwhelmed with kindness, efficiency, and helpfulness. You made our 30th Anniversary trip absolutely perfect. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. I can't imagine any place being better than the Monteleone. I hope we will get to return to New Orleans. And if we do, we know we where we will be staying! Thank you to everyone! God bless you all!

Our 1st room had construction being conducted on the floor above us so we called the front desk and they moved us to another room which the air conditioning didn’t work so then they moved us to the same size room but it was renovated. I would have hoped we would have been upgraded to a suite but we weren’t. When we checked out they said I only put down a deposit through hotels.com. I couldn’t find my paid receipt so they charged me and finally after looking through my emails i found the paid receipt and went back up to the front desk for her to say that she couldn’t handle that, reservations department would need to call me back. All people were very kind and considerate but it was still a little bit of a disappointment.

The absolute best hotel stay my wife and I have ever experienced. The staff at every level were exceptional. The Iberville King Suite was amazing. The onsite restaurant, Criollo, was the best meal I've ever eater and our waiter was amazing! We were sad to leave, but can't wait to go back.

From the many times we've visited NOLA, the Monteleone was the most welcoming, most accommodating place we've stayed. Every employee was friendly and helpful. It was evident that high standards for the hotel are maintained. We had breakfast in the restaurant where the service and the flavor and presentation of the food was top notch. It was absolutely worth the extra money we spent to stay here.

The Monteleone is a beautiful piece of New Orleans history. The Carousel bar has always been a favorite of mine in nola and staying at the Monteleone is one of the best memories of this colorful city. The room service is delicious as well, try the truffle fries and the creme brule!

Hotel is very nice and so is the staff, only had 2 minor issues during the visit. First the room service they said 20-25 minutes it took an hour and 15 minutes the food arrived cold and was nearly double the listed price $62 for 2 cold sandwiches that seemed like they were prepared to make the 20 minute window, also payed for late checkout came back to the room and our keys didn’t work so we had to take a trip back down and get them fixed.
