Super 8 by Wyndham New Orleans

The hotel was clean and the front desk was friendly. I liked that it was gated and had security patrols.

I liked the set up with the rooms and the pool. The security gate and covered parking was nice too

Good customer service, safe parking, close to highways. Limited breakfast choices, small swimming pool, need renovation.

Hotel was basic, but clean and everything needed was provided …. ice, tv, refrigerator, microwave, etc. The staff were all friendly and helpful. If you’re accustomed to the Ritz, this isn’t the place for you, but we just needed a clean, safe place to shower and sleep, since we spent all our free time in the French Quarter or visiting the sites. “Breakfast” was provided, but VERY basic and limited. The bonus for us and the main decision maker, was not only the low price, but the FREE, secure (gated) and covered parking. I noticed there is also a large, uncovered parking area in the back for oversized vehicles or towed trailers (but still secured behind the gated lot entrance). Everyplace we checked, charged $35-$50 per night for parking. If this is a requirement for you, check the details on any hotel offering “free” parking as we asked for details and were told the free parking was actually very limited parking on the street! The surrounding neighborhood looked a bit sketchy, but we heard of no issues while there (3-nights) and we were close enough to the Quarter to have driven or Ubered. I will say, navigating the property was a bit of a challenge as it appeared the place may have, at some point, been an old motel (or possibly two melded together) to transform an outside corridor motel to an inside corridor hotel. It’s a bit chopped up and confusing, but not a deal breaker by any means.

Pool was not open even thoigh hot state. Not good selection for breakfast. Only one washer and dryer took forever to do laundry. Not best area as prostitution was taken place right out front at next building. But made most of it. Staff was great

A bit scary, but there were cameras and it was gated, breakfast was just ok, nothing to write about. Elevator kept on jerking around and bussing, it too was scary.

this is an old property that has been maintained well. It has an old New Orleans sort of charm with an atrium & swimming pool in the middle. The gated parking lot gives an extra sense of care & security.

Need new washers and dryers.

Clean and basic room. Parking was plentiful. Breakfast was scarce. They never put out enough and there was waffles, bread for toast, muffins, raisin bran and coffee. Juice machine was broken. Pool was closed.

The restroom smelled like mold and mildew. However, this room was a little better than the first room. This place needs to me remodeled.

Roaches were in the room. I have pictures & videos in my phone

The room smelled horrible it was non smoking. I'm disabled and the only working elevator was in the back of the building. And we got bed bugs bite marks everywhere:( worst hotel I've ever stayed in

The hotel was in an area that didn’t appear to be the safest location. It was surrounded by a gate and you did need a room card to access the property. Once inside I did feel safe. The man at the front desk was friendly. Parking was in a covered area (very low roof) and I couldn’t open the back of my SUV with hitting the roof. The spaces were very tight. The room was outdated, the furniture was beat up and my blanket and sheets had cigarette burns. I wanted to check out after seeing the room. It was late so I stayed. I left lights on since I was afraid of roaches. The bed was actually comfortable and I did get a good night of sleep and did not encounter any roaches so I decided to stay. I asked a woman at the front desk to change my bedding/sheets due to the cigarette burns- this was never done. I also left a garbage can outside my door for housekeeping since rooms were not cleaned unless requested- the garbage can was still outside my door when I checked out. The walls are thin and I did hear conversations from the adjoining room. There was a small pool and breakfast of waffles, toast, bagels and cereal- these were the nicest parts of my stay. Day 3, I was feeling a little more comfortable so I only slept with only one light on- I woke up to see my first cockroach. Overall, I would not stay here again.

You get what you pay for. WiFi only works for the front part of the building. Linen was dirty one bed had a blood stain on it floor had huge tear in the rug had to ask for towels and room cleaning for a three night stay only good thing was staff was nice couldn’t help much an A.C worked well will not be back

Vents dusty/moldy, no housekeeping u less requested. Stayed 4 days, requested room to be cleaned, never happened. Room keys didnt work at gate (its in a sketch area so wanted to park back behind the gate for safety). Very frustrated with services NOT recieved after working all day 12+ hrs. Noise echoes in hallways, walls thin. Needs big time update. Pics are misleading. Wont be back.

Very dirty and nasty

Our room was clean and comfortable. Lots of hot water for showers. While the train yard was close we never heard any trains. The people at the front desk were very friendly. There was also secure parking available.

This property should be shut down. I would not even let my dog stay here. I wish I could attach the pictures I took upon arriving to our room. This hotel was listed as "very good" when I originally booked the room which is a total scam. Over $500 per night because it was Super Bowl. I should have known better but because it had Wyndham as the hotel operator I thought maybe it would be okay. In summary: FILTHY! BED BUGS on box springs along with human hairs, food debris and who knows what else. Bright red lipstick stained on pillow case. Located in RED LIGHT district. Garbage and dirty towels strewn in halls at 3 PM in the afternoon. Writing this to warn others. We did not stay and have requested a refund.

Perfect place as base for exploring New Orleans. It is close enough to be convenient yet very economical. It’s in an industrial area so it’s not a place you can explore on foot. It is on the bus line and I had minimal trouble getting an Uber. The property is secure and especially the vehicle lot. I loved the staff who were the same each day. It’s clean although under the bed could have used some attention. The property is old and you can see it must have been almost grand in its glory days. I liked it. Money was the biggest factor on this trip. There is a little store next door for necessities. There are places to eat within driving distance.

Room eere Decorsted very Beautiful in New Orkeans Style Decor I loved Loved the Illuminated Bathroom mirror very nice touch for a picky stylish on a budget type consumer like myself dont ever sacrifice style even on a Budget so this Hotel was really nice as far as room goes....Lobby nothing fancy but Thats Ok as I wasnt there to sleep in the lobby anyway however my only complaint was there was only One Working Ice Machine to service the whole 3 Floors. And itwss quite a distance walk from my room. At night that was bit scary as the rooms were outside if the lobby area if you know what I mean strangers coming & going not safe for Ice machine to be so far a walk when young lady by herself..... tgey had another Ice machine on the Main Libby Floor but it was Out of Service but the lication was oetfect right near Elevayor & near my roo. But broke diesnt serve my needs....but again Rooms were hesuutiful bathroom Cozy & beds Beautifully made & Comfortable sleep. I would stay again Staff was super nice people. B'Fast adequate great Waffles but woukd bedn nice to have at least Scrambled eggs or Bacon to get lil needed protein. And the OJ disoebser was also broke......but again ovetall thus Suoer 8 by Wyndham was overall very nice.... & very friendly staff!

To old need to update all rooms.

Checking in was good. No issues, fairly quick. The room only has the under-window AC unit, no other environmental control, which means the bathroom only gets its heat or AC from the room. The bathroom overhangs the parking area I think so there is no insulation under that side of the room which made the floor freezing, and we left the bathroom closed all night which made it an ice box in the morning. The shower was able to warm it up a bit, but the floors were ice. Breakfast was from 6-9, we got there at 8:40 and it was non existent. The front desk said they would not restock it either. So maybe if you get there early enough you could get food. Disappointing that you look for a hotel with “breakfast included”, pay a bit more than others to get that amenity and then dont get it. Oh well. I wasnt going to make a big deal. Would rather them not waste food putting some out just for us. Beds were decent. Of course you get what you pay for. Rest of the hotel was not exactly like the pictures. They make it look much better than it really is, but its bot awful.

This hotel was noisy at all hours of the night. People were yelling and laughing all night. Could not sleep because of the noise.

The breakfast was just coffee, waffles, cereal, and breads. It was just ok. The room was ok but several nights we were woke up by noises outside room.

While dated the hotel was great, breakfast wasn't bad but more options like muffins and bagels would've been nice. The only issue I had is the beds were a little soft to for us. Thanks!

The hotel is in a challenging area. There is good security around it. The room that we stayed in was dated, dingy and the pillows were small uncomfortable and stained. The room appeared clean and the water for the shower was HOT. Which was a huge plus.

A jail like hotel, tough steel gates, cars aren't easy in & out; Bad wifi in the 2nd flood; A fake continental breakfast, without any hot meal, rolls, but good juices; carpet is too dirty, needs good wet clean; High too price; Night-sheet staff's english so fast by heavy asian accent, hard to understand

Staff at the property are excellent and the service is great. The area around the property is run down and there are not many places for food and local public transport is poor. Was told the area is unsafe by many Uber drivers but I didn't see anything untoward, but I also didn't walk around at night.

Rude guy at front desk. Guy told us we couldn’t stay at hotel cause we had a service dog was denied service every time from guy at front desk. No assistance from male personnel except housekeeping. Blood in hotel room on dresser and floor. Bullet holes in wall

We enjoyed our stay, the staff was nice, the room was clean - no bugs. Our only issue was our card continuously stopped working . They would claim it was because of our phones but it happened even when I didn’t have my phone. It was the only inconvenience. The overall stay was great!

Staff were very rude upon arrival, door entry cards had to be reset numerous times AC was so noisy I had to turn it off

Be sure to check your bank or credit card statement upon check out and the days following. They will charge your card for the deposit (not a pre authorized hold) then claim to refund it, then the refund doesn’t post, it falls off, had to dispute it with my bank. This happened both times we stayed here! Stay clear!

You get what you pay for! Front desk was fine but maintenance was absolutely unacceptable. Sink was clogged since we got in, room phone didn’t work so I called the front desk to inform them. Politely told me someone would be in to fix it. We stayed 4 days called twice a day and every time I was told someone would fix it. We checked out and STILL couldn’t wash our hands or brush our teeth in the sink, had to lean over the tub! Phone ene e got fixed either. But all else was fine. If you’re ok w just a bed and a roof, you’re in the right place.

The good: its cheap and reasonably clean. Great if you are looking for an affordable place to crash. Inside the hotel complex is safe, the area around is not. The bad: you are nowhere near any of the sites you want to be around. The ugly: the area around the hotel. My uber driver told me she usually never comes to this area. Even during the day I did not feel comfortable going for a run. Hotel is fine for a day or two to crash, but more so bc of the area you wont want to stay any longer than that.

It was my first time in New Orleans and I didn’t know they the hotel was that far from downtown. Taking Uber or taxis was very expensive. The buses were more affordable but it would take very long to get to the tourist areas, you had to take two or three buses!

The staff was great! Angie, along with the lady on morning duty were very helpful with directions and dining suggestions. The hotel is alot further away from downtown New Orleans than portrayed. But, it is very close to Lake Ponchatrain and a beautiful park with walking trails.

Staff was great, as mentioned, there are prostitutes near hotel, not Hotels fault, easy drive into Nawlins, we stayed 2 nights room was fine, parking included as mentioned here before not for LARGE Vehicles

The property is Ok , the room is clean parking are clean, but the service needs to improve more, the breakfast is to poor need to improve.

Too expensive for the quality of service received and many qualities that are ALWAYS with rooms were not even included in the room. We had to go and request a coffee maker in our room since we weren’t even provided one even though they always come with the room. The breakfast was also extremely limited and poor, they can provide more grab and go items. The juice machine was closed and nothing there was much edible than the few muffins that were never refilled and waffles. The environment is also extremely unsafe, always smelling of weed and with sex workers often loitering outside the building. Looks like nobody is taking care of this environment. The front desk staff was helpful, but aside from that, the price paid was abysmal for the quality of service received. We have been to cheaper motels in more populated cities and have received better amenities and services. They need to work on repairing the building and improving the repair. There was also no housekeeping which was a pain.

Before I even knew how bad things would be based on the area and look of the hotel. I told the front desk I need to see the room. I wanted to make sure I gave this place a chance. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL! If you don't mind staying in a hotel that make you feel like a person on a drug binge, due to the darkness, dirtiness and griminess hey book this spot. I would rate this place a -5. The worse experience. The place was extremely dark and I mean like no lights in the corridor I felt like I stepped into a horror film. The room leaked with the chemical smell. The toilet didn't work. I immediately went downstairs and told them to cancel my reservation.

We have stayed here several times.it is okay for quick trips. Breakfast was not good this trip only cereal and coffee. about 15 minutes to getting to bourbon st.

Specifically we chose this for laundry room- which was broken all 3 nights. Also for proximity to city centre- it cost $** each way for an Uber and was nowhere near the centre as it was described. No maid svc. despite requesting daily. Breakfast very poor. Thin towels but as shower was a weak flow, and dangling from wall, maybe for the best. It was gloomy- no outside window or vanity curtain so drapes had to be kept shut. Frog swimming in pool. Insult to injury was being charged $90 more than had been agreed. Told to contact Expedia- we already had- they passed our complaint to hotel- who did nothing. Asked repeatedly to speak to manager - who was consistently absent. Poor staff Disgusting hotel. Expedia- respond!!
