We just stayed here for 5 nights and although we weren’t in the room much we did enjoy our stay. We had the honeymoon suite on the 3rd floor that came with a separate living room and balcony. It was very spacious for just the two of us and so much closet space! Walk in closet and a coat closet plus a linen cabinet in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable, not the best but also I’ve had worse. The room was spotless and had the bare essentials. Maid service came in every day to make the bed and refresh our towels. We encountered many staff members and every single one of them was fantastic! I can’t remember the gentleman’s name today that checked us out but he was very helpful and even helped load us up in our taxi, I had no cash on me but I wanted to shout him out for his 5 star service! To management please consider changing to a different door lock system, the keyless entry is just so frustrating for your guests as it rarely ever worked. Every guest we encountered was having issues!

The property is advertised online and via Expedia as having parking. I was charged, and paid in advance, for parking. Yet upon returning Saturday night I was turned away by a security guard waving his hands and blocking entry to the parking lot. He said they were "full" and I had to find a place to park on the street, in the pouring rain. Upon inquiry, the rude woman working the front desk said it was "first come, first served" and she would refund my parking fee. She did not refund anything and I still have the charge on my card. I have attempted to enlist the help of Expedia but it has turned a cold shoulder and a cold heart to helping those who stay at places that clearly pay it for advertising. The entire situation is a disgrace. I will certainly never stay at Le Richelieu again and won't be using Expedia, either.

I liked the authentic feel of this property. But the pool is run down. The staff does not remove the cushions before rain. The outdoor wall sconces are in disrepair. They only serve coffee in the morning.

Very clean and nice staff. Liked the digital keys and that they locked the front door at night. Felt safe and secure. Wished the bar was open at the time we were there, but it was under renovations so that's not a knock on the hotel. Liked how it was in the French Quarter and walking distance to everything. Definitely would stay there again.

Hitel is one block from two restaurants, one pricey, the wine barrel, and one, miderate, the Louisiana purchase pizza. We ate twice there. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Free wifi.

Parking is not included with the hotel pricing it is additional $50 to stay in the hotel secured lot. Probably wouldn’t have stayed there if I had known up front. Lot was full and prepaid reservations doesn’t mean you get to park in the lot. Had to walk 4 to 5 blocks from hotel to park at another location owned by the hotel and carry luggage back and forth.

I had to change 2 rooms in 2 days because they were dirty and even the room where I ended up staying was dirty. No one never cleaned it, there was still pee on the toilet seat from the customer previous my arrive!!!!

I found the staff very attentive throughout my stay. The room was spacious as was the bathroom/shower room. Amenities in the room basic, just a safe, tv and coffee machine. Air conditioning and ceiling fan useful too. Ample pillows and towels, the towels changed daily. A fridge would have been advantageous. As my room faced onto the road it was quite noisy at night, in addition Freight train hooters were heard constantly throughout the night too. However, the cleanliness of the room was far from good. The wooden floor clearly had not been swept or vacuumed for some time. There was debris and dust together with toe nail clippings around the bed- disgusting! I advised the reception staff, said they would pass onto housekeeping - NO ACTION. Advised reception for a second time - NO ACTION. I returned to Tyler at reception and he was very apologetic. He even offered to come and sweep the floor himself. I declined his offer as I was leaving the following day. A very basic hygiene task to sweep or vacuum and mop the floor with HOT water would have resolved this issue. I would recommend anyone planning to stay there to take house shoes and avoid walking bare foot on the floor.

Great location. Super walkable. However, our bathroom wasn’t cleaned upon arrival. Old pee stains on the toilet seat and hair in shower as well as old sud bubbles on the shower walls. This hotel is in a great location in a quieter area of the French Quarter. Unfortunately the inside noise level due to thin walls/doors between adjoining rooms and bare vinyl floors was disturbing. I could hear snoring, conversations. And more from the adjacent room. The pool is lovely and clean. The furnishings are minimal, too few for comfort for a long stay. I do not mind that they were vintage and a bit beat up. But…. No full length mirror, no dresser or chest of drawers. A larger nighstand was the stand-in, and its surface was covered by the coffee pot and ice bucket. The mini fridge was placed on the floor. The room needed a deeper cleaning (wipe down of surfaces and wall trim, and floor mopping) prior to check in. I did not expect luxury for the price, but I did expect better than this. Too bad. It’s an interesting historic building. Ok for a night or two. I won’t go back for a weeklong stay,

The room was clean and spacious. It was a very convenient location. Staff was welcoming and friendly. The only thing was that there was no mirror in the room (there was a half mirror in the bathroom). It made getting ready slow since we were sharing the room. Spacious room with a comfortable bed. It's a little off the tourist path and a bit of a walk to restaurants. It had a small fridge but no microwave. A bar but no dining area. Still, it's a part of New Orleans history and we enjoyed our stay there.

Staff and cleanliness was good. However walls are paper thin it’s like I was sharing my room with both my neighbors, could hear everything including snoring from next door. Also they put my room next to the ice machine, so that’s a load of noise every hour and whenever people want it in the middle of the night

It all started with a big New Orleans welcome at the front desk. We were a little early but were able to get to our room promptly. The lady at the front desk was so helpful and friendly. It was like you were her family. Location was perfect for enjoying all of the city. The rooms were in great condition. The air conditioning was amazing. If you are visiting in the summer you will understand. We will only stay there going forward.

Our stay at Le Richelieu was excellent! The only (very slight!) issue was our room was on the first floor on the street level so we couldn’t really open our window shade, but that being said it was very quiet still and we couldn’t hear street noise at all really. The concierges were very helpful and let us drop off our luggage early and keep it a bit after check out due to our weird flight times, letting us have the best experience in New Orleans possible! Housekeeping was also excellent. Would highly recommend for a great location and experience in the French Quarter.
Our stay at Le Richelieu was excellent! The only (very slight!) issue was our room was on the first floor on the street level so we couldn’t really open our window shade, but that being said it was very quiet still and we couldn’t hear street noise at all really. We tried to extend our stay a half hour, at 11:15am, so that we could check out at 12:30 pm to run to the cafe and the very rude front desk person rudely stated that we would have to pay for a full hour in order to do that. Then he huffed when my elderly father with dementiagot his luggage stuck in the elevator. People like that shouldnt be in the service industry.

Not especially clean, TV didn't work, short on amenities, average place with a great location. Staff wasn't very welcoming or accommodating. It's "historic" so the floors creek, sounds echo, you can hear everyone from the hall close their doors and talk while awaiting the elevator, the pool and lounge area were nice but the interior balcony views have an abandoned lot as an eyesore. The doors have digital keys that are only accessable through their slow website. We won't be staying here again.

Our stay here was great. The beds were comfortable. It was walking distance to French Market, Cafe du Monde, Frenchmen St, Bourbon St and Jackson square. There was a streetcar stop about 2 blocks away. It was very convenient and staff was pleasant.

Convenient location to both Bourbon St and Frenchman St (especially Frenchman St), without being loud at night. Very comfortable mattresses. Great place to stay in the French district. The phone-based lock system didn’t work in our room but they gave us a fob that worked fine, so no big deal. Good price for what you get.

Each time my husband & I visit New Orleans this is the only hotel we stay at. It is in walking distance to many places to eat, shop, hear live music and just enjoy the energy of the French Quarters. The staff is ALWAYS friendly & welcoming. It's a true gem nestled on Chartres!

Stayed here in 2020 before Covid hit. Had a lively bar and fantastic full service breakfast restaurant with the best banana pancakes. We checked in— no bar, no food, all closed. Very sad and disappointed as I brought my family to enjoy what I had experienced before.

Very clean and nice staff. Liked the digital keys and that they locked the front door at night. Felt safe and secure. Wished the bar was open at the time we were there, but it was under renovations so that's not a knock on the hotel. Liked how it was in the French Quarter and walking distance to everything. I’ve wanted to stay at Le Richelieu for 30 years, when I lived in New Orleans. It’s not the jewel it once was, but for our stay it was perfect. The staff was friendly and efficient. Sadly, the beautiful bar is no longer open. The coffee was really bad. But a bucket list item was experienced and we had a grand time!
