This was the grossest hotel room I have ever seen. Furniture was dirty, electrical didn’t work, locks were broken and smoke detectors were hanging from the ceilings not working. Towels were stained, rugs were filthy and the kicker was there was a knife shoved into a chair cushion in the lobby. The guy at the front desk was friendly and helpful enough but this hotel should be shut down and abandoned immediately.

The hotel is quite outdated and unfortunately had a strong unpleasant smell throughout the property, including marijuana. The room was also not ready at check-in time. Overall, the experience was disappointing and not what I expected.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this hotel earned every bit of this one. From the moment I walked into the room, it was obvious that cleanliness was not a priority. The floors were dirty, there were stains on the furniture and bedding, the bathroom looked like it hadn't been properly cleaned in weeks, and there was a musty odor throughout the room. I genuinely questioned whether the room had been cleaned before my arrival. The condition of the facility was just as bad. The hallways were damaged and poorly maintained, walls were scuffed, carpets were stained, and several areas looked like they had been neglected for years. Everything felt run-down, dirty, and frankly, gross. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. I was extremely disappointed that a hotel would charge guests for accommodations in this condition. I would not recommend this property to anyone, and I will absolutely never stay here again. Save yourself the frustration and book somewhere else.

To preference this was my first time staying in Baltimore. Some of my family had warned me about certain areas but I did feel secure in the hotel. If you are used to hotel security and controlled access like major hotel chains this might not be the hotel for you. This is the hotel that you hide out at. The room was very spacious and has some charm. The hotel overall has had some work done and I can't knock it off too much due to it being a historical building. One thing I did see is that the building did not have an elevator which is fine. When I arrived at the hotel, I requested a room on the second floor but somehow the rooms were not cleaned. This is very surprising since there are roughly 3 to 4 rooms per floor. If you are taller the steps will be a workout for you. Overall, I slept well and enjoyed the quietness. Some things to mention are lack of exits and room service. There is not any room service to refresh any towels or to take out trash. I stayed more than a couple of days so you can imagine a couple of days of takeout filling up the small trash can. If there is an emergency all of the windows are sealed and you would need to still, make it down the stairs which would be a lot considering there are only two ways to exit.
