The bath tub was dirty and uninviting.Front door was miserable looking. Two bedside night stands looked like they had been burglarized. Soap dispenser empty. We found a half filled soda bottle under the bed. Any insects in the area looking for a place to stay would love this room because of the big gap at the bottom of the entrance door. The bottom of the toilet seat was stained and unappealing.

Rooms smell musty. The door to our room was warped so it didn't close properly. The rooms do not have a sprinkler system. Only one of our rooms had a smoke detector. TV was hot wired to the outlet.

Unfortunately, the property is very run down and shows from the outside to the inside of the hotel. The cover on the bed was stained. The outlet at the sink did not work making using a hair dryer, etc impossible at the mirror. There was NO smoke detector, which I assume would be a major fire hazard and violation. The furniture and in room refrigerator were very beat up and worn. And finally, the environment in the parking lot felt unsafe and suspicious and stunk of marijuana. The only good thing was the price compared to other hotels in the St. Joe and Benton Harbor area.

The room was in desperate need of repair. The door was difficult to maneuver and the key didn't work the second day. I had to go to the office and wait in line to get it reprogrammed. The room needed to be repainted. Also, the smoke detector was missing, the light above the sink didn't work, some of the electrical outlets were loose, and there was a rip in the comforter. Outside of the room, there was a constant smell of Marijuana.
