Days Inn by Wyndham Kirksville

No upkeep in the place. Lobby was huge and could be spectacular but it had boxes, cords, none working bar, none working vending, none working hot tub, and no upkeep. Had a mower belt in the planter. Tables in lobby were dirty with empty bottles, sunflower seeds and garbage when we checked in and all was still there when we checked out.

This place is a zero star dive. So bad we walked out and found a different hotel. Literally 100 degrees in the lobby. Zero a/c. The pool in the lobby was drained and moldy. The bar is permanently shut down. We went into our room to find the beds weren’t made, all the furniture was pulled away from the wall. Everything was unplugged as well. Went back to the front desk to find out they didn’t have any rooms ready and would have to wait for them to get one cleaned. This was well after check in time. The smell was also terrible! I want a refund. This place should be condemned and shut down immediately!!!!!! Give me my money back!!!! My wife said there is no way in hell we are staying here so we literally just walked out.

It’s an old building and it looks like an old building. The pool was murky and the carpet around the pool was old and soggy. The elevator worked half the time. Nothing hot for breakfast , just Little Debbie type wrapped cinnamon rolls , snacks and poptarts. The room we stayed in was clean - no complaints about the room. It was quiet. The property is on the edge of town , so nothing is walkable and the food is down the highway a bit.

The main air conditioning unit was out, so the lobby and breakfast area were warm, but the staff were doing the best to keep it cool with the doors open. The gentleman at the desk was also very accommodating and provided some ice that he actually brought up to the room. There apparently are no ice machines on the floors at this point.

Hotel has definitely gone down since last year stay, no ice machine. Hot water was seriously lacking, was told before arrival the pool was heated(it isn’t) the “hot” breakfast was not hot and only had either a waffle or hard biscuit and gravy, missing eggs and sausage from last stay, hot tub worked, lobby was very cold, was also told before our dog could stay for extra $15 which was fine, then we get there and told its $15 per night, early check in (half hour) was $20. I like this hotel but the decline and suprise fees /lack of breakfast is a bit much to consider for next time

No AC, trash piled up on 2nd floor (bags and bags), bathroom tub beyond filthy. Front desk often unmanned and no staff could be found. Pictures on expedia do not reflect present state of hotel. I did find all linens to be fresh and clean. Thank you.

Main a/c was out , only reason i stayed was the air in the room worked. But it was end of the long hall, breakfast was not pleasant in that heat, and wasn’t as good as a few months ago, no maintenance crew this time? , had a great stay a few months ago, I stayed there to save $100 from the Baymont, but next time I will spend the extra. Definitely has gone down, even the arcade games weren’t working by the pool

The property looked like it was very nice at one time. Now the lobby was hot and reeked of cigarette smoke. The pool and hot tub were small but worked well. The gym equipment was broken. The room was comfortable and seemed clean. The beds are comfortable although the pillows are to soft for me. The shower curtain has mold along the bottom. When we enter the room it was warm. The ac was off but cooled off quickly once we turned it on. It was acceptable for the one night we were there.

The room was clean and air conditioned, but no coffee maker or cups. We are in our late 70s and the elevator only worked part of the time. The lobby and hallways were open to the outside air and not air conditioned. All of the tables in the eating area were not cleaned. When we mentioned the elevator problem the clerk said stairs were good exercise. The price was fairly cheap, but the parking lot and driveway were full of potholes. Probably won't stay there again.

The bathroom shower didn't work and neither did our TV the floors looked like that haven't been vacuumed and the dead bugs in the window was disgusting they wouldn't even change the room no one working there seemed to know English it was a disaster

Stayed a few years ago and it was decent so we gave it another try. BAD idea. We had reserved a double queen and got double full size beds. The bathroom shower was full of black mold, and the shower curtain had it all over also. The shower still had a used bottle of shampoo in it. And the beds were disgusting, as if they just remade them after someone else stayed in them. They were full of hairs in between the sheets and top blanket cover. The whole room smelled like old lady perfume. The breakfast was okay, the apple juice had chunks of stuff floating in it but the food was overall okay. The hallway smelled terrible the next morning like something rotten. Definitely would not recommend to anyone.

Day 3 and housekeeping never came to our room. I went to the front desk and was told “we decided not to clean the rooms unless we’re specifically asked to”. We were short a towel and when we went to get one, we were asked to come back at 11:00. The elevator was disgustingly dirty, and the second floor always smelled like someone was cooking. Our keys didn’t work after checking in and then on day 4 had to go down twice to get a working key. Then I found out from a local that the reputation in town is that it’s used for hourly transactions. I’m not staying there again.

1 of our beds had a dirty fitted sheet. The sink in the bathroom was clogged and did not drain properly. The toilet needed flushed multiple times in order for the water to go out. And worse than all that, there were cockroaches on the bathroom vanity.

Rooms are disgusting the air conditioner filters were dirty room smelled musty. math tub had not been cleaned had someone’s hair shavings in it. nail trimmings on bathroom floor. The bed protector cover was very soiled and dirty carpet needed to be shampooed and vacuumed. when i booked it the total was 156.82 but when i checked in it was $300.70 had i of known this i would not have stayed no cleaner than it was.

linen were dirty with blood stains, lamp shades had cigarette burn. Had a one week stay and pool was very unsanitary and not cleaned entire stay. Trash in hallways so overall was very unhappy with the stay. Would highly discourage ever recommending this facility. Staff was very unaccommodating was told to handle it ourselves. Had a very foul smell throughout entire hotel. felt very unsafe due to double lock completely missing

Well where to begin. Got into my room, found two different pairs of dirty socks. Candy wrappers, and there was still somebody's pubic hair in the tub. But worst of all is the black mold in the gym bathroom. Will never stay there again.

Dirty dirty dirty!

This property needs to be shut down or bulldozed. Very dirty. Don’t pay extra for the “Queen” beds because they are truly “Double” beds. Sheets and bed skirts are the only thing that are Queen size. Fitted sheet wouldn’t even stay on bed. Dust and grime everywhere. Smelled like dead rodents in the hallway. I love breakfast food, but after looking at the very small selection, I CHOSE to only drink coffee. We stayed at this property three years ago and I honestly think it has not been cleaned since then. Even the plants were dead in the lobby…maybe because there were beer cans in the planter base.

This place is extremely dirty and stinky. when I first step in I smell strong Marijuana and the room smells so stinky and bad. Found little tiny black stuff on both bedsheets. Some Blood stinky spots too on the bedsheet. Horrible. At around 9pm, no Hot water for showing. Tried to ask for a cup of hot water, the front desk told me to microwave it myself ?? I don't want to use the dirty microwave honestly. Dust all over the breakfast area, appliances, didn't want to touch it. Sofa in the Lobby has lots of stains too. didn't want to sit on.

The hotel felt dirty and check in took way longer than necessary. I booked a smoke free room. The entire hallway smelt like smoke and the room to, had to move rooms

It is 90 degrees outside and all the doors were open because the air conditioning is not working. The property is disgusting. Run down, not clean, uncared for. There was no one at the front desk when we arrived. I calle several times and waited15 minutes for some one to check us in. When he arrived he explained that the air conditioning was broken and they expect someone within 48 hours to fix it! Thankfully the rooms are air conditioned separately. In the room there is a tv, refrigerator and microwave. The tv is tiny compared to other hotels. I will NEVER stay here again.

We were happy they could accommodate our late night arrival, but as we approached the area, police lights were everywhere and multiple patrol cars and officers were at the entrance and parking lot. Kinda scary. Our room was ok, but the smell was overwhelming. The TV, fridge and microwave were plugged into a power strip waded on the floor. Also the direct TV box and I discovered a air freshener unit was plugged in as well. The sheets were clean and the towels too in the morning we decided to hang out to use the hot tub and pool. Water was clear but the hot tub s anything but. Very disappointed to say the least.

The pool was not that clean. The first room i were in the TV didn't work and was missing amenities, had to be moved to a different room after unpacking, really inconvenient. The breakfast was really good they provided .

This hotel is very dated. Elevator was sketchy at best. Mattress appeared to be an original from when hotel was built. You could feel the springs

Property is a bit old, the beds are sunken in, uncomfortable to lay on. Bathroom was clean, carpets were dirty. The walls are thin so you can hear a lot of noise at night coming from outside. Rooms have everything you need! Mini fridge, microwaves, iron board which is a plus. Amazing and kind staff, very helpful!! For the price, it’s a deal!

Staff were friendly and competent; three of the four lamps in our room didn’t turn on (but we also didn’t ask for new bulbs or anything—just opened curtains wider).

Checking in, the atrium was very hot. Front doors were open and ceiling fans were on for cooling. Had to wait to check in due to the desk being out of key cards. The elevator was really dirty and smelled with bugs in the ceing light. It looked like they had done some painting and carpet replacement in the hallways, but the room was in bad shape. The a/c was turned way down when we came in but the room felt damp and there was a musty smell. The smoke alarm was missing from the wall in the room and there was a very old power strip that the TV and other things were plugged into. I tried to plug my phone into the strip but when I touched it, the power blinked out. A fire hazard and no smoke alarm are a bad combination. I had reserved a king bed but ended up with two doubles. I'm not the biggest guy in the world, but my feet hung off the end. There were stains on the carpet and on the sheets on one of the beds (didn't sleep in that one), and the night stand had water damage on the top. The TV was also too big for the dresser top and the feet stands hung over the sides. The bathroom didn't have enough towels for all occupants. The breakfast wasn't good either. Apparently the guy working the front desk must live there and run the whole place since he was there late and first thing in the morning to work in the kitchen. The kicker was we paid about 2x the going rate since there was an event in town. Never again.

Reasonable price, comfortable bed, good value

We will not be staying here again. 1. They asked for $50 cash as a security deposit when checking in. After discussion it was determined that this could be added to the bill if needed as our credit card was on file. 2. The shower curtain would not stay closed as the curtain rod was not installed properly. 3. The elevator went from 2nd floor to first but would not go up to 2nd from first floor. 4. There was some kind of pounding outside the room at 5am. 5. The hair dryer provided was cracked open. It did run but not safely. When I took it down to the desk he asked if it worked and that he would duct tape it. 6. The biscuits and gravy at breakfast were at room temperature. No heat. The eggs were barely warm. 7. The orange juice was in an unrefrigerated dispenser. 8. The coffee had coffee grounds in the bottom of the cup. 9. There was no butter for the toast or waffles. 10. Only half of the ceiling had been painted in the room. 11. The ice machine did not work.

The customer service of the front desk staff is exceptional. Representative Raj and others who we interacted with were very prompt and attentive and went above and beyond to accommodate our big group of 10 people in 3 rooms.

The AC in the main area did not work and felt awful. There was no one at the front desk when I was checking in at 4pm. A sign at the desk said to use the phone off to the right to call for service and there was no answer. Waited about 20 min for someone to finally show up to check in. The room was filthy, shower curtain moldy, smoke streaks in the ceiling, missing smoke detector but the base for it and the wires were still there. Breakfast was a joke and everything just felt dirty. Lobby bathrooms were basically destroyed with several lights out and no toilet paper or seat covers stocked in any of the stalls. Hotel seems to be used mainly for traveling workers like railroad workers and such that stay for extended periods of time. Trying to find anyone for extra towels is impossible. I seriously would like my money back or a free stay credited to my account. A Quick Look at other reviews paint a similar picture. 10/10 would not recommend.

We travel for work and stay in a lot of hotels. This was, by far, the worst hotel stay ever. Started at check-in when it took multiple tries to get room keys that worked. The room immediately smelled musty and mildew was on shower curtain. We unloaded our items and left for plans. Returned late and keys did not work again. After about an hour of trying to get help to get into room she said she would get us in another room but all of our belongings were in the first room including our medications. She said we would just have to wait until morning for.oir stuff. I declined. She got upset and said "well, I can't call the manager, it's too late.". I responded that was unacceptable and someone needed to come open the door manually. While we waited for manager to drive from St Louis, we were moved to a 2 Q from a King, even though hotel wasn't 1/3 full. Room was dirty, no towels and ac didn't work. The manager arrived just before 4am. The overnight clerk was repeatedly rude, unreasonable and emotional. At one point, began crying telling me her life's issues and that we shouldn't have put this much stress on her and just waited for the morning. The whole issue was bc the battery was dead on the key pad and no one was closer than 3 hours away that had a manual key. Too many other issues to fit but I encourage everyone to run the other direction.

We have nothing good to say about this property. We called 3 days in advance to request a room away be added to our room. We were told just to let them know when we check in. We did that only to be told they didn't have any available. So 2 children had to sleep on the floor on blankets. There were cigarette butts all over the sidewalk right outside the door. Ashtray overflowing. Halls were smelly. The pool was cold. Hot tub jets didn't work. Mattresses were uncomfortable and sagging in the middle. We contacted the front desk (via our cell phone because the room phone had no cord) to tell them the tv wasn't working. It said no signal. We were told they'd be up in a few minutes. They never showed up. This list is long enough. I won't review the so called breakfast.

If you are a hotel snob, then you should pick another hotel. For the rest of us normal travelers, it's a fitting place to sleep.

Friendly and helpful staff

The check-in was great and we had a minor issue about checking in and they solved it instantly. Breakfast was an absolute minimum. In fact, it was pitiful. Room was clean and warm even though the cover over the heater was messed up.

I like the location..... because is near everything in Kirksville.

Far removed from the town. The restaurant and bar was great though!

Nice clean place to stay in and quiet. You will need transportation to get around but a few other places deliver. You can’t beat the price and the staff were great!

Great older Hotel with lots of things for kids to enjoy. Swimming, billiards and game room. I have used the workout room almost every visit. I have stayed here for years and though there needs to be some improvement, it’s still quiet having its location on the outskirts of town. It’s barely 10 minutes to the downtown district.

At check in there were room service carts in the middle of the hall. There were linen piles by some of the doors. There was not a working ice machine for self-service. I am sure that at one time this property was prime, but now it is substandard. When returning after supper there were still cleaning carts and linen pile issues in the hall along with a bag of trash against the pop machine. The bag remained when we left the next morning. The TV was not operating properly, and we needed someone to come up and repair the connections. We did have a spacious, clean room with a very comfortable bed. And the price was very fair. I miss having a coffee maker in the room though !!! But we were very comfortable, and it was a quiet night for slumber. Breakfast was good but nothing special. Better than some we have experienced. My wife loves a good "waffle"! And I am a sausage man, And we were right by campus for our Granddaughter's basketball game.

Don’t get fooled by offer of breakfast. Very limited spread, no warm or fresh foods/pastries was even out of milk for cereal

The motel was very nice in it's day. It appears that since it's latest ownership change maintenance and guest services have been relaxed. The shower rod in the bathroom had been replaced but the holes in the walls from the previous rod were not filled and painted. The beds were comfortable. The continental breakfast was probably the worst I have ever had. Luke warm coffee, juice machine not working and the breakfast items did not look appetizing or fresh and were far away from the drink counter. The hotel had a curry smell throughout. That said it was a fair deal for the money just not the quality establishment that the pictures seem to portray.

It was fine for a one night stay. The pool and hottub were open but we did not use them. The room was older but clean. The AC worked wonderfully. The “comforter” was more like a second sheet. And the “breakfast” was a few granola bars and cereal. I had hoped for at least a muffin. Overall I felt safe and clean so it was a good stay.

Large indoor common area was nice. Two remotes required for tv. Fan in bath had cover on floor and exposed wires. Carpet dirty. Breakfast bar wiped out of several products by 6:45 a.m..tables dirty. Food not labeled. Juice not cold.
