Motel 6-Sedalia, MO

My expectations were low to begin with, but some areas of this hotel were surprisingly filthy. We only stayed 1 night & that was plenty. No elevator, so not disabled compliant. Didn’t see a single person working the morning of checkout. This hotel has been stripped of most amenities, you get an ice bucket and a phone, and a handful of towels. Don’t expect any drawers nor a clock. Or a closet…there were a few hangers on the wall. The silver dots in the wall appeared to be buckshot (?) The bathroom sink was clean & appeared newish. The toilet lid was missing. The shower…oh God the shower…seriously filthy with used bars of soap still on the upper ledge. The bed sheets & comforters appeared newer & were clean. Ugh, won’t go back unless I’m really desperate.

The place from the time we walked in until we left was filthy. The stairs going up to the rooms looked like it hadnt been cleaned in years. There were weeds outside the window that couldve easily been trimmed. The bathtub was peeling its puter coating. For the price we paid we were given a tiny bar of soap and no shampoo. The vending machine only had Doritos and there was nowhere to get a soda or water.

There was no elevator unbelievable

Nothing to brag about, didn't even have the basics. No wash cloth and towels were small so you had to use two. There was no remote for the TV, had to call the front desk to bring one then it took him forever to get it to work. Had several ice machines but only one worked

Checkin with a prior reservation was a breeze. The room was modern and clean with plenty of light. The bed was comfy. However, I noticed when using the back door to the parking near my room, the outside door doesn't lock! That's not a big concern though since there's a deadbolt on my door, the Motel 6 is in a good area of town, and Sedalia is not a high-crime town anyway.

Elevator did not work. Had to carry luggage 3 flights. No luggage carts to transport luggage. No safety latch on door. Very noisy all night long with drunks running up and down the hallway. The staff did nothing to help. Very disappointed with entire stay.

Vending machines didn't have selection of snacks

It was horrible there was no snack bar as stated on line they had a vending machine with only Doritos in every spot available n a drink vending machine that took my money! There were roaches all over in the room it got in my did while I was sitting there eating at the table I turned for one minute to get a drink n when I came back there was a roach in my food I was awaken to a roach crawling on my covers! The room was small n no where to hang anything or put things so I ended up living out of a suitcase! There was no microwave in my room I had to get one from the front desk! I seen an elderly man struggling to carry a heavy bucket so I kindly took the bucket to help him he asked me to set the bucket in his door so I opened the door to his room on the 1st floor room 101 n you could’ve bought me for a penny bc it looked like an episode of Hoarders Buried Alive oh my God it was so pitiful n the nastiest thing my eyes have ever seen in person like that there were roaches climbing up the wall you could not see the floor bc of all the trash n stuff that was covering it I seen all types of old molded food on the floor clothes piled up the side of the wall it’s apparent he must live there as in resides there but the condition of that room alone is unlivable n even more so dangerous n it is affecting the entire hotel that’s probably the source of the bugs idk but it was disgustingly upsetting they said they would reimburse me 40% from the roaches n move me to another room they did not

This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, the halls were dirty, the room had stains on the walls and ceiling, the bathroom mirror was missing, the tub was so dirty and had so many holes that had putty on it I wouldn’t let my 6 year old take a bath, the toilet took 20 minutes to fill the bowl and didn’t flush. There wasn’t any blankets available, the thin comforter had holes in it. The beds were hard as a rock and pillows were inadequate. The whole motel stank. There was a dog that barked all night and front desk wouldn’t do anything about it. Also how do you have a 3 story motel without an elevator.

The room smelled and it was damp in the room. Do not recommend. The bathroom was disgusting, areas had not been cleaned in decades.

This facility was extremely dirty, when first got into the room there was toenail clipping on the floor, hair already in the bed, tv did not work. Staff did clean the room after asking them to. Another incident that happened during the day, after returning back to hotel from work, there was not even joking poop on the wall in the hallway. After alerting the guy at the front desk that there was literal poop on the wall, he said he would have somebody clean it up the next day. The smell was so horrendous. went back downstairs and stood there till the guy called his manager and gave them passing on my number to call me. Will never be stay here again

Nothing clean. Nails in parking lot toilet paper on the steps to get to the rooms upstairs. Room 218 had chipped and broken furniture, and cob webs around night stands. And dirty floors. Chipped and nasty bath tub.

The only thing clean were the sheets on the bed. The room was dusty, stained and just dirty. Gross.

The service was fine I guess, the whole building smelled like mice and BO the carpets in the hallway were dirty, and the toilet in my room hadn’t been cleaned from the last time the room was occupied. Do not recommend

Absolutely filthy room. Shower was so filthy i wore shoes in the shower and was careful not to touch anything. Two towels, two hand towels, and one washrag in the bathroom. Used bar of soap left in the shower. No shampoo. Conditioner, or body wash. Only a tiny bar of soap supplied. (We asked...They didnt have any). Carpets and hallways were creepy and dirty. Each bed had two of the flattest pillows you have ever seen. When we asked for more pillows, they said they didnt have any. Top "blanket" on the bed was literally a super thin sayin type sheet with paint stains all over it. The floor was so disgusting that we had to wear shoes or socks that we removed before we got in the bed because anything on your feet got disgusting. Walls inside the rooms were filthy. Not regular filthy, like caked on junk on the outlets and black smeared something on the walls. There were also tons of brown drips of some random liquid all over. I seriously doubt the sheets were fresh as i pulled them back and saw marks that looked almost like a shoeprint. We stayed two nights(only because we prepaid) the first morning we woke up there was a cockroach on the floor. I have never been so disgusted at a motel. We were in town for the fair and i would have rather slept in the barn with our animals. WE WILL NEVER RETURN. Very nasty, hoping i didnt bring any bugs back with me. I can deal with a very basic room, but this was a new level of disgust. Spend a little more, stay elsewhere.

Cleanliness: toilet in room not cleaned, looks like floor wasn’t vacuumed, hairball in shower, what few towels there were stained (only 3 pieces, wash rag, shower towel & shower foot mat, no hand towels). Stairs had old chicken bones on them from someone’s dropped trash & old Q tips. No sign of any breakfast, snacks, coffee, juice or ?

Our first room a the bathroom had blood in the tube and dried urine on the walls and around the toilet dirty towels from the prior guest the air conditioner stopped working sometime threw the nite and flood the room floor. Had black mold above the bathtub and they painted while we was out and the fumes from the paint was over whelming when we returned. The second room the moved us to had the prior guest dirty closes still hanging in the bathroom

Overall, I couldn’t get out of this hotel fast enough. There is no air conditioning throughout the hallways, so it was hot and smelly. The carpets in the hallway and the stairs looked like nobody had vacuumed them in a month. Our room and bathroom just needed a deep clean. The bed was hard as a rock.

The extra lock was broken and the tv wouldn’t work

Get what you pay for. Two flights of stairs for a senior citizen. Room itself was fine. Biggest issue was noise. All night long I could hear people talking and music. Good location. Warm dry bed. No amenities.

Room look nice, clean, BUT mattress is too hard to sleep

It was 103° outside and the AC unit did not work. They brought me a whole fan that’s not horrible and when I woke up, there were three roads in the room.

You get what you pay for. Have stayed several time now. First time my tub was falling apart. 2nd time had no issues. This third time, there was used soap and wrapper still in the bathtub and my biggest issue was that there was no manual lock on the inside of the door. There were holes in the door where the lock had been, but the lock was gone. As a woman staying alone, I should have gone back and requested a different room, but it was late and I was tired. If the doors locks were missing, it should not have been offered until repaired.

The baseboard and some walls were dirty. There was a hole in the wall by the ac, the tub coating was peeling, the bathroom door was held together by masking tape, and the curtains had holes in them.

Horrible place to stay!!! Very noisy and we found out they rent by the week and was a very rough group of ppl staying there! Lots of screaming and cursing and dogs barking!

Clean but the bed was uncomfortable

Bed was uncomfortable. Both my dad and I had to visit the chiropractor after our stay. They need to invest in new mattresses

It was a clean and quiet place to stay. Worth the money. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

Never got to stay at the Motel 6. Motel 6 did not have a room reserved for me. Went through Expedia to make the reservation, everything went good. Got to Motel 6….no room. Had to go to Super 7 motel on the other side of town.

Check in process was horrible. In addition to not understanding or speaking English clearly (and I can’t speak Farsi) the front desk attendant admitted that he gave my room away thinking I would not arrive since it was after midnight! I asked for a first floor room due to a medical condition and what I ended up with was a room on the third floor (and NO elevator) near the far end… the weather was 92 degrees with 88% humidity meaning it was a muggy night even in the early hours… the window in the room was open and the a/c unit off…. It took up to 2 hours to cool the room down and dehumidify to make it tolerable to sleep… seriously thought about leaving but didn’t want to carry my luggage back DOWN three flights of stairs and to the opposite end of the building to turn the key in and I was so done with the front desk guy… the only saving grace was the bed! Cheap towels didn’t dry you off after a cool shower to wash the sweat off from walking up three flights of stairs… will not book there again…

Dirt in hallways. There was a sock that laid in the hallway on day 1 and was still there day 2. Our TV was not working, went to call front desk to find our phone was not working either. Had to call from our own cell, they said they would come up to fix it. Waited 30 minutes and said screw it and went to bed. When speaking to staff, he was pleasant.

Clean room, quiet and friendly staff!

During check in, she could not find the reservation for the 2nd room until I showed it to her on my phone. I reserved 2 non smoking king bed rooms. I was given 1 queen non smoking room and a double queen smoking room (which she did not tell me was a smoking room. I found that out as soon as I opened the door to the room). I went back to get a non smoking room. After much deliberation she was able to find a non smoking room with 2 queen beds. The entire time I was at the desk, she was on the phone with someone else speaking in a foreign language. I find this very rude. I do have to say that the 3rd shift desk lady was VERY nice and accommodating.

I and my partner were rudely berated by the female front desk staff over a simple misunderstanding. I tried several times to apologize to her in an attempt to resolve the issue, but she continued to raise her voice to me and call me rude. I finally just walked away and returned to my room. The issue was finally resolved, but I will never book here again.

Clean and great people to work with

Great service the whole team there was very accomidating and worked with me when I had a issue.

There was an overwhelming curry odor that didn't go away. The guests staying around my room were noisy late into the night and early in the morning. Not the hotels fault, per se, but they should enforce volume with their guests. I was moved from my original room due to a nonworking TV remote but I didn't realize until too late that the room I moved into was missing the safety look. Also, the sheet I had on the bed, while being clean, had a cigarette burn mark. The place is supposed to be smoking free. Where I was told would be easiest for me to get to my room was the side door where guest would stand and smoke. The ground outside was covered with cigarette butts. Otherwise, the location is convenient and had secure parking.

I like the fact that there's a Walmart across the road there's Chinese restaurant right behind it would do not like about it it's got roaches and bed bugs I would not recommend this will tell them my friends or family

Burn holes in the sheets, old salami in the fridge with mold on it, no coffee available, room had no windows and staff didn't give a flyingfuck for these poor conditions. I know its a Motel 6 so my expectations weren't SUPER high, but come on.

When we got to our room the main light fixtures were burned out. The toilet lid came off and hit the ground. The shower was not cleaned and still had a used bar of soap in the shower. There was no coffee or coffee maker in the room. The only thing offered in the restroom was bar soap.
