Parking was fine, the room was disgusting, smelled so bad and the sheets was stained. Couldn't figure out how to turn shower on for about 15 min. gave you a very tiny bottle of shampoo/conditioner mix. It was just a horrible stay and will never go back.

Ample parking area, and the surroundings were quiet and peaceful. Not on the main street, so there was minimal traffic noise. Nice clean rooms and clean bathrooms. Large TV screen, and ample room to put luggage and move around. Comfortable bed and pillow. Much needed air conditioner kept the temperature just right!

Didn't like 3 police cars & ambulance in the parking lot. And if someone drives or walks in at night, the parking lot lights up like a scene from a murder. Not exactly making staying there feel safe. Room appeared to being very recently updated but the TV is put where you hit it each time you use the bathroom (I'm 6'2"). Took forever to check in. Had to stay in the 'vestibule' which had NO air conditioning and after 5 minutes I had sweated thru my shirt. Was in there a good half hour before getting the key pad that wasn't programed so had to walk back down to get that fixed.

Their was a horrible smell in the room. Also we killed several cockroaches. There were burn holes in the blankets also.

The room had flies, cobwebs, and was musty. There was food left in the microwave. The staff was really nice, so I feel bad with this review, but I would never stay here again.

I'm going to go ahead and do you a favor. Just avoid it altogether. At $60 a night, I wasn't expecting a 5 star hotel. However, I was also not expecting for things to be so disorganized and dangerous. Cockroaches running around, lamp wires frayed and exposed, no toiletries, dirty linens, 50's attic smell. Etc It was so bad that I ended up only staying in there 5 hours and slept in my clothes on top of the blankets and doused myself in disinfectant. STAY AWAY!

The room we were assigned was dirty, the floor was covered with leaves and the toilet looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks it was full of nasty looking water. Will not stay here again!

There was a big big spider in the room on the wall in the closet area and a roach crawling on the table. Then they said they had a king bed on the app n didn’t so they gave us a double bed room

Clean rooms. Stayed 3 nights. Friendly staff. I stayed at 2 other hotels in the area and this one was my fave out of the budget hotels.

Booked room at $89, which we thought was odd because of State Fair, but that’s what it showed. Got there and we were charged 170!!!! Room was hot, had flys, big gap in door, a wasp in bathroom and when we pulled back blanket had 2 dead bugs in the bed!! We left and drove home. Done with this hotel and Hotels.con.

The towels were ßtained the bed look like someone had already slept in it the pillows were stained and real old. If I was dieing and this was the only place to stay I would rather sleep in the street. I would not recommend this place to anyone. You know the saying you get what u pay for.

I had room 106. The first bed whatever they use to hold it up was broken. All night the bed kept moving around i almost fell out. There were no towel holders. Both beds top sheet possibly comforter had several burnt cigarettes holes as we were told people are to smoke outside. If you can't handle smoking smells like we could not do not go here. They can smoke outside right next to your door. We had 2 nights here and I will not pick this place next time.

Room had no heat, management did nothing. Had to leave and get a room elsewhere

The property is an old style motel, with rooms arranged around a parking area in the shape of a C. The rooms are heated by a wall mounted heating and air conditioning unit. My room was cold when I arrived (early February) as if the heat had not been maintained recently, and it took all evening and all night for the room to warm up, with the setting on 78 degrees. Although the room had ducts in the floor for HVAC, it was apparently not functional. Better to stay here in the spring and fall.

Small room, two beds fit tight. Cleanliness was okay.

Booked a King Room, property didn’t have a king so put us in a double and up-charged for room. I have never been to a hotel that up-charged when you booked a room type that they did not have when you arrived. My experience has been they switch your room type but do not up-charge and apologize for the inconvenience. SCAM!!! The rooms are old, ugly, outdated and EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY SMALL!!! The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever tried to sleep in, worn out mattress, that dipped in the middle. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone, TERRIBLE!!!

My room and bed were smaller than I expected. I thought the bed would be a Queen instead of a Full. The office staff were strange as they didn't seem used to American customs yet. The office was closed without notice as to when the person would return. There was also some loud music coming from another room after 10:00 pm. I didn't call to complain, but I thought this would be more appropriate place to address this situation.

The convenience drive to the fair is good but the motel is very run down. Bathroom very small

Checked into the room which was very small and couldn’t get rid of the flies! The bathroom toilet lid and seat would not stay up to pee and when you sat down the toilet seat cover was hitting your back! 😬

This is the sketchiest flea bag I’ve ever stayed in. 3 resident flies I could evict. Although the spider in the bed had a different outcome. While the WiFi was free it was too weak for my iPad to have internet access. No breakfast or even coffee available. A small window unit keeping it comfy though. And the shower was hot and good. So if you are looking for somewhere to just sleep and shower and aren’t too picky, the price is right.

Cleaner than most older motels. Small but was more than adequate for an overnight stay on a hunting trip. Heat/air unit was quiet and there was a good sized TV to watch. Plenty of restaurants nearby.

Web site has smoking rooms but when I get there the state law says NO smoking. And I was charged $30 for smoking room and they wouldn't refund

The lady that checked me in was very nice.

Horrible Service and Unsafe conditions, I canceled the day I got there, due to unsafe and dirty conditions. No one was there when I went to check in and I left and tried calling with no response or being able to leave a message on option 2.... The owner was supposed to call me and never did, and they charged my card the next day for 10 nights and said that's what I booked and can't cancel. I told them they can charge for one night, but this was still wrong, and she was not helpful and hung up on me. I am disputing the charge but if this is not taken care of, I plan 100% to litigate and will take the owner to court over this. I can only imagine they do this nonsense to others and this time choose the wrong person who will spend the money to call them out for these bad business practices and unsafe conditions. I am giving them notice and a chance to fix this, but they seem to not care.

Would not honor my reservation, said I wasn't in the system even though I had my reservation papers in hand. But she magically had a room I could have but it was 50 to 60 dollars more for the two night stay. The water was shut off to the toilet for some reason, the shower head was broken to the point it was nearly impossible to keep the water in the shower, was no soap supplied in the restroom.

Rooms smelled musty and bathrooms were covered in black mold. There were people drinking outside their rooms and music blasting in the parking lot. Checked in at 2:30 and left by 9pm. I refused to stay somewhere that made me feel unsafe. They said I was lying about the whole situation when I asked for a partial refund. Im out $140 but I refused to put my family in danger for a place to sleep.

When I went to check in there was no room reservation for us. I had a copy of our itinerary number for our room. They had nothing in their system. They had no open rooms. Called Orbitz customer service was on the line for more than an hour trying to figure out issue at American Inn and trying to find another room in Sedalia which was not possible due to an event scheduled there for the weekend. We had to travel to another town which was an hour away and book our own room. No compensation was offered for our inconvenience, phone data, time or more than anything stress and frustration..

I got there a little early than check in time, she told me she was waiting on my sheets to get done so she could make the bed, not a problem she checked me in and I went to go get something to eat, bed was made room clean but dated not a problem with me, going to bed I pulled the comforter and sheets back, the comforter had stains and so did the sheets, went to work next day came back room clean but only 1 cup left for coffee for Wednesday, not a problem thought they would put more in when they cleaned again, much to my surprise came back from work room was not even touched, the rest of the week didn’t clean or empty trash and not even the sheets or anymore towels or coffee until Friday, emptied trash gave towels no coffee and didn’t even change the sheets, I’m glad I booked on line I would no pay the 50 dollar charge if you just walk in, even booking on line was still a little to much for there. Good location for restaurants though
