Upon entering the room we found that their were wholes in the bathroom wall that had spiders coming out, upon expressing to the staff they had someone come up and put clear tape over the wholes and sprayed it with bleach. Our room also smelled of mold/mildew. The only option for parking was valet, extremely inconvenient. We had to wait about 45 mins each time to retrieve our vehicle.

Had a one bedroom suite on the 24th floor, good size, plenty of room. However, the water pressure in the shower was a joke, I’ve seen drain pipes with more water pressure, hard to get soap and shampoo off your body, put a damper on the stay. The lobby bar was hit or miss, sometimes open, sometimes not, couldn’t figure that one out.

The Sonesta provided a nice stay. The hotel was extremely busy and the there was a wait for elevators throughout the stay. The restaurant and bar on site are a plus. I also enjoyed the pool however the bar at the pool should take credit cards but they don’t take cash. The hotel is walkable to shopping and the city center. The room was basic no microwave but fridge and coffee maker. I would stay again overall as it was a good location.

Everything was ok about the property except the pool area which wasn’t what I had pictured based on the online images. It was on a rooftop but far below our room. I had imagined it was way up high. Also there had been a ceiling leak in the cafe which made it unusable for 1 out of the 2 days I was there. The staff was great, very friendly and helpful when I asked for suggestions on places to go or eat.

Loved the location to the Academy of Music to see Alvin Ailey. Really didn't like the dining hours for the hotel. The ARt Bar didn't seem to have many workers. We were told that drinks are quick, but if we wanted food there would be a delay. The actual Art BAr Bartender sent us over to Ruth's Chris which was having a Happy Hour. We ate there and had great drinks. Only thing is they close around 10 PM and this was on a Friday night!! Also in the morning, only cold limited food for purchase and only Starbuck's coffee. We know it's popular, but we DON'T like the taste of Starbuck's. Only stayed overnight, but would have been nice to have some food and cocktails somewhere close if not in the hotel. On another note, mattress was EXcellent!!

I booked this hotel because of the reviews I read on Expedia. However, the property was nowhere close to the good reviews I read. The hotel is old and in need of upgrades. The room and bathroom were clean. The grout sound the toilet was FILTHY!!! There were rusty exposed pipes behind the toilet. The carpet in the hallways were stained. I can tell you that I will never stay here again. It was not worth the money.

I would give this place an 8 or 9 out of 10. My only complaints is that the bathroom ceiling paint was cracked and chipped. Also i saw a mouse 👀run through the room while i was watching tv. Keep in mind I didn't have any food laying around. Besides that i was satisfied

Got a corner room and when we checked in ~1700 hours. We noticed a blood stain on the sheets. Small speckle. No worries, called guest services to have them change it. The individual that picked up told me that house keeping left for the day. I asked about a different room, and they were sold out. They offered for a manager to call me back. Cool, went to the pool. Came back an hour later and called them back. They decided they did have someone to send up to change the sheets… Which makes me wonder, why give me all that hassle in the first place? They corrected the wrong and comped parking… Cool - appreciate it… Equally I don’t think that room was vacuumed in a few stays… little dirt debris in corners… but didn’t feel like going back and forth with guest services. Checked out next day… took then 30 minutes to get my vehicle… Yea I get it was busy, however there is “no system”. The screen that displays wait time doesn’t get updated. People that scanned their ticket after me were getting their cars first… No communication. Had an interaction with a valet employee night prior… since we couldn’t go get some stuff from the vehicle, they offered to go up and get it for us. Guy came back down and literally kept the items close to his body as if he wasn’t going to hand it over with us offering a tip. I had to literally grab the items from his body. Rude staff, extended wait times. Not so clean rooms. Stay elsewhere.

Staff was excellent. Room was just okay. Bathroom was pretty icky. Hair in the shower, toothpaste splatter on walls. Shower drain seemed to be slightly clogged. Wish the coffee shop was open later than 11:30. Especially for a conference hotel.

Our stay was going fine until we spotted a mouse in our room at 3am! & when we called the front desk, they just offered for us to switch rooms (we did) but the new room was worse than the first one. Phone didn’t work, low water pressure in the shower, big stains on the carpet, low department-store looking ceilings & uncomfortable beds. I haven’t had any issue with any other Sonesta before this.

It was okay. The housekeeper came barging into my room in the morning even though I had the “do not disturb” sign on the door. The pool closes at 8pm which is a bit early in my opinion. The rooms are starting to show their age. The corner room had a nice view, but I believe they’re smaller than the other rooms.

Excellent room with comfy beds and couch in fantastic location near Center City. Short walk to multiple great restaurants and only 15 minute walk to 30th St Station. Staff super friendly. Would definitely stay here again!

Overall I stay for the weekend was good. The number one positive was that they have the best bed I've ever slept in at a hotel. The number one negative is that they have some of the thinnest walls of ever experienced at a hotel.

During the last night of our stay, we were awakened around 12:30am by a very loud and persistent fire alarm telling us to "await further instructions" and that went on for a solid 20 minutes. As we were staying in a very high floor, I tried to decide whether we should stay, or start going down the stairs and was waiting to get further instructions from the hotel. (They had been texting me various info during the day, so clearly they have an easy way to communicate with guests, but no, we heard nothing.) Finally most people on the floor decided to start going down the stairs, which took a really long time since some people were elderly and some had young children. By the time we got down, the fire department was there and one firefighter told us that it was safe to return to our rooms. At that point, not a single communication was issued by the hotel management, in person or by text. We all lined up for a solid half hour for the elevators to go back to our rooms (imagine hundreds of people trying to get back up all at the same time). I reached out to the hotel to express my concern this morning and they replied the following: "Good Morning, the alarm was an emergency and thankfully no one was hurt. A guest left a candle lit in the room and the curtains caught fire. We will not be issuing any compensations but will offer a complimentary 1pm late check out if needed."

I stay here often. This time I tried to check in a couple hours early and they told me my room was available but that I would have to pay a $50 early check-in fee. I travel very often and I have never heard of this. I ended up having to argue with the lady at the front desk to not pay $50 extra. Ultimately the manager took the charge off, but it was a ridiculous thing to have to do. The lady at the front desk said that all hotels do this, but I know for a fact that that is not true. This made for an unpleasant experience from the second. I got there.

The AC went out at midnight, and they gave us a new room but deactivated the first room key. My husband went to sleep in the new room while I stayed with our small children as I didn't want to wake them up and move everything in the middle of the night. At 6:30 the next morning the fire alarm went off and the entire hotel evacuated...all of our stuff was left in the old room and we couldn't get in until we finally got through all the people to the front desk to request another key to the first room. Meanwhile I was late for my work conference that we were there for. When I asked for compensation for the first night, they were very rude and said 'we gave you a new room.' I said yes, but it was midnight and I wasn't going to wake up my kids in the middle of the night'. He shrugged his shoulders and with a very condescending tone said 'we did our part, we gave you a new room.' He said he had already discussed with his manager and all they were willing to do was give us a night of free parking. I asked to speak to the manager and she wouldn't come speak to me, she just told him to give me her business card. The worst hotel experience I've ever had. Will NEVER stay there again!

The staff at this hotel was incredibly friendly and helpful! The employees at the Art Bar, bell services, valet, front desk and especially one maintenance staff member in particular; Karl. I had a problem with the deadbolt in my door, and Karl was so helpful in the entire process of eventually moving me to another room. If Karl, or his supervisor reads this, I hope you know how grateful I am for your effort and swift resolution to my trouble!

I had a fantastic stay at the Sonesta Philadelphia Rittenhouse Square! The location is perfect—within walking distance to great restaurants, shops, and cultural sites. The rooms were modern, clean, and very comfortable, with all the amenities I needed. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. I also loved the rooftop pool. I’ll definitely stay here again next time I’m in Philadelphia.

The property was in a great location …close to great restaurants and places of interest . The staff was helpful. The pool was nice and refreshing and quiet. The decor of the hotel was art deco . Bathroom was clean and bed was comfortable…although areas of the halls and the bathroom wallpaper was torn and dirty ….needs some updating . They have a lil art bar on the first floor , but they only served coffee and small breakfast items …yogurt and bagels. I wish there was a full day restaurant on site but all there was ..was Ruthchris steakhouse which is pricey and opened later in the afternoon. Overall stay was pleasant.

During our four-night stay, we encountered several issues. There was no room service available at all. We called to request room cleaning, new towels, and coffee, but no one ever came. When we followed up, we were told, "Sometimes we can't clean the rooms when we're too busy." Additionally, the bar ran out of many standard beverages, leaving us with limited options. Some staff members expressed their frustration about being short-staffed and missing shipments necessary to keep the bar stocked. It was a chaotic experience. Staff was friendly. Room was clean but did not have a window that opens and smelled like air freshener. Some wallpaper and the bathroom ceiling showed the building's age. They charge a $20/day fee and give a $10 credit that can only be spent at the in-house Arts Café (not a true café). No room service, as far as I could tell. It's nice but not exactly affordable for what it is. Centrally located, close to SEPTA stops.
