Courtyard Winston-Salem Hanes Mall

Convenient to highway connections and shopping. Parking was good although buses took up many car spaces. Wish the room had a tub.

This hotel needs 2 extras luggage carriages. They only have 2 for a 4 floors building.

Pool was nice

Everything was fine except for the sun lounger(the ones we can lay down) only had 2. I think is too few

I spent seven nights here and didn't enjoy any of it. Not only did I not feel safe as a solo female traveler, but the hotel itself is dingy and musty. They try to cover up all the moldy smells with air fresheners, which makes it even worse. I was so disappointed in the hotel that I wanted to change halfway through but couldn't find availability. I never wanted to be in the lobby or common space due to the smelliness of the area. Nothing was fresh or clean smelling.

There was roaches in my room

The main thing I didn’t like was that our whole hallway smelled like weed. I don’t care to smell it or have my children smell it. There also is NO SMOKING rule, so I don’t understand how smoking weed is acceptable. I hope they have to pay the fine for smoking in their room. Also, it is NOT legal to smoke weed in NC!!

The shower was gross! The shower door was very tough to slide back and forth.The A/C unit didn’t work very well and had an awful smell. The room was stuffy. Half assed update to rooms, no attention to detail.

The property is in desperate need of upgrades. I like the Courtyard by Marriot franchise, but this facility is a long way from the normal "Courtyard" standard. I originally booked the downtown location, but accidently for the wrong day. I lost those funds and then paid more for this location that I found substandard, and it was more expensive.

The property felt less than Marriott.... A little run down. Thin walls No enforcement of Noise. No enforcement of No (Marijuana) Smoking Neighbors partied through the night Payed for Breakfast Buffet at time of reservation which was discontinued on last morning. Was told by GM JR that the horrid Breakfast burrito would be credited. It was not and JR has not replied to numerous email attempts

The TV was off most of the evening. Next morning no TV again. When I told the person at the front desk that we did not have a hairdryer, he sent a person to the room to “show “ me where it was. Surprise No hairdryer. I felt he was disrespectful to doubt what I told him.

I reserved my room on Sunday July 20 to stay Tuesday July 22 for a king room. Upon check-in I was told no king bed was available and was offered a room with two double beds instead but was never offered any form of refund for the difference in price for the rooms, nor any other comps.

At first they had us in a handicap room which I was not happy with, But Jackie, who went above and beyond, put us in another room that was excellent!! Kudos to Jackie!!

I got in about 12:30 in the morning after a long flight and the front desk lady had the front door locked with no way to reach her. After enough knocking she finally came with an attitude like i was doing something wrong I had a reservation paid for already and did not appreciate that introduction. Then she followed up with some more very rude abrupt service i told her i didnt appreciate her service and she tried to explain by saying she got robbed the other night is which i continued to say if that was your problem for letting me in then maybe you should find another job instead of treating everybody criminal and locking the doors during business hours.

The staff that checked me in could not find my reservation,he had my driver's license and then asked me for my reservation number and still could not find it handed me the customer check in list my name was the 3rd one needs more training bad way to start out a stay

Check in was fast. Room and hotel clean. There were a couple drunk guys drinking out front staring down and greeting guests with wild eyes. Didn’t like that so much. Kept an eye on the car to make sure I get didn’t go near my wife who waited while I checked in.

I liked that the front desk receptionist who checked me in was amazing. I had her name, but I seem to have forgotten it. But if you look at the time I checked in, it shouldn’t be hard to find out. But I didn’t like when suspicious people were coming from behind the building after dark. They clearly didn’t stay there. That’s why I mentioned more lighting in the parking lot. Or at least security checks. And I still haven’t received my deposit back yet.

The property itself was ticketed away you had to drive to go anywhere not convenient to walk to grab a bite somewhere. When I originally got there the light above the vanity did not work but a quick visit to the desk solved that. The phone in the room also did not work. Property was clean but the area by the mall just felt worn down and the mall itself was underwhelming. Probably would not stay in this area again in the future. Staff was helpful when I did have questions

Was in a jam late at night passing through Winston-Salem and this Courtyard location fit us in even though they were packed due to a convention in town. Everyone was very nice and the room was clean. Our room was very close to the kitchen, and we smelled food quite a bit during our stay. This can't be helped, just suggest booking second floor if smells bother you. It just made us hungry.

Front desk staff was pleasant and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Free breakfast was better than most places I’ve stayed. I would recommend this hotel for anyone needing to stay in Winston Salem.
