Rooms were not ready upon check-in. Wait time was over an hour. We encountered similar delays apparent with a lobby full of other guests. With confirmations, you should know in advance how many reserved rooms will need turnaround the day before. Management is not proactive. Additionally, this Holiday Inn Express appears to be running on a minimalistic budget. First, insufficient staff to conduct the turnaround. Inoperative ice machine. No vending machines in place anywhere indicated. Lobby kiosk grossly understocked; prices not marked. Room mattress uncomfortable and bed too high. No safety mat in shower; slippery.

Property is under construction. Have to get in through an unlocked side door. No parking. Had to park next to the dumpster the construction crew is using. No working elevators. Just what a person wants to experience at 1:30AM after a 8 hour drive.

Fair. Moderately priced. Elevator was broke and Expedia did not inform me in advance. We had a lot of baggage to carry up steps. Breakfast was 4 stars. Nothing exceptional, but exceptional attention to the preparation.

Firstly, the elevator was broken so we had to walk up and down the steps to our 3rd floor room. This was especially difficult with our luggage. Then, we had a room right next to the stairwell, which had a door that slammed shut very loudly every time anyone used it - and that was a LOT! The rooms were not insulated well at all so we didn’t sleep well because we heard the door slamming all night as well as our noisy neighbors.

They were tearing up the front entrance when we arrived. They are updating a few things. I walked in and the floor was covered with dust and residue. A jackhammer (5 feet away) running while I am trying to check in. I thought that this information would have been on the description. (under renovation) The pool was also covered up and not open. None of this information was given prior to our arrival. If I knew about the other stuff upfront I would have been prepared and might have changed my plans. Staff was shell shocked as well. Not very nice or attentive to any needs. You had to walk through the construction area to get to the elevators. The rooms were clean and nice.

Place was filthy. There wasa stain on the couch. I found multiple bugs in the room. The seal on the window did not work, so it was very loud. The TV didn’t work properly. The Wi-Fi was extremely slow. The bathroom was disgusting. They were stains on the tub.

Pros-Helpful customer service/staff. Clean room, comfy bed. Decent continental breakfast. Cons-the people above us were, seemingly, doing calisthenics. Typical hotel thin walls. Not the hotels fault, just something to know. 1# dislike-mold in the shower. There’s just no excuse for this. Spray it with something, recaulk, and move on.

Overall my stay was incredible. However there some small issues that where not resolved when reported. The wifi didnt work in my room and after taking a shower the bathroom smelt of sewage. However, very clean room A/C kicked and Entertainment on the television was quite enjoyable. I would recommend to anyone to stay here, And will most likely be attending again.

Everything was good. The front desk woman who worked the evening/night shift during the week was amazing! She went above and beyond to make our stay the best. There is a loud side (road noise) and a quiet side. With a four-day stay, we switched to a room on the quiet side after the first night.

Super nice staff. Remodeled room was beautiful and very clean. Beds were a little high and at 5'1" I had to crawl in but it was very comfortable. Could hear a little road noise at times but still slept well regardless. We already have reservations to stay again in December and looking forward to it. Great place to stay!

My room was very comfortable. Loved the dove soap, lotion, shampoo and conditioner. So much easier and eco friendly!! All staff were very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely stay here again.

The desk staff at check-in and checkout was absolutely awesome, the price of $130 for one night in Winston-Salem is a little steep. The staff on the continental breakfast lacks people skills. We were checking out and was a few minutes early for the continental breakfast, I asked the breakfast staff only for a cup of orange juice for my special needs son and we were waved away and pointed to the front desk. Upon telling the front desk attendant, what happened all they said was they would tell management.

Hotel was right next to interstate & very noisy throughout the night with traffic. Our room was at the end of hall next to outside door. Door slammed quite a lot during late night & early morning so also kept us from sleeping. Hotel overall was nice but terrible location.

The insulation in the rooms were terrible. You can hear people talking out in the hallway all night and the guest above my head were walking really heavy in addition, the traffic was noisy. Also, the breakfast was very limited.

After driving from Washington DC to Winston Salem, NC. It was a long trip on the road. When I arrived at my destination the staff was professional and courteous in handling our needs and concerns. The room was wonderful and spacious, the beds were clean and comfortable. The shower was outstanding and soothing and in combination made my rest so recuperative. The breakfast was out of this world, the omelettes were scrumptious and the bacon was crisp. I had no complaints whatsoever, it was a very pleasant and positive experience. I will request Holiday Inn to all my family and friends. Thank you for your service and hospitality. All the staff was cordial and respectful.
