Travelodge by Wyndham Albuquerque East

I have photos of the room - the smoke detector was dangling from the ceiling and chirping - I had to ask for a battery and insert it myself as the maintenance person was off for the Holiday. The place was surrounded by homeless people hanging around the hotel parking area and walking the landings outside of our room. The Wifi did NOT work. We ended up leaving a day early. The picture on the app showed a beautiful hotel downtown and this was NOT what was presented. Lesson Learned I will now google each hotel on Expedia to be sure the address and the picture matches and then check on guest ratings outside of Expedia. Trust is an issue after this TRIP.

The room was horrible. There was no smoke detector, microwave or fridge. The bathroom door handle was broken and could not be closed. The sheets were stained and dirty. Hotel had boasted of newly renovated rooms, however our room was old and rundown. When we asked for a different room, we were told there were none available. However we walked by 3 rooms while we were there that never had anyone in them. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The shower was broken. The floors were not swept. The sheet had cigarette burn holes in it. Two strange men knocked on my door at 4AM. Paint was peeling on the walls. No coffee maker and front office where coffee is located is locked early morning.

No towels in room they just give you one at check in even if you have two guest. Room was dirty, no effort in making it look clean. Floor was disgusting, I would never take a family here or my children. The pool and hot tub were from a scary movie.

Totally opposite to what it advertises: No breakfast, no smoke detectors, torn curtains, no toilet paper holder, shower had to be held for it to work, wall sink was about to fall, TV did not work.

The staff was RUDE! Especially the manager! Said they had an "indoor pool". Looks like its been out of order forever. The door from our room out to it had the locks drilled out. They advertised that they serve breakfast BUT THEY DONT! Nothing but coffee! Their linens were in TERRIBLE condition. Small thin towels and bed linens with holes burned in them. I did not even have a night stand. They said every room had a fridge and microwave but we didnt. This place was absolutely the WORST! Id just as soon sleep in my car!

Photos are deceiving. Ceiling are taped. Strong odor. No wifi, indoor pool closed. Unfriendly staff, we’re not even done talking she hang up.

The smoke detector was pulled out and replaced with napkins shoved into the hole, there were multiple stains on all the sheets and pillow cases, the AC was so loud, anytime anyone in the nearby rooms talked or slammed their doors, the whole building would shake. The lamps didn’t have any bulbs, there was flies everywhere, the bathroom had weird red stains (maybe hair dye or something?) and it was just absolutely awful and scary being there. Had to use our own blankets from our car because it felt so unclean being there. If I wasn’t there for just 6-7 hours to sleep on a road trip, I definitely would have gone somewhere else. For the price they charge you, this hotel is NOT worth it. Oh- and sketchy people are always loitering in the area so it feels unsafe getting out of your car just to enter the sketchy front lobby!!!! Wish I could get a refund for how terrible that experience was. Even the hotel staff was telling us how unsafe the area is and how crummy the hotel is. There is no fridge and no microwave there for the two queen bed rooms. The rooms smell funky. And there is no breakfast available at the hotel. The lack of breakfast is something I was aware of but they have images of coffee makers in the hotel description and even that wasn’t provided to us. Terrible experience and I regretted taking my family and two young daughters there.

My mom and I took a trip and stayed at 5 different hotels. I admittedly didn't pick 4 star hotels, so i didn't anticipate being wowed by any place i picked. However, this place was the pits. The toilet didn't flush. The room smelled like smoke. The blankets had stains. The area didn't feel safe. I picked this hotel because it had a pool - that was a joke. The pool room was NASTY. The only nice thing I can say is that there was a Starbucks nearby.

The absolute worst stay we have ever had. We checked in and were handed two sets of towels for a family of four and the towels were stained and had hairs on them. The area is not clean and we were surrounded by drug deals and homeless people. We walked into the room and the smell of cleaning products was so strong and yet the room was absolutely filthy. There were cockroaches and stains and cigarette burns all over the stained sheets. Beds had two small pillows each and the curtains had holes and didn’t close properly. The pool was empty and the back patio door was nasty and the patio curtain was held halfway closed with a hook safety pin. This was the absolute worst place we have ever been too and looked nothing like the photos at all. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Absolutely the filthiest, most disgusting motel I have ever seen. Stained, dirty sheets. Obviously not changed from last customer. Took the fitted sheet off and there were blood stains on the mattress cover. Snot etc on the pillows. 2 dogs barking right next door despite no pet policy. Management doesn’t care at all. Sure it was cheap but Jesus come on, WASH THE SHEETS. Not fit for human habitation.

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. From rotten tuna fish in the fridge to cigar burn marks on the blankets to what looked like blood splattered on the ceiling. Extremely dirty old mattresses and room in general. Reeked cigar. Room looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months, Absolutely filthy and disgusting.

The place is filled with troubled individuals and has a very unkempt atmosphere. There were cigarette burns on the sheets, and the overall cleanliness of the room was lacking. I would not recommend staying here unless you are in a desperate situation. Just be sure to say your prayers while you’re here. I took pictures if needed.

The stay was the worst ever, the room was dirty with bed bugs, the air conditioner not working the toilet seat broken with a big crack, the shower tub feels like falling off , no remote control for the tv. We have to change 3 rooms because of all things not working, the pillow cases with yellow stain and burn cigarette sheets . I will never go back and I don’t recommended at all. The owner didn’t even care for any complain and on the website this hotel shows as temporary closed .no cleaning standards at all.

Disgusting room. Holes in the flooring, sheets had stains. Horrible service, was unable to reach anybody at 9:00pm on a Saturday needing more bath soap. The front desk attendant was on the phone for a personal call during check in and check out. Location also does not feel safe at all. DO NOT STAY HERE!!

So dirty. Sheets stained, dirty. Cigarette holes in comforter in our non-smoking room. No bent in bathroom. Floorboard pulling away from wall, ceiling stained and in need of repair.

This place was horrible!!! The first room we were sent to wasn’t even cleaned yet! All the bedding was pilled on the beds and garbage everywhere. So they gave us a different room with only one bed! They had cleaned this room but it was far from clean! There was zero towels. I asked for some towels and was given a couple dingy ones and was told they had no wash cloths. I skipped taking a shower cause the shower was nasty and so were the towels. The room stunk bad like old pinesol and funk! The sheets had burn holes in them and it had no blanket just 2 top sheets. Meth heads and hookers were everywhere. A few of the methheads were up all night working on a car. Also said the pool was open, it said it on the sign out side and on the booking site but it was far from open!!! It had a little bit of muddy water at the bottom. The pool looks like it’s has been open for years!!!! This has to be the worst place I have ever stayed at EVER!!! We were so tired from driving from Georgia and we booked on the site so we couldn’t get our money back either cause it’s non refundable! So we had no choice but to stay! I was up all night cause I was terrified our cars were gonna get broken into! This place should be condemned! They should not be allowed to rent these rooms to anyone!!! I took a bunch of pictures! Holes in the walls no light covers just light bulbs exposed! There was also a rolled up joint on top of our mirror so that tells you how clean it is!! Lol. DO NOT BOOK HERE!!

I waited at checkin for 15 minutes before the manager drove up and opened the door. I was given two cheap sorry towel to take to the room. No washcloth. I got settled in the room and there was no remote control for the TV. I called the front desk. No answer. The smoke alarm chirped all night. No answer from the front desk. This was the worst motel I have stayed at in a long time.

We completed our stay at the Travelodge, but were disappointed. Although it is a budget motel option, one should always feel safe and that they are in an establishment that is taken care of, no matter the overnight cost…that’s business. Our door had two penny sized holes that were covered up, as from the parking lot one could look in and see your room. The room smelled like smoke. We had the impression that several ‘guests’ lived there by the foot traffic, parking lot visitors and hangouts, and the noise level of our neighbors. There was a dirty face towel hanging on the shower curtain and several hairs left for us in the shower. Found out the pool was closed when we checked in - the reason we booked this particular budget motel. Would not recommend. The front desk lady was nice upon checkin.

The lamps didn’t have any bulbs, there was flies everywhere, the bathroom had weird red stains (maybe hair dye or something?) and it was just absolutely awful and scary being there. Had to use our own blankets from our car because it felt so unclean being there. If I wasn’t there for just 6-7 hours to sleep on a road trip, I definitely would have gone somewhere else. For the price they charge you, this hotel is NOT worth it. Oh- and sketchy people are always loitering in the area so it feels unsafe getting out of your car just to enter the sketchy front lobby!!!! Wish I could get a refund for how terrible that experience was. Even the hotel staff was telling us how unsafe the area is and how crummy the hotel is. There is no fridge and no microwave there for the two queen bed rooms. The rooms smell funky. And there is no breakfast available at the hotel. The lack of breakfast is something I was aware of but they have images of coffee makers in the hotel description and even that wasn’t provided to us. The hotel heater didn't work, and it was freezing outside. No hot water. I finally left with no sleep and shower.

The restroom was missing tile and toilet paper was in between the tile, the water from the shower made a lot of noise, and there was no remote, the pillows were very poor quality.

Falsely advertised a pool and breakfast. Cockroaches in all five rooms they showed me. Refused a refund after I found out that I door wouldn’t lock. Moved rooms to another horrible room. Bed stains, ripped sheets, bugs and debris. Children found a shredded up cigar inside of bed sheets along with hairs and stains. Upon check in the front desk agent told me the names and nationalities and races of the guests staying around me to “make me feel safe”. Then front desk had me get towels for room out of maid quarters dryer. Towels handed to me in a bundle and not enough to function in the room (no bath mat, wash clothes, only bath towels with had large yellows stains on them). Then the management came a knocked aggressively on our door at 11pm while we were sleeping and accused me of breaking into the room. They claimed they had police on the way and they did not care about any of the problems from earlier that night. We felt very unsafe after that so I did not sleep. Children were exhausted and refund was denied so we had no choice but to stay after a 10 hour drive from Dallas. Spoke to manager at front desk in the morning and he told me he didn’t care about our issues. He even raised his voice at me.

Tried calling every number we could find - kept getting hung up on. Had to drive completely across town, and when we got there it was filthy, dirty towels, 2 people in front of us came back out of there rooms with dirty linens and cancelled as well. We cancelled right there and then and stayed with a friend. And they still tried charging us for the reservation. I have been in contact with my bank for fraud. So disrespectful and unprofessional.

Manager said i stayed 9 hours when I only stayed max 30/45 mins and refunded me the other 2 nights but kept 1 night. I am disputing this and requesting a full redund. Expedia/hotel all refuse to issue full refund. Instead advised i should have read the reviews. Very unsafe, very dirty. Don not recommend at all.

When we checked in, we were only given one towel, and when we asked for more, we were told we'd have to wait until some were washed. This alone was unacceptable, but the condition of the room made things worse. It had an overpowering smell of must and cigarettes, and the overall cleanliness and atmosphere were far below any reasonable standard. We left immediately. We did not feel safe and could not stay even one night. I would strongly advise others to avoid this property.

The first "non-smoking' room given to me was horrid. It had the stench of cigarettes, the bed was wobbling back & forth, the & the vanity light & smoke detector were broken. I requested another room which was slightly better, but i was never transferred to that room in their system so someone else was assigned to my room & a key was given to them. they tried to enter twice even after i told them it wasn't their room. The police were called & they came pounding on my door thinking i was in violation. Hotel staff were very unprofessional & scetchy. DON'T STAY THERE OR STAY AT YOUR ON RISK!!!!!

Check in the guy didn’t say a word while he was checking me in. I had to ask if I needed to do anything. Then he just started talking to the other employees. I asked again do I need to do anything. He said no and had to go check if there were any clean rooms?? We got to our room and had to change sheets because there were black pubes everywhere. The new sheets we got had old pee and blood stains on them. Day of checkout which is at 11am housekeeping knocked on the door at 830am walking us up and asked if we were leaving???? Overall terrible service.

Cheap for a reason. Pulled in to a low grade domestic disturbance with some other residents. Transients wandering around pushing shopping carts. Room had “a smell” so we didn’t stay.

The Staff was really friendly but the area is not that safe. It is right up the freeway and our venerable authorities are building a new road in an already busy area. The rooms are dated and noisy. I could smell the cigarrettes of other people at 6 am. You can walk to the Maverick and hear loud music from cars at 3 am. But you get what you pay.

Absolutely trash, this is a crack hotel. Do not stay here. Wyndham should be ashamed to have there name associated with this place. I took the risk and stayed the night. I let my wife sleep and i stayed up all night checking on my truck thay was full of our property since we are leaving California permanently. I felt like the truck would be stolen at any moment. Then people were knoking on our door after midnight, area surrounded by the homeless. Some of them were sleeping in the stairs of the hotel. Didn't even pull the covers back. Put our sheets and used our blanket and pillows. Theres were so dirty and disgusting.
