La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Albuquerque Midtown

There were large puddles of water leading from the pool room to the elevator. There was a large amount of standing water in the elevators which was not wiped up. The standing water posed a safety risk for injury from possible falls. There was only one elevator for. 3 story hotel. The elevator space was limited resulting in a lot of waiting time to access rooms or for egress.

We had a good stay however the elevator up to the 3rd floor was broken. We had to walk up from the 2nd floor to the 3rd. No big deal but our key did not work. We got temporarily stuck in the stairwell. Thankfully we got another guest’s attention. Then went back down to the front desk. Overall the stay was good.

The hotel's advertising says newly refreshed, but sure doesn't seem so. The property is dingy, both inside and out, and the lobby and common area looked like they needed mopping. In addition, the staff acted ambivalent and doing you a favor to let you a room. Further they have only 1 luggage cart, and to use it they hold your drivers license until it's returned. Even worse, you have to sign in to get pool towels, and they must be returned to the desk. We travel extensively, but will NEVER return to this property!

The elevator was not working correctly. We had to come out at 2nd level and take stairs up to get to the 3rd level. The swimming pool was super cold, was not heated. Other than that, room was clean and staff was very welcoming.

The location is very quiet and well maintained. Our room was very spacious. The front desk staff was very friendly. The only bummer for the kiddos we were traveling with was that the pool and hot tub were out of order.

The room was nice and clean. The bathroom fan didn’t work. Every time you got on the elevator the help phone would ring and ring. The pool area only 2 lights were working it felt like the dungeon. Plus the hot tub was broken and the size of the hot tub was only big enough for 2 people. Plus there was no toilet paper in the main floor bathroom by the pool.

Staff was nice and room was clean. Property was under construction and only one ice machine was supposedly working but couldn’t get ice because the hotel was full .

Excellent services only thing is I wish would've been advised in advance before booking of pool being closed .

The bathroom shower has hair on the walls, the body wash bottle was empty and there were only two tissues in the box. Very disgusting g!

The staff was friendly, how ever the room was not clean, the bed comforter had a blood stain. And there was hair everywhere.

The new updated rooms are very nice. We ended getting a room on the third floor and the hallways smelled really bad, almost like a mix of urines. Once you get into the room its good, you can't smell that smell anymore but that smell is extremely unpleasant. There is only one elevator and there were a couple of times that house keeping would hold the elevator on a certain floor going in and out with their carts and you have to wait for a while.

The hotel was not as advertised. The list of how many things that were wrong with the hotel is long but here is the main reasons not to stay: Very unclean - pillows and sheets are stained. Most hallways smell like dog pee. The beds are almost unsleeping-able (comfort ability) The air conditioning didn’t work right, sounds like a lawn mower when running. And if you try to mess with the settings it just stops “working” for 30-45 mins. Honestly the worst hotel stay ive ever encountered. Staff was somewhat friendly, but trashed owners for why it was the way it was. Do not stay here. Trust me just keep driving it’s not worth it.

As soon as you walk in, the entire place smells strongly of dogs, and there’s dog hair all over the hallways and carpets, which are noticeably dirty. The website claims the hotel is newly renovated, but the bathroom walls in our room were damp and visibly damaged, with signs of rot. Definitely not what we expected based on the online description.

I was very disappointed in this stay. The elevator and our entire floor smelled like dog pee. Our room was warm and wouldnt cool. There was mold on the bathroom walls and mildew all over the sink spout. The tub also didnt drain while in the shower so you were standing in water the entire time you shower. The bathroom door wouldnt close without being slammed and the bottom of our bed was taped together with painters tape. The staff was the only good part of this experience.

My hotel room was not sufficiently cleaned. There was somebody else's hair all over my bathroom. There was dirt in the main sleeping area. The trashcan in the bathroom had been thrown up in and then they just put a fresh liner over without wiping the can out or the outside of the can off. Breakfast was not sufficiently provided. If you weren't the first one there you didn't get adequate food.

The place had dirty rooms I was offered several rooms, and had my 4th room that was somewhat clean. I think more cleanings of bed and sheets, and mattress need to be more evaluated, and pest control for the beds.

The front desk clerk carried on a lengthy 5 min. conversation with another customer while I waited in line. Then when I got to my room I discovered bed bugs!!! I will never stay at a La Quininta again.

We only stayed one night. Some of the property is updated, like the flooring, furniture, & bathroom vanity. These were all very nice & the beds were comfortable. The bathtub, tile, & shower fixtures have not been updated. There were hairs & dust on the bathroom floor which made it feel dirty. Breakfast was okay. I would not choose to stay at this property again.

Room 226, the refrigerator didnt work.

Room was spacious and well appointed. Beds were excellent. The bathroom had not been renovated. Grab bar in shower pulled out of the wall and tub needed new caulking.

AC did not work in the room. There was no mattress pad on the mattress. The bathroom had cracked tiles, and the bathtub looked horrid. This hotel is very dated, and needs some serious TLC. The mattresses were also awful.

The walls were really thin and you could hear everyone. Their pillows are half the size of a typical pillow. The neighborhood felt really unsafe.

My main issue was the AC unit. It kept us up all night long b/c it sounded the the fan was going out everytime it would shut off. And this would last for 30-60!seconds every time. So I complained about. They went and checked it out. Did nothing. Then the next night, the AC died in the middle of the night. So we didn’t have any AC at that point. I knew it was going to happen.told them. And nothing. The staff I would talk to in the mornings were always amazing and understanding. The staff in the afternoon/eveinging were not. The toilet handle when arriving was broken too. So they came and fixed that the next day. Which was nice. But super annoying to have a broke toilet handle the first night. Breakfast was good. And everything was clean. Some cracks in the shower but the room itself was very clean.

The hotel in general was nice. I was disappointed to find out there was no refrigerator in the room. In a suite no less. Other than that, the room and stay was nice.

We were there for 5 days and I asked for housekeeping and they never did clean the room and on the 3rd day found a tick in my pillow so I asked for house keeping to go in and clean they still didn't do it. Will not stay here again.

Not sure why I was charged a pet fee…as La Quinta in Oklahoma never charged a $25 pet fee. The extremely rude receptionist insisted to copy my Drivers License as I would dispute the charge. I admitted my pet was not a service animal. I hope my DL is not compromised as I was not given an option. The breakfast person argued with me as I tried to get a cup of coffee in the morning as I returned from walking my pet. If there is an issue…move the coffee away from the breakfast food. It was never an issue in Oklahoma as they have it set up in this manner. Very disappointed to be treated as such as a paying customer…mind blowing!

Absolutely horrible. We got locked out of our room after dinner because the battery died. It took them over 2 hours to get it fixed and we had to wait in the lobby till 8:30 in the evening. The staff made no effort to accommodate us while we had to wait on the manager and then maintenance.

I booked my stay on hotels.com and paid, then the hotel itself charged me the same rate again. I’ve called 3 times over the past week and they still haven’t fixed it. The first time they said the manager would be in later. The second time they said a manager would be in the next day. I waited a few days before calling again. The third time, they said they didn’t know if a manager was there, and said that someone else called earlier that day with the same issue!!! I feel like I might have to end up doing a chargeback because this is ridiculous. Not to mention the room wasn’t even that clean, it was super dusty under the beds.

Hotel was nice. Check in was long because the front desk agent was not at the desk at check in time. There was a lot of people waiting for him to come back to check them in. Took an hour to check in.

I booked and paid for my room through Expedia. I told the staff that and yet they still charged me for the room. I’ve tried to dispute it through Expedia app which says hotel will contact me. I have not heard anything from the hotel or Expedia

All of the staff were extremely professional and welcoming. I felt like I was staying with family during my stay.

This place was convenient for what we needed. The front desk clerk Grace was so very helpful. The reason for the average rating was because we didn't get our room cleaned, trash emptied or new towels. We had to go downstairs & get our own. Even when we called downstairs to get some, it took forever for them to come so that's why we went & got them ourselves.

Front desk should have staff at all times. Multiple times I witnessed several people waiting, including myself, with no staff anywhere in sight

Very nice stay and hotel was great. Outsde area around hotel was industrial with boarded up businesses and homeless people.

My room had a bad smell that l should have asked to change rooms. Lots of homeless in the area. Staff very good and stored my bike in a safe place

Why is a large, nice hotel in the middle of a block, with construction companies and manufacturing equipment surrounding the building? I was concerned that my vehicle was not safe, even while parked in front of the building.

Everything mostly ok. Breakfast could have been better. Pancake maker broken. We like it better when there’s a wakkle maker and dispenser for juice . Coffee was not hot and was weak.

Overall the hotel is good, hot tub was broken… ok that happens. The only complaint that I have is all the homeless people that congregate around the hotel especially in the morning s. I went outside about 6:30 and there was 4 of them sitting on the bench. I thought ok maybe they sleep here, but come to find out as soon as breakfast opens they swarm the hotel, load up on coffee and food and the staff allow it. I was lucky enough to get a cup of coffee but my GF got up at 8:00 and all 3 pots were empty and there was a constant line of people (very noticeable that they weren’t guests) filling plates. Some eating there and some loading 2 plates of food and a huge cup filled with coffee, filling pockets with muffins and yogurt etc. I understand some people are less fortunate but everyone of these people were young, physically able to work, filthy and noticeably on drugs. I won’t be staying here again. Seems like rates would be lower if we weren’t paying for homeless to have breakfast. While loading the truck to leave a homeless lady came up to our vehicle asking for change and started screaming at us when we wouldn’t give her any. I’m going to call management, maybe they don’t know but I don’t see how they can’t. Abq has a huge homeless and drug problem but I don’t think that they should be allowed into the hotel or any other non paying guest for that matter and have free reign. I’m sure one or 2 sneak in everywhere but this place is definitely known as a free breakfast to them

Breakfast is very bad

Their continental breakfast needs more variety went to get eggs and there was none and the personnel didn't check what they had ran out off.

The location was convenient for my trip and priced for what it is. Breakfast was slim options and room was freshly remodeled but bathroom wasn’t cleaned real well and tub showed its wear and tear. This is not a complaint, as I said, the priced matched the experience.
