This is a very nice hotel, right in the heart of the Santa Fe historic district. Literally a half block from the oldest church in the U.S., as well as (supposedly) the oldest house. About three blocks from the main plaza, the Loretto chapel is about a block over, etc. Hotel itself is nice, we needed a handicapped accessible room with roll in shower and they delivered. Bath was in fact quite nice, though the room itself was a bit on the small side. I think this is because the hotel was redone/retro fitted at some point, obviously originally an older motel redone. There was a refrigerator but no microwave. There is a pretty good Chinese restaurant attached to the hotel, also handicapped accessible. They charge for parking which is in addition to the cost of the room. Nice pool area which we did not use. Lots of pretty flowers, at least in the summer (August) which is when we stayed here. I would recommend it.

Great location but facility is just slightly below average No elevator! Bedroom in the suites in the on the second floor has no air containing and the king bed touches the wall on one side, so difficult to get in and out! The bed linen old and the comforter a little smelly Bathroom shower floor slippery floor and in order to turn the water on in the shower, one has to get in, turn on cold cold water before it swings to warm! Price for room very on each day with Friday teaching $420 during the peak season!

We had a pleasant stay. The room was a good size and comfortable, with a mini refrigerator but no microwave. The overall complex was clean and in good shape. The location is excellent, close to the town plaza and the art galleries on Canyon drive. Plenty of parking but had a charge of $10/day. Overall a good value for the money if you are looking for a basic motel.

Good location for exploring Santa Fe and is only a short walk from the central Plaza. Parking is ample but not free. We stayed 1 night as we were passing through so it was ideal for us. Has a nice pool but we didn’t get chance to use it.

This property is fine. It is in a fabulous location and it is easy to walk to the plaza and over to Canyon Rd. My biggest complaint is that they gave me a room with wet carpet. When I asked about it they said it had been cleaned earlier that day and may still be a little wet. Did not offer to give me another room. The carpet was soaking wet and remained that way for the two nights I stayed there. It was really gross to walk on wet carpet and it also had a strong chemical smell so probably wasn’t very healthy for me. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom window did not shut all the way which made the bathroom a bit chilly. It’s probably the cheapest location downtown and you get what you pay for. If the carpet had not been wet or if the staff would have been more helpful, I would have given it a higher rating.

it is a hotel that gives you an expectation that they care about their guests who may have allergies because they don’t allow pets and they don’t allow smoking, but they use all the strongest chemical odors that you can imagine with their cleaning so, when you normally go to a hotel that has a lot of smoking and bad odors and they use that heavy chemical cleaning solution and they use it there and the second you walk into your room it hits you big and strong and doesn’t go away!!! It makes you wonder what odors are they trying to cover up there?!? I had zero sleep, it made me feel sick. My eyes were so puffy. I could barely open them and it smelled horrendous! I kept the front door open to air it out. I had the bathroom window open the whole time and that didn’t do much of anything. I also bought an air purifier which didn’t do much! They refused to provide any refunds or assistance! When they offered me to check out of the rooms, I caught them in the act of giving in the room away without me having the option to check it out to see if it was as bad as my room! They had nothing to say they just stand there and listen and don’t budge and don’t do anything! That is terrible customer service and they didn’t care and they didn’t apologize for how disgusting the room smelled, and how bad the chemicals affected me! If you have any issues with strong chemical smells and cleaning solutions that will make you feel sick then I highly recommend you do not go there and don’t expect them

Overall nice but a few things... They need to clean the carpet in the rooms, they smell. I was there with a friend who had a different room and her room smelled bad too. Also the only electrical outlet is 5' away from the dressing area so for instance, the cord for the blow dryer is too short to see what you are doing while drying your hair. There are NO electrical plugs in the bathroom. It is, however, very convenient to the plaza and parking is good. The fridge in the room worked well but you have to walk to the main office area to get ice. It could be better considering the price.

The room was clean, not vacuumed every day. But, we never had a dry towel every day we had damp towels we said something the first day, but it didn’t help. There was no coffee cups some of the days and they never give you any water except for the first day. They also forgot toilet paper a couple of days for the prize that we paid, we felt there should’ve been more basic things like water and dry towels

The hotel is lovely, the room is comfortable and good size. The location is outstanding. There is one odd unfortunate quirk. There is no counter space at the sink. The counter is located outside of the main bath area which is very inconvenient: Brush your teeth, go out to get your shaver, shave, go out to get your deodorant, use that go out to get your hair brush. A bit of a pain, but that aside everything else was great.

The location is excellent, and it's relatively inexpensive for Santa Fe. The rooms are....minimalist. No outlet in the bathroom!! Very, very dark. One uncomfortable desk chair. USB ports next to the bed didn't work. De-activated our key cards the day before we checked out!

The location was wonderful. Only two blocks from the plaza. Tons of shops, cafes, restaurants, and the historic churches and Palace of the Governors. The room needs to be updated. The living room was dark with only one light and one lamp. The lamp needs to be thrown away as it is unstable. The bedroom does not have a tv in it. Was kind of a dreary suite compared to most hotels I've stayed at over the years.

Was able to check in earlier than designated check-in which was a super pleasant surprise. The room was spacious and clean when we got in. Great location for shops, museums and restaurants. We didn't drive much at all othe than to go to Chimayo and Nambe Trading Post. Would have liked to have extra bar of soap (they were thin and small). Front desk was friendly to deal with. The continental breakfast was decent and not part of hotel stay; just the adjoining dining room of Chinese restaurant. The breakfast was $8.50 per person. We just gave them $20. It was fine...had bacon, eggs and noodles along with sliced wheat bread, muffins or bagels, juice was available as was coffee if you wanted. Had the guy make us waffles the two times we went.

Loved the price and proximity to the plaza!! Our room was clean and updated. We had an issue with the air conditioner but they fixed it right away! Highly recommend!
Loved the price and proximity to the plaza!! Our room was clean and updated. We had an issue with the air conditioner but they fixed it right away! Highly recommend!

we drive 12 hours form Louisiana to Santa Fe, at least one time a month and we don't go anywhere that it is not this hotel! It is more than an hotel! The people? Are awesome! Carlos always helping us with wherever we need, Guadalupe always fix our rooms as brand new and the other ladies but I am more familiar with her , the 2 ladies and the guy with glasses are awesome ( the guy in the night is not the best but who cares lol) everything is great! Plus the location is perfect

The two positives are that El Sendero is ideally located near the Santa Fe Plaza, and that the hotel is reasonably priced. The negatives are that the hotel has no bar. There is an Asian restaurant attached to the hotel, but only offers beer and wine, drinks-wise. The hotel has two floors, neither of which has ice. Ice is available, but only at the front desk, which is kind of a hike away. There is no elevator. The staff seemed overworked. The manager was inhospitable.

We were arriving early and had already called to let them know ahead of time. We asked about getting an early check-in and she replied that was possible. It didn’t happen. We still had to wait a couple hours to get a room. They were slow, uncaring, and not very friendly. You have to pay for parking, no fresh water cooler available in the lobby, just bottled water and drinks for purchase. The buttons/snaps to close up the big gap of the curtain by the door in our room were all broken.

The front desk attendants were lukewarm. They were not helpful with knowing about events in advance to alert hotel guests. The day we were to check out by 11:00am, there was a Pride Day Parade on the street the hotel was located. We could not leave because road was shutdown. I asked attendant how long the parade would be and she said, “I have no idea”. I asked how this could be working in a Santa Fe hotel and she responded with, “I’m not from Santa Fe, I live 30 minutes away”. That told me the management wasn’t good at events happening in Santa Fe that might delay someone from leaving and incurring an additional night stay if a guests stays after 11:00 am.

My only issue was that housekeeping didn’t bother to knock before entering to make sure the room was empty on checkout day. It happened twice. Otherwise terrific room and location. Easy walking distance for shopping and dining on the plaza. Definitely will consider staying here again.

We really liked this hotel. It is very near the Plaza. Very quiet, and a nice room. It is build like an old "Motor Court" so we parked right in front of our room, so it was easy to bring in the suitcases.

This is a very nice hotel, right in the heart of the Santa Fe historic district. Literally a half block from the oldest church in the U.S., as well as (supposedly) the oldest house. About three blocks from the main plaza, the Loretto chapel is about a block over, etc. Hotel itself is nice, we needed a handicapped accessible room with roll in shower and they delivered. Bath was in fact quite nice, though the room itself was a bit on the small side. I think this is because the hotel was redone/retro fitted at some point, obviously originally an older motel redone. There was a refrigerator but no microwave. There is a pretty good Chinese restaurant attached to the hotel, also handicapped accessible. They charge for parking which is in addition to the cost of the room. Nice pool area which we did not use. Lots of pretty flowers, at least in the summer (August) which is when we stayed here. I would recommend it.

We were told complementary breakfast to find out after grabbing coffee it would be $8 per person. Front office indifferent. Breakfast run by next door restaurant. Just be aware not part of the hotel but it seems like it. A bit pricey per night for a motel but comfy beds and clean.

Great hotel in the Old Town area with incredible access to everything that area has to offer. The hotel is in an older building, but it has been nicely updated and a new excellent Chinese restaurant has been added to the property. Seriously, the food was outstanding there.

El Sendero is a beautiful property! The staff was extremely kind and helpful. The restaurant inside was delicious. It's close to historic downtown, so it's within walkin distance to a lot of good food spots and places to visit and shop. I can't wait to visit again.

I had originally booked one of the more expensive hotels in downtown. I am so glad that I saw this one and changed our reservation. Great shower! Comfortable Beds! Very clean! We also enjoyed the attached restaurant. We will definitely stay here again!

Loved the location and price. Room was adequate. This is a motor lodge with sea of pavement. Biggest deficiency: No free breakfast and for-purchase buffet breakfast was unappetizing and skimpy. Had to walk in seach of alternatives.

Despite following the instructions many times, could not get room’s climate control to work. Had no air conditioning and roasted all night, even having to get up a few times to open the door and use a towel to fan some air around. Staff seemed uninterested. Lots of $$$ for no A/C, no breakfast. And extra pricey for a non-holiday weekend night. And seriously? To park your own car in the hotel parking lot (not covered, just a parking lot) you pay $10/night ??? Absurd. Anyone paying for a room should not have to pay to park. Have stayed at several nicer hotels in Santa Fe with no parking penalty. Maybe if there were valet service, but there’s not, and having it here would not make sense. Next time we stay elsewhere.

Our room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the location was great for being in walking distance to the historic center of Santa Fe. For an older hotel/motel, it was well maintained. The front desk staff could have been more friendly and helpful but didn’t seem interested in communicating.
