My husband forgot three shirts in the closet. We called security the next morning and the items were at the front desk for pick up at the time requested. And there is a hotel car which will ferry you to closeby places if you talk to the bell captain. Great service here. Our room was very cold. But I didn't advise the desk so they didn't have the opportunity to correct it. My fault. Room was beautiful and had a patio. Worth the high tariff.

Our room upgrade was phenomenal. Everything about the room, and amenities were wonderful. We had drinks at the bar, worked out at the gym, worked from the suite- it was lovely in every which way.

Amazing quality hotel. The staff is amazing and very attentive to all needs. The food is of very high quality and well served. Loved the jazz bar at night and the breakfast in the morning. I definitely give it 5 stars, but need to acknowledge that the gym is many steps below the quality of the rest of the hotel. There are also very limited vegan options in the restaurants, but they make up for it with great espresso! Will definitely return to The Carlyle on subsequent visits to NYC!

This property is andventure into the past of Old NYC when servers and staff dressed in white jackets and used extremely polite language to bring tou back to a time of elegance. The hotel elevators were only big enough for 4 people at a time and the mail shoot is still in use the eating areas were opulant and decorated with fine art and beautiful china. It was a visit back to the time when going to NYC was oh such a fine experience.

Favorite NYC hotel. Have stayed here MANY times and will keep coming back. The staff is top-tier, with special recognition to Julie and Jared, the Concierge team, who are so warm, friendly and make great suggestions... even when you have a last minute request. Bemelman's Bar is an iconic NYC must-do, and they are more than helpful with getting you in when you are staying at the hotel. An especially festive hotel at Christmas time... Just love it.

Old world feel, great service, great location. The only suggestions i would make is that our bathroom shower needed better sealing as the water leaked all over floor and our bed was too soft in the middle.

The hotel could use an update. Inside is dated, old rooms. Service was nice but not overly great which I would expect from a hotel of this level. The beds are comfortable, and the black out shades are amazing.

LOUD ENGINE NOISES IN ROOM AT NIGHT EVERY THRITY MINUTES TO ONE HOUR STARTING EARLY IN THE MORNING AT 4 AM. STAFF SAID IT WAS POSSIBALLY LINKED TO THE AC EMPTYING OUT MOISTURE. IT WAS REALLY LOUD ALMOST LIKE A LAWN MOWER STARTING UP. THE STAFF WAS ABLE TO PROVIDE A DISCOUNT BUT IT STILL DOES NOT MAKE UP FOR THE LACK OF SLEEP AND IMPACT ON HEALTH.

Location is great for shopping and restaurants. Room decor is interesting and pretty. Standout brunch on Sunday morning. Glitches: 1). the porter placed my two suitcases directly against the wall heater. When I returned from dinner and went to open one of the suitcases, the handle was very hot. Fortunately, there was no permanent damage to my hand or the sides of the suitcases, but the porter really should know not to place suitcases in that location. 2). We were hoping to arrange dinner for 8 guests on the Sunday night. It was not bookable online because of the guest count. I left a message with the restaurant and no one called me back. We ended up just booking the dinner elsewhere, but I felt that there should be a more convenient way to message the restaurant.

The Carlyle was an excellent place to stay in New York; it is very convenient to the Metropolitan Museum, the Park, and to many beautiful shops and restaurants. More importantly it was comfortable, obviously well-maintained and staffed! I will definitely plan to stay there again!

Our stay was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. The staff was wonderful, the bar and restaurants one site were amazing, full of ny history and traditions. We saw a show at cafe Carlyle while there and it was a fabulous experience. Will definitely return

This was a spectacular property with perfect staff. I was there to see a show. DIanna Agron's show exceeded expectations, the food was terrific. The staff is courteous and helpful. I stay at hotels all over the world and this one was a very pleasant surprise. We will be back soon.
