Clean, a little worn and dark decor but fine for a place to crash after enjoying Manhattan. Nice clean, modern bathroom. Staff was helpful and accommodating. I really liked the gym around the corner that’s free to use when you stay here—nice touch. Good location. Not bad for the money.

Terrific. Just one problem, which I managed to solve: I have three electronics, all of which need to be charged overnight. Both in the room and the bathroom presented one difficulty: thr plugs kept falling out of the sockets. I finally used just one for the night and the other in the morning. Could have been worse. Nice property and very convenient if wanting to be close to Grand Central / Midtown. Room was mostly clean, bathroom recently upgraded. Limited conveniences in room. No free wi-fi in room (with secure connection at least), no USB connections in lamps or clock. The A/C worked okay, but was locked to on an auto mode, which means it annoyingly would turn on and shut off all through the night. Awful sleep.

Got charged a GBP23 'Resort Fee', for the gym facilities and free WiFi .?!! 1 We arrived late one night, left the following morning, and didn't even know they had a gym, let alone use it. I might as well send them an invoice for the use of my phone. It was there, and it's not my fault they didn't ask to use it 2 If you're including it in the Resort fee, then the WiFi isn't free, is it? Misrepresentation and false advertising. 3. It's not a resort, it's a hotel in in New York Nice enough hotel, but wouldn't stay there again, because of the ill feeling generated by the resort fee.

I usually love the Fitzpatrick; it's my go-to hotel when I'm here for work due to its proximity to our store. The staff is always super nice and while it's an older hotel, the rooms are usually fine. This time was a little different though -- the room I was in had no working heat (it's February). They did have a space heater in the room and to their credit, it kept the room at a decent temp. But leaving that on all day and night is a fire hazard and I felt like I couldn't leave it on while I was out of the room -- I kept coming back to an ice box. Not the end of the world if that's the only issue but in addition, the room REEKED of mold. You could see it on the shower tiles, you could see cracks and patches on the ceiling from where rain had leaked through the window (meaning, there was likely mold in the ceiling) — I ended up with a headache the first night from the overwhelming smell. Again, old hotel, things like this happen, but it wasn't a pleasant experience this time around. I will likely be back because I've had mostly positive experiences with this location but this trip fell below expectations.

This is a very old hotel with dirty carpets, old and super noisy air conditioning. We had a very dark room, the window was overlooking a wall and basically you couldn’t notice whether it’s day or night. It was at least not so noisy.

This hotel is in a very convenient location and the staff is super friendly. However, I do have to agree that the rooms are in need up upgrading and the HVAC too. Even with winter weather outside, The rooms were unbearably hot to sleep in at night. I tried turning up the AC several times but there was no controlling it. I talked to the front desk and they sent someone up to check on it. We got some cool air at first and then some at the end of our stay so it was still two hot nights. We were there for such a short stay that it wasn’t worth switching rooms but keep that in mind if you are planning for anything more than one night.

Fantastic proximity to Grand central terminal. Easy to walk to Times square and Bryant Park. I travelled with a teen. We had hoped to watch a movie in the room but this was not available. Having said this the bar is teen friendly and the room was very spacious by NY standards.

This is my go-to hotel when I stay in the city and I love it. The rooms are spacious and clean, service is friendly, and it is a convenient location. My only small issue this time was that my room on the 2nd floor was directly over the outside area of the Wheeltapper Pub and I could hear the conversations. Not a big deal as I was out for most of the night but if I wasn't, it would have been very distracting.

I had a lovely experience at the Fitzpatrick Grand Central! Every experience I had with the front desk staff, housekeeping, etc was so warm and welcoming. I got really bad food poisoning my first night there and I called the front desk to ask if they could bring up some bottled water and they were so kind about it and placed two bottles outside my door. The bed in the room was sooo comfortable it was hard to get up in the mornings. Cozy and beautiful lobby, esp at Christmas time. Super clean rooms. 10/10!

Nice, friendly hotel. Perfectly situated right near Grand Central Station so you could get anywhere from there easily. Cute Irish bar as part of the property. Our only complaints were two…. first, they totally forgot about our room service breakfast we checked outside our door at the time it was supposed to arrive, 7:45 AM, and no one had even picked up the order form off the door knob. They told us that was the preferred way to place the order. To their credit, once we complained, we got our breakfast within about 10 minutes. Second complaint was that we had to go through asking about three different times to get any washcloths! They finally admitted they don’t like to give washcloths because people get makeup on them and that’s hard to wash off.. But by giving no wash clothes, we were forced to use the hand towel as a washcloth and then make up got on those anyway and then we had no hand towels. Very, very stingy with the towels. However, having said all that, we would still stay there again as it’s benefits overcame these complaints.

We would stay again, BUT check-in was 4:00 PM, we could not get in to our room until 4:35. There was no clock in the room, no cups in the bathroom and only one bathrobe. since we were only staying one night we did not notify the staff. The cups provided for coffee were paper in spite of the fact that porcelain cups were shown on the website (we hate paper cups for hot drinks).The staff were very pleasant and friendly, and the Wheel Tapper Pub was great.

Great customer service by the team at the front desk, very friendly and helpful. Definitely I will come back but if you planning to dine at the hotel the restaurant is HIGHLY overpriced and drinks are awful. Better to go out and enjoy the city and eat & drink better food.

Everything was Five Star except for the Saloon/Dinning area. Staff was short and doing multiple jobs. Result was less than par food and service. The coffee service first thing in the morning both days was amazing. All in all a lovely stay in a most charming property with a very calming location. Will stay there again for sure.

This is a vintage elegant property with modern in-room retrofits. The staff is highly accommodating and helpful. The rooms are well appointed and extremely comfortable. My favorite part of the property is the pub/restaurant attached to it. Excellent food and drink with charming staff.

We loved that this hotel is practically across the street from Grand Central! Loved the Irish atmosphere too! We had breakfast in the little pub/restaurant which is adorable. When we couldn't figure out how to cool our room down, maintenance came very promptly and made the adjustment. Would definitely stay here again.
