The parking is horrible .. when I called I was informed my parking will be validated but it was only like $5 when I went to pay which was horrible information given to me. Also had to pay to leave my luggage for 2 hours after check out … so overall very disappointing

The place is surrounded by plenty of food and transportation options and with security checking key cards it’s quite safe for the area. Overall the hotel is “nice” considering the location but having to pay resort fees when they don’t even tell you about the gym or business at check in is cheating. The only thing they tell you is your WiFi password but they don’t tell you have 24hr gym access and 24hr business center access which they should do since the fee is additional but “mandatory”. As well they should have at least a microwave or mini fridge, or access to a microwave for guest. It’s just too basic for the price.

For travelers going by AMTRAK, this hotel cannot be beaten for value. No, it's not the Waldorf-Astoria (way over-rated), but it is clean, comfortable, and quiet. Be prepared, however, for a mild surprise at check-in: a $45 "Resort Fee is added to your bill! My wife asked "Where is the beach?" (Ha-Ha).

Staff were all great. Could not have done more for us. Shampagne on Reception was just wonderful, she treated us so well. We are so thankful and grateful to her. Great Italian restaurant in foyer, and the diner Tick Tock. And discovered The Butcher & Banker in the basement on the last night! Great Speakeasy bar and grill. Great bar man.

This is the only hotel that I would recommend to anyone visiting the city. Convenient to all trains at Penn Station. 24 Hr. restaurant attached, the Tick Tock. Security at the entrance to the elevators. Must produce your key. Only problem is the McDonalds across the street. Frequented by homeless and people begging. Annoying. OK for a male,but wouldn't recommend for a family, or young kids.

Enjoyed my stay here. My room was quite small though. Wasn’t too much of an issue since I was out exploring NYC for most of the day anyway. The staff was very friendly. The only thing that I didn’t like is that the only parking option was to park in a parking garage up the block that cost $50-$60 everytime you go in and out, not just per day. That’s very costly and had I known that, I most likely would’ve booked a different hotel.

The room was large, especially for NYC! There was even a walk in closet! Room was comfortable and staff was exceptionally friendly. Three restaurants are located on the street level for convenience. Subway station was just steps away from the entrance. Great location for exploring the city.

I ALWAYS stay at the New Yorker when in Manhattan, it's safe, secure, well-staffed, and conveniently located. The TicToc restaurant and Trattoria bar on-site makes for great options for those times when you just don't want or need to leave the hotel.

Came back after our event to a bathroom full of water and fecal matter in the bath tub and floor. Complained but was only provided a room change. Asked for a refund and wanted to immediately leave, but was denied. Was issued a similar room but the smell and holes in the wall was disgusting for the exorbitantly high prices I paid for the night. ($450+). Never agin will I stay at the New Yorker Hotel. By reference hotels.com needs to screen these reviews better.

My Room and Bathroom were so disgusting. It was like walking into a scene from..a--horror Movie. Imagine if you will. Tiny bugs flying about at night. The stench of mould seeping through crevices and the fear of catching a disease from touching anything. It appeared as if No updates had been done since 1952. There was NO room for many hygiene products and some of them; fell into; the trash can, Floor and even the toilet. I threw my Curling Iron away and had to replace my toothbrush numerous times. I asked someone to please come look at the room and was ignored. Due to me being bye myself. I was afraid to complain in fear of being asked to leave, because that happened to me at a previous Hotel in 2024. The Internet didn't work the majority of the time. There was an electrical fire and the business area was shut down for 2 days, so I couldn't get anything done. I asked for a coffee Pot almost everyday and finally grew weary and gave up. There were many other things that happened, but after being on the phone today trying to get my deposit back. I'm exhausted and in tears. I'll close with this. The majority of the staff treated me with dignity, some , not so much. After having a conversation with someone about me being alone and a Women and having the feeling that I was being ignored on purpose. The person told me I was right. Everything I wrote is not hyperbole and my advice is to stay away from this, once "Beautiful Iconic Hotel." .

Great location. Poor cleanliness. Staff nice, friendly and attentive. Bed was uncomfortable. TV did not work, nor did the iron. Bathroom was tiny and outdated. Would not stay here again. Poor value for money considering it was €1,300 for 3 nights midweek.

The New Yorker is conveniently located next to Grand Central Station and Madison Square Garden. It's also a few blocks away from Times Square, Whole Foods and Hudson Yard. There are lots a good places to eat bith casualandfine dining. With that said, this hotel is a great place for a short stay. The hotel is close to 100 years old so the walls are thin and the plumbing is just ok. I was originally on the 19th floor, but due to some plumbing issues, was kindly switched to a bigger room with a view. I was switched from the 19th floor to the 29th floor, but the street noise was still quite loud. I could still hear the occasional siren from police cars and ambulances. The restaurant on the corner was playing really loud music that carried through the windows in my room. The staff at the front desk is friendly and accommodating. BUT, if you're planning on staying in NYC for more than a couple of days, opt for a newer hotell for a more comfortable stay. New York City is definitely a place that never sleeps.

I always enjoy my stay at the New Yorker! Close to Penn Station and blocks from Time Square. I only wish they had microwaves and refrigerators in the metro rooms.

Good location but there is very little soundproofing in the rooms,you will hear everything in your neighbour's room. Also there is a police station at the rear of the hotel so you will also hear siren's during the night

Room was small, open the door boom there’s the bed. No storage space. BUT most hotels in nyc are this way, I’d just never seen one quite this small. Place wasn’t the cleanest but it wasn’t dirty or smelly. Staff was nice. Location was GREAT, easy to get all over from the stations nearby, noise level wasn’t bad and the diner downstairs provides room service which was very convenient.

The New Yorker was exactly what we needed as a place to crash after an 11 hour train ride. Bed and pillows were amazing and we slept great and the view was amazing from the 37th floor! Would definitely stay there again.

We had a very nice stay in room 4006. The front desk staff were very accommodating (Brian, Jose, Mohammed, Juan and Shamagne). Our housekeeper named Angiolina was excellent! She was very attentive and did a wonderful job. We arrived later than planned, but enjoyed going to the TikTok Diner, which was right in the hotel. The food was very good and so was the atmosphere. The hotel was in a great location and close to all of the stores, shows and attractions we went to. We had a beautiful view of the Empire State Building and were in walking distance of Madison Square Garden.

It was awful! I dad three rooms. Three to four times a day we have to reprogram the keys. We spent more time in lines with all the others getting new keys than we did exploring N.Y.C. Talked to the manager. He did nothing. We will not be back. We will go to the Renaissance or Double Tree next year.

Staff was nice but hotel can use some TLC. Paint peeling on doors, bathroom door wouldn’t close, and keys constantly gave us trouble and we’d have to go down 20 + floors to the desk to have resolved. Great location but overpriced for lackluster room.

We loved the location of this hotel and how close it is to Penn Station, Times Square, and everything else you’d want to see. The standard rooms are small but in a city like NYC, you probably aren’t spending much time in the room. It’s also incredibly safe, there is someone checking room keys before you even get to the elevators, which was definitely reassuring.

Close to Penn Station. Beds were very comfortable. Fairly quiet considering the surrounding area. Lots of shopping dining and stuff to do nearby, very walkable and close to public transit. The only real issue was with check-in, which took nearly an hour due to a system glitch with the reservation. Even without the glitch, there was typically a line at checkin.

The New Yorker hotel is a busy hotel. There is always a line to check in. The hotel is near and walking distance to many NY sites including the Empire State Building, Time Square, Macy’s. I loved the hotel and the staff and would stay here again.

This is an amazing place with especially professional service. We enjoyed the convenient location and two of the restaurants on premises. Tick Tock dinner was great for breakfast and midnight dinner! By chance, we checked events at Madison Square Garden and we got last minute tickets to a great show; the Garden is within sight of the New Yorker! We thought the price was amenable and competitive with most hotels. Also, right across the street from pharmacy and coffee shops.

This historic landmark hotel is located very close to Penn Station and metro stops making it very convenient for getting around. The room was very clean and updated while keeping an art deco feel. The beds were comfortable and staff stationed in the lobby were polite and helpful while adding a layer of security monitoring access to the elevators. The Tick Tock Diner with access into the hotel lobby is open 24/7 as is the small museum in the hotel lower level. After we checked out, they were able to hold our bags while we got in one more day of sightseeing before our Amtrak departure that evening.
