Very disappointed as the property is undergoing major renovation meaning that it’s amazing bar that overlooks Times Square is not open - we were not advised of this at the time of booking or before our arrival.

Great location, disappointed that the main bar that overlooks Times Square is closed for renovation until September. That was one of reasons I booked this particular hotel. The hotel is a little dated in some places but we had a lovely stay.

Rooms nice, spacious and clean. Great location. My only issue was that there is major renovations occurring on the lobby level and that wasn’t mentioned in the booking. A day prior to arrival the concierge sent an email stating there were renovations. By that time we were unable to cancel. Because of the renovations there were long elevator wait times because only one elevator is in service from the lobby to the street level and it was extremely hot in the elevator. Also some of the furniture in the temporary bar area needs to be thrown out and replaced. As much money as we paid I expected better. Totally different experience at the Renaissance from a year ago when we stayed at the exact location. Will most likely stay elsewhere when returning to Times Square.

Hotel was under construction so there was not a place to eat within the hotel. The hotel store snacks were over priced. The other issues at this time was the inconvenience using one elevator to get to floor two. Tons of ppl on one elevator or waiting in a long line to get to next floor was awful. Room was comfortable but nothing outstanding. The positive about this hotel is location to time square. You are in the middle of everything.

I wanted to love this hotel, unfortunately it was not at all similar to other Marriott locations. I’m bummed because I passed up other hotels that would have been much better in favor of a well-known brand. The hotel room had years of accumulated dirt under the sinks and in the crevices. The paint was chipped and worn everywhere. Dirty grout in the bathroom. Just not the appearance of a place you are spending that much to stay. The location is of course the appeal, but there is no nice lobby to return to. The staff was very friendly and helpful when we need our key fixed. The issues go beyond a friendly staff unfortunately. The photos of the hotel are a bit deceiving. Definitely do not recommend. Sadly.

The stay was only okay. Disappointed with the room overall and the quality. The beds are smaller than advertised. The room was seemingly falling apart and didn’t seem super clean. The tub didn’t drain while taking a shower. There was dust on many surfaces. The walls are paper thin. I attached photos for reference.

Rooms are bigger than the average NYC hotel and it is in a great location. Only one criticism that the bathroom shower had a few mold spots that need attended to. Not a major issue but they should stay on top of it.

Rooms and common areas very clean. Room was cleaned daily during our stay. Great location literally across the street from the Hershey's store. Streets around the hotel can get very crowded with people and vehicle traffic. Check in is on first floor when you walk in on 7th Ave. Then you take an elevator to the lobby/concierge/bar/restaurant. Once you exit that elevator you walk straight ahead to the elevators that take you to your room. We will definitely stay here again. Everyone was friendly, great location, clean and modern and super comfortable pillow top mattress!

AC not working to cool unless you put on 64 to get it to 73. Mold on shower walls. Shower curtain rod loose on both ends almost coming off the walls with tiles loose. Pictures on website showed bathrooms with glass doors not shower curtains. Cleaning lady was nice and helpful but the walls require a maintenance team or Clorox to get rid of mold. They were so dirty with mold just not one spot.

The location is ideal. It’s close to everything, including the subway. The room itself was spacious and comfortable. Our only issue was all the noise. The door and windows are definitely not soundproof. You can hear everything going on at Times Square even though we were on the 12th floor. You can also hear everything going on in the hallway, every single door slamming, all the conversations in the hallway. Everything. It was really hard to sleep. Bring your ear plugs!

Bed was soft, maybe even too soft as we both woke up every day with aching backs and tons of food options for all pallets to enjoy! Definitely a prime Times Square location for food and shopping!

Bathroom / shower was out of body wash. I pulled to canister and placed on its side the that the maid would see we were out. It sat there, empty for 3 days. Pants dry cleaning was to be delivered by 10a. By six, no pants. Front desk blamed bellman. Bellman blamed front desk. Not up to Renaissance standards, for sure.

Renaissance Times Square is brilliantly located in a prime spot a few meters from the Red steps and the Broadway shows ticket office surrounded by restaurants and the Times Square activities. A short walk from the 46th Street lunch and dinner restaurants. The staff are incredibly reactive with a sense of urgency I have never experienced even in five star hotels all around the world. The staff of this Hotel should be super proud of themselves….guys you are super! The Property itself is very “tired” worn carpets, the lifts are dark and clunky, a blown light globe in one elevator hasn’t been replaced. Pretty similar to hotels around airports that possibly get close to 100% occupancy all of the time. The room and bath room were large for a NYC hotel, an abundance of towels were supplied daily and the house keeping staff were fabulous. Everything in the cafe/conveniece shop R on the lobby level was “opportunistically over priced”.

There was no dining options. If i had known i would not have booked the hotel. We had to pay for wifi when this is included in most hotel rates. We arrived at check in time and still had to wait an hour for our room. They didn't even provide complimentary water for the room and we had to travel 7 floors just to get ice! Even the front desk staff looked miserable not even a smile upon check in nor did they ask if we enjoyed our stay. The owner should seriously look into improving not just the restaurant they are renovating but also train staff on what hospitality is.

My friends and I got stuck in the elevator for 45 minutes, and we were not the only ones. The management has been less than amiable about compensating us for what was a traumatic event. NYC Firefighters had to come rescue us and they were FANTASTIC!!

The floor in room 1604 is sloping by about 10-20 degrees, It makes the bed near the door so uncomfortable, especially when you are full. When you lie down, you feel like you are in a slope. So you have to sleep with your head on the foot of the bed for you to be comfortable. The chambermaid was so rude. Kept knocking our door and rushing us because she wanted to clean. I wasn’t feeling well and She said she wasn’t going to be available after 1pm, so we just took towels. When we left at 2pm. She was there still cleaning. The next day, she did not do much apart from changing the towels and emptying the bins. We slept on the same bedsheets for 4 nights which is shameful. *The front desk/receptionist staff are warm and welcoming. Brilliant customer service. They are very helpful and also accommodating with a smile in their faces. They help sort out a taxi to the airport.

This stay started off rocky, upon asking one of the workings to be gentle with ours bags he immediately became rude and even took it far as to throw our bags on the curb and walked away. We were livid! Everyone one else were so friendly and professional top tier service.

The staff on front desk were absolutely amazing, lovely views , clean luxury feel rooms. We left a huge amount of cash accidentally and cleaning staff kept it there for us safely. They held our bags after check out for long hours. Absolutely will be back. Thank you !!!

A portable bar, some snacks/pre-packaged food and few tables that were not cleaned and crammed in a very small space. Your drink options were limited and you could not carry on a conversation, so we left. I would never have booked a room at this hotel had I known about its condition in advance. It certainly was not reflected in the price I paid.

This is a good hotel if you want to be in Times Square. The rooms are noisy due to Times Square but also construction next door that goes through the night. Rooms are large & beds comfortable. Our sink leaked & was never fixed. Staff were mostly wonderful. Bar & restaurant have great service & amazing view.

The staff was nice enough. The rooms were fairly clean. The restaurant was closed, which was a huge part of why we stayed at the hotel so that there would be late night food options. There was no other amenities offered VIP status was not acknowledged.

Great location in the heart of time square! Only downside was no room service and parking was expensive. But on the bright side, the food delivery services are very quick! i would definitely stay there again!
