Room wasn't great. AC didn't really work and so it was always 78 degrees or more. Pull out sofa was the worst thing I'd slept on, you could feel all the bars. Gym only had a few free weights and cardio machines. I never got a chance to try the breakfast and the elevators were always crowded. Bathroom was TINY. Corner room with city views wasn't worth what you were seeing. VERY loud outside (but I suppose that's New York). Mostly it came down to the bed/heat that really made staying here pretty miserable. THANKFULLY the first two days the temps outside were lower so we opened a window, but the last day the low was 80 and our room just never cooled down. No we didn't call because it was 1 in the morning and we just wanted to sleep. I wouldn't stay here again, I'd try somewhere else.

Clean room, worn out but utilitarian, decent breakfast, awful wait for elevators in the morning. If you get a lower floor there is no noise insulation from the street, and from the elevator machinery.

It has been a great experience with my family (2 children of 25 and 21 years ago).Very good breakfast every day with fresh fruits (apple,banana,ananas) ,salty food (eggs,bacon), Muffins bluberry,nuts and chocolate,cake and waffle (and garniture) prepared on saturday and belgian waffle prepared on saturday/sunday by cooker and self made along the week. Room provided of kitchen (only microwave and no stovel)..Only point to be addressed is the waiting time for the 4 elevators in some period along the day when traffic is high ( breakfast especially). It is slso availble a gym with the possibility ro re fill the bottle of water. Also available washing machine. Great position close to Times square.Excellent really.

Location is exellent! Elevators were not very convenient, you had to wait for them many times and one morning you we had to take 23 floors of stairs to get to breakfast since elevators were out of order.

It is pricey for the kind of service. You are paying for the convenience of being able to be within walking distance to the theater district. Not much food choices in the buffet. Bathroom was small. Valet parking charges $65 per day.

The customer service here is amazing. Everyone was super helpful and kind. They let us check in earlier than posted, they helped with directions, and everyone was easy to talk with. The breakfast was free and plentiful. Parking by valet and cost is $66.00 per day. But you can go earlier than your check in and explore the city before your check in time. Very close to Times Square, Bryant Park and the Empire State By. The subway is right there!! Easy to get to the Yankees game, the 911 Memorial and anywhere else in the city. Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks are right there as well a couple bakeries and shops. Rooms were clean and had a refrigerator and freezer. Well worth the money and we will absolutely be staying here next time we visit the city.

The hotel is worn anlthough in working order. We were on a lower floor, and the street traffic and the elevator machinery were very loud at night. The staff was good on the most part. Too few elevators for the number of rooms and floors.

The bathroom was horrible due to the toilet being broken and making so much noise and you can’t hardly sleep. As well as bugs in the kitchen area, where I kept on seeing them and I had to kill them so you can’t leave Food on the counter.

The carpet was dirty and the room had Ants … The window drapes were dusty and had everyone sneezing every nite….. The covers on the beds were Muskie and worn… Ahole in the wall that seems too leaking off and on …Rhe room phone could not make outbound calls nor call too the fro t desk .. The room they gave us , was for a Handicapped person … We reserved a Double bed regular room when booked … The AC vents were Gross and dusty , like no one cleaned them out in years! And the air coming out the vents kept us sneezing as well …. This was not worth the cost .. Did not enjoy my stay in New York for the first time …. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone….

The location of this hotel (within walking distance of Times Square; immediately next to the subway) makes it a great place to stay. Drawbacks are the overcrowded breakfast (we only went once and then opted to just buy breakfast elsewhere), the noise (mostly because our room was immediately next to elevators), and the poor wifi. But the location couldn't be beat, so it was worth it!

The lower ground floors are loud with the elevator noises all day and night. The rooms look small compared to what it looks like the pictures. The place is good location wise. Close to Bryant Park and subway stations. Felt dated.

Stayed at this hotel for 6 nights. Hotel is in the perfect location. 5 minutes to the Times Square and across street from Bryant park. Lots of places to eat around and lots of POIs are close by. Breakfast is decent but it is always crowded. Every hotel room has a small kitchen with full size fridge which was a big plus for a family with kids. Other than that, room shows its age definitely. Everything in the room feels old. We left the AC on 24/7 but it never gets cool enough. We couldn't get the room temperature below 76F. Bathroom was small and dirty. Location of the sink and toilet should be switched. We mentioned so many times that it is inconvenient to use the sink b/c it's hidden in the back of the door. Shower was clean but water pressure was bad. We had 2 double beds. Beds were Simmons and were comfortable, but the bed sheets were not that high quality. What keeps the hotel get high marks is the people who work there. We had pleasant experience at the front desk, maids, 3rd floor bfast buffet, and etc. Overall, the stay was satisfactory, and we enjoyed the trip to NY.

In a room for 3 adult people, one double bed and one couch. I complained, twice, at the reception that the couch I was sleeping on was terribly unconfortable (had a two-inch thick mattress) they just put a 1 inch thin topper. I SLEPT FOR A WEEK ON THE FLOOR WITH THE SOFA CUSHIONS. Would you call this a 4 stars hotel? Breakfast was good.

This hotel had the loudest elevators I've ever heard. Unfortunately due to the narrow foot print on each floor, most of the rooms are close to the elevators. The elevators make a loud roar with a clack clack clack sound. It made sleep difficult. The literally made the room vibrate. If you want a restful night sleep, find another hotel.

Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Breakfast is included with your stay, and the breakfast every morning was AMAZING. Tons of food options and were very good. My only negative would be being able to hear the elevator go up/down all day from our room. The elevators are also super busy from 8-10 am. The front desk did tell us that upon check in so that was to be expected. Our room was great. Our room had a full refrigerator, paper towels, and even dishes to eat on. We had a great view of the Empire State Building. I would stay at this hotel again. It’s in a very convenient location. And their breakfast buffet is another reason I’d come back!

My family arrived at 1 AM and the front desk staff was very rude with them, making them wait 2 hours for their rooms. They lied about many things as their credit cards were not passing through and it was exhausting and abusive since they didn’t speak fluent English.

Checked into first room without problem. Toilet was running very loudly every five mins. Called and asked for maintenance. After an hour without any attention I called again. An hour after that I was told I would be moved to another room. The room I was moved to had no amenities, empty soap dispenser in the shower, flat pillows, thread bare towels, a balled up comforter. All of this, and it was not located to a room with a view that I paid an up-charge for. I finally got a hold of the manager who told me I would be comped a night. But that never happened. Will not likely stay here when I’m NyC next time.

The staff at the Residence Inn is professional, welcoming, gracious and very helpful and kind. The hotel is well kept, perfectly located for walking or subway all over New York. Breakfast was outstanding, food is fresh and the coffee was terrific. Highly recommend and this will be our top choice and recommendation for upcoming visits.

The front desk staff is friendly and welcoming. We were exhausted from a red eye flight. They let us leave our bags and offered complimentary breakfast before our room was available. Our room was clean, spacious and all staff interactions were professional and pleasant. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable. Great location to get to shows and time square.

Location was strategic. But it didnt have a pick up and drop off area. We had 4 big luggages and had to be dropped off in the middle of the busy street. Hotel staff are okay but not service oriented. I was n pain for 4 days due to an infected gum and I couldnt even get a recommendation for a place or dentist. They did take care of us when its a tipping service like assisting in a luggage or hailing a cab. :(

The location is great and all of the staff were so nice and welcoming. I have stayed here before for a work trip and had to come back. The breakfast buffet is good and I love that they change up the menu day to day. The food is good, just make sure you don't go when its the busy time because it will be difficult to get elevators.

Rooms were spacious and clean, albeit a bit tired in places. Breakfast was not great and when I asked the chef for information about ingredients (my son has a severe peanut allergy) they were unhelpful and dismissive.
