This hotel was okay, but for the price they are charging it should be much better. The room was a little dingy- clearly not updated often. The phone didn't work, because the cord didn't stretch far enough to reach the outlet. The cabinet where there was once a fridge had the handles ripped off. I was told that there are 700 rooms, and only 50 mini fridges that must be reserved in advance. Despite a huge lobby with lots of tables and chairs and seating (almost empty of people) there was no place that you were allowed to sit and eat a snack. In pouring rain they couldn't offer a loaner umbrella-- now that's the kind of amenity that is actually useful. We were on the top (22nd) floor, and you could still hear the honking cabs below. The room darkening window blind did not fully fit the window or have drapes surrounding it, which meant that the skyscraper office building lights across the street (which stay on all night) were visible from the bed. Despite all of this, the cleaning staff and the doorman were very kind.

Staff and location of this hotel are amazing. Cleanliness of bathroom was not what I expected but I don’t think it was entirely the fault of housekeeping - the fixtures the bathroom was designed with appeared difficult to keep clean. For example, the bathroom door is on a sliding track that is hard to wipe or mop around so dirt and hair were accumulated there. It was unpleasant to see during our stay but the rest of the room was tidy.

I was very disappointed. Check in was at 4pm and rooms were not ready for many of the guests. If you wanted earlier check in it cost $150! There was construction going on in the hotel beginning at 7am which was VERY LOUD and lasted the entire morning we were in the room! We were not notified of any ongoing construction and paid a lot of money for a premium room. I was very disappointed.

Great location and the room was clean, but the staff seemed to be unprepared, or so new at their job that they were overwhelmed and not helpful. We felt unseen and were made to wait an hour after check-in time before we got our room. Also, renovations were on-going during our stay on the floor above us. We had a rude awakening every morning. At no time were we warned about this, or was it even acknowledged. The staff seemed very unprepared and terrible at customer service. Hopefully, that will all approve over time, but I'd look for other hotel options. The room rate is equal to others in the area, so without a big discount, the downside to this property makes it not worth it. I've stayed at five other hotels in the Broadway/Time Square area and they were all better.

Very nice hotel well located on 51st and 7th Ave. Nice surprise to note that as of September 1, 2026 it is a Crown Plaza so I can get IHG points next time.
