W New York - Union Square

Elevators weren’t working. Staff was nice and helpful. Rooms was great.

The hotel has been recently renovated with a design that channels a Scarface-era vibe—think updated 1970s with plenty of chrome and glass blocks. While the aesthetic is unique, the overall experience falls short. The lobby is underwhelming, and the elevators are painfully slow. The location is convenient, but the room service food is reminiscent of an IKEA cafeteria—uninspired and forgettable. For what you get, the stay feels overpriced.

Property under renovation -- so no lobby or waiting area. But rooms were finished and most of the staff were very friendly. Loved the location in Union Square and the ease of taking the subway from there. The room was a good size and clean. Cleaning staff very conscientious and friendly.

The suite we stayed in most of the time was very nice and roomy. We were sad to have to move to a smaller room at the end of our stay since we decided to stay longer than we originally planned. When we arrived after a flight delay and rough time getting to the hotel, the manager was very graceful in upgrading my original room to the suite which we were very thankful and appreciative of. The drawer with built in fridge was very nice and shower was spacious. I loved the table with vanity mirror aside from the double sink for sitting to do makeup. The view from the bedroom was exquisite and we could see Empire State Building which we loved. The two tvs was very nice and fitness center was great too. They even accommodated with a microwave and tea bags when I had a cold. I asked for extra fluffy pillows which were great too. The popcorn is a little expensive and couches didn’t really have a back part to lay against. When we moved to the spectacular room the door didn’t really lock when closed and fridge didn’t get very cold but it was ok for one night. They do have pastries every morning which is great. I’d just only stay somewhere different if I was wanting a full breakfast but maybe they are working on it since I know they are under kitchen renovations. I would definitely stay here again if they are welcome to it :) I think it’s a very safe and convenient hotel, security opens the doors for you and stands by the elevators too so it feels very protected. Everything is close too

Beautiful hotel in a great location. Everyone is incredibly kind. The hotel staff all referred to us by name over the 12 days we were there, which is such a kind gesture it really makes you feel at home. The housekeeping staff was incredibly kind and gracious. I mentioned that my husband was working from the room, so they left towels and toiletries in a bag by the door so as not to disturb him. Every time I saw the housekeeper in the hall, she asked if we needed anything else and was wonderful about any requests. I used the business center several times for work while I was there. The printer was out of ink and stapler was out of staples. I let the front desk know and they had replaced the ink and staples for me within 5 minutes! Every time I went in there for the rest of my stay, everything was perfect. I really cannot recommend this hotel highly enough!

I LOVED this hotel. I know it has only recently been renovated but wow, it's perfect. The staff are wonderful. Location is perfect. Rooms are so spacious and comfortable. I slept like a baby, which I rarely do when travelling. The beds are superb. The bathrooms are fantastic and I really wanted to steal the toiletries. The gym is absolutely brilliant - has everything you need. Felt like a small version of a high end chain like Equinox. The Peloton room is cute. The F&B facilities weren't open yet when I stayed but you're in the middle of NYC so who cares? The coffee and pastries put on in the lobby each morning was a lovely touch. I loved my stay here. I will definitely be back.

The floors require keycard access which helps the property feel more safe in NYC and union square is lovely! The restaurant is still closed for renovations and the bar, which was the only bummer! The design/aesthetics were lovely & provided toiletries were top notch!

I was very disappointed that I received an email AFTER I checked in that there was construction and there was no restaurant or any food on the premises. This is important information to include BEFORE booking a room! Also when i turned down my bed the sheet was dirty and there was hair. When we moved the blinds an old glass of wine was on the window sill. I spoke with management she told me there was nothing that could be done because I booked through Expedia. I am extremely disappointed in the W brand.

The hotel was under construction in certain areas. Therefore, there was no lobby or restaurant available during our stay. However, the rooms were brand new and very clean. The staff was super friendly and very accommodating.

The room was filthy dirty. There was pills all over the floor. The staff opened the door and walked in on my 14-year-old daughter naked when we continuously said don’t open the door. May we help you? May we help you then the next day at 8 AM while all my family was asleep Their staff opened the door again and walked right into my room then there was a stapler or something on the floor and it stabbed my daughter in the foot.

Although bar and restaurant was under renovations this did not impact our stay. Staff was friendly and went out of their way for us throughout our stay. Room was very clean, bed was comfortable and amenities were wonderful. Even though our room faced the interior space and not much of a view, we didn’t mind this as we were out exploring and it was very quiet at night.

I chose this hotel based on location. It was only 2 blocks from an event that I was attending. I arrived in NY earlier than planned and stopped by the hotel to see if I could drop off my bag. My check-in time was 4pm and I arrived at 11am. I was given a room that was available immediately and a little less expensive. I was very happy to take the room, I didnt care about it not having a good view. The room was on the 7th floor, quiet and very clean. A renovation was taking place while I was there, but it didnt cause any issues for me. I was very pleased with the staff and the convenience of the location. Super easy to walk virtually anywhere you want to see all attractions in Manhattan. I'd have no hesitation to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Manhattan.

We chose the W Hotel on Union Square because of the proximity to our son's apartment. The W Hotel was conveniently located. The staff was friendly and professional. Our room (two queen-sized beds) was comfortable and clean.

I had such a wonderful experience at the W Hotel in Union Square! I chose this hotel because it was so close to my daughter’s dorm, and I’m so glad I did. After trying out a few different places during my visits, I can honestly say this was the best! I felt right at home and so comfortable. The room was spotlessly clean, and I was happy to find no unpleasant odors on the carpet. Plus, the mattress and bedding were so cozy, perfect for someone like me who deals with back pain. Overall, it was a fantastic stay!

hotel under construction, no food, no bar no room service, i asked Hotels.com to move me to another location and your Asian counterpart did not want to work with me. Bathroom smelled ( old wet towels ) very musky smelling

Nice stay but will consider other locations next time. No dressers or anywhere to put cloths and liked how previously the bar and restaurant was available to guests.

W Hotels never disappoint. This was our first time at the Union Square location, and everything was perfect. Attentive staff and a quiet, comfortable hotel. We hope to visit again soon!

The hotel room was HOT and stuffy. The ac unit did not get very cool. We woke up nightly sweating. The pillows were flat. We were notified after we booked there was no room service or bar service due to remodeling. Overall, for the price we paid, this hotel was subpar and we will not go back.

The view from the room of the city was spectacular. No buildings blocking our view.

Great room - spacious with great views!!

Great room, newly renovated. No lock on bathroom doors and a nearly unusable makeup mirror (fixed to bathroom wall in an odd spot, no chair to sit) were the only drawbacks. Super friendly front desk. Having doormen made us/our belongings feel safe.

Amazing service

The gentlemen in the day at the front desk were very nice. The last in the evening at the front desk was just plain uninterested in her job. Asking something felt like I was bothering her.

The staff was rude, unable to communicate effectively.

A great hotel in a great location. The service was literally as good as it gets! Every detail attended to when you pull right up to the door. You don’t even need to lug your own carts up to the room or down to the car.

Even better than you could imagine. Service was wonderful. Example- I had just checked out with an early flight to jfk. It was 6:15am, coffee service starts at 6:30 , while sad to hear the news I understood. Stepped outside and ordered my Uber. The gentleman that sets up coffee showed up just as I stepped outside, the front desk concierge let him know I needed a cuppa coffee. He ran to the back and got me a cup of coffee before my Uber driver arrived. I had a delicious hot coffee for the hour long trip to JFK. Those little details and extra efforts really make this hotel something spectacular.

Staff at check in were engaged and welcoming. Got me early check in (noon!) and were very accommodating

my family of four had the most incredible time on NYC at this location. The hotel staff were absolutely incredible and beyond accommodating. Excellent close recommendations for both food and drink were provided as the hotel is currently pending the city to open their on site restaurants. This location is by far the best we have stayed in NYC during the peak holiday season. Thank you to the entire W Marriott Staff for making our holiday absolutely magical ❤️

None Horrible / Waiting for three hours to get to my room after I was promised I’ll get in by three pm the manager must be New she did not know what to prioritize and get my room ready very upset And I expect some kind of discount for all this trouble.

This is a nice place to stay. I liked that it was close to the subway, Whole Foods, Starbucks, and many other places. It was quiet and the bed was comfortable. The staff was great too. If I visit New York City again I will definitely stay here again.

Was very convenient getting around great selection of restaurants.

Spent plenty of time walking all around the surrounding area and the location cannot be beat. The staff is super welcoming and helpful. Since we were staying a few days we were upgraded to a better view of Union Square and it was amazing.

The hotel is well located, quite, very friendly staff, very walkable and easy access.

The hotel does not have a restaurant for lunch or dinner. The rooms do not have slippers. The rooms are very small. The rooms are not cleaned properly, just the minimum possible. Avoid this hotel.

Perfect location in Times Square. Hotel's restaurant was under renovation during my visit so hotel offered coffee and pastries in the lobby in the morning. Tomkin Square Bagel is also a block away. Room was quiet and comfortable.
