Check in was okay, the elevator ride to the 3rd floor was almost unbearable. The elevator has a very loud, not normal noise. The hallways could use a thorough vacuuming. They were visibly dirty. Our room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good, could have been great. Keeping the offerings fresh looking would help. Sausage was dried out, the biscuits were a bit hard on the outside, but soft on the inside.

I really enjoyed my stay here! The bed was AMAZING! So comfortable I didn't want to get out of bed. Seriously, if all Holiday Inn Express have these mattress toppers, this is the only hotel I want to stay at now! Tub seemed a little bit worn but the shower pressure was very good. Breakfast was fantastic! Hot cinnamon rolls, a pancake machine, hot eggs, biscuits and gravy, sausage, fresh fruit, yogurts, cereal, oatmeal cups. I really love a hot breakfast and everything was delicious! The only thing to call out - the walls are relatively thin. I was able to hear a surrounding room very clearly having some "afternoon delight" and then a repeat performance in the evening. I am glad they enjoyed themselves but this was NOT something I needed or wanted to hear and was quite uncomfortable. Additionally, the elevator was not working well. You would get in and then the doors wouldn't close for a full minute or two, followed by a buzzing noise. I was definitely worried about getting stuck in there and chose to take the stairs a couple times when I didn't have things to carry. I mentioned it to the front desk and they were pretty neutral about it like "oh yeah, it's been giving us trouble." OK, is there a repairman that has been called? What have you done to ensure this won't be a problem moving forward? So that was another negative, hopefully it has been fixed by now. I'll definitely stay here again when in McAlester.

Our room was not ready when we arrived at 3:30. The hot tub is green and filled with dirt, algae, and flowers. It was blocked off with a cone. Our key card worked at first but not later. HD to get reprogrammed but then still didn’t work. Worker finally gave a new card. Guy at front desk is friendly, just have had a lot of issues.

Overall, the room was relatively nice and of decent size. However, when we pulled out the sofa bed, my son & noticed what appeared to be dead bed bugs. The toilet was also running & leaking on the floor around the toilet. When I took the cover off the tank to see what might be causing it to keep running, I noticed it was very corroded inside the tank, and there appeared to be mold growing around the inside of the tank. The outdoor pool and hot tub did not appear to be well maintained or clean. I also struggled falling asleep because people were in the pool well past the 10 pm closing time. When I mentioned this to the gentleman at the front desk, he said he closed the pool down by 10:30. However, we heard people being very loud in the pool for an hour or more past that time, even from our 3rd floor bedroom that overlooked the pool, and we still had another 6 hours to drive the next day for our trip. For the breakfast, though there were containers for a hot breakfast, the staff never put out any hot food. We were promptly informed there was no hot food by other hotel guests, so the disappointed was very apparent from other patrons.

Definitely not looking to complain, the stay was adequate; but for what I paid, I expected MUCH better. The room smelled like mildew and was really damp feeling in the pillows, the room door took 30 to 50 attempts to open every single time and the front desk just told me to lift up on the door handle ( didn't work) and other guests would walk by and say " oh yours does that too," like it was an ongoing issue with all the rooms, the room was not clean; hairs under the toilet seat, dirt in the caulk line if the tub, the carpet had dirt, etc, and the pool skimmer seemed to be broken because the water was completely covered full of bugs and various leaves, also the spa was shut down. I could have went to the next door hotel and save $50 on my stay there and I wish I did.

Showed up at 10:45 and were told we would be in room 305. We went to our room and the door was open and the beds were not made. We went back downstairs, and were then assigned 320. We went up to 320 and the room was again open and dirty. We went back downstairs and were told the staff would check on a room on the second floor and if it wasn’t clean, it would be cleaned shortly and we could finally go in our room. Finally at midnight, over an hour after arrival, we were able to go to room 220 for the night. The pillows on each bed had a horrible smell to them. The pool was not cleaned and the lock to the door on the pool did not work. When we checked out, we were told by the hotel they had us down to stay until 7/18, but I verified with my Expedia booking that we only booked one night. Horrible experience and I demand a refund.

The room very clean but the pool are very dirty, the ac in the room when starting has a very loud buzzing noise which woke us up all night, after about 15 seconds it would smooth out and sound fine. In the pool area there are two very poorly hung pergolas waiting to fall and cause a serious injury’ they are attached to the pool maintained building by two ledger boards at one end’ the ledger board is attached to the building with small screws, you can actually see the ledger board starting to detach from the building. If that board fails the whole very heavy pergola will fall straight down, very poorly built. Also the toilet runs on after flushing, the ball chain gets stuck under the water stop in the tank, needs to be shortened. Last, black mold in a small corner of the tub.

upon arrival there was poor lighting under the awning and the trash can was overflowing with trash where I observed the front desk attendant smoking at a later time. also all lighted parking on the street side of building was taken and I had to park in the unlight back part and that wad concerning, the room was lovely but the key card only worked the first time and I had to go get it fixed for my second arrival, I was on the complete opposite side of front desk service. The deal braker was no ICE on the 4th floor and I had no hot water for my shower. seemed to be a newer facility so why didn't these things work.??

The bed was very comfortable and there was a choice of firm or soft pillows which was very nice. However the overall condition of the room needed some maintenance. The shower enclosure caulking had mold, the shower head had mold, and the shower head was not strapped in the wall and it moved back and forward. One of the drawer handles had come completely loose and fell off. There was a light missing above the coffee brew station. The staff could not freshen our room after our first day (we spent two nights) because of staffing shortages. Over all I would not recommend this hotel.

The facility lobby was noticeably dirty. Mud on the floors, elevator was very dirty with smudges all over the walls. There was one staff member that was very nice but overwhelmed. During a time when people were checking in, she was by herself. The only time we saw another staff person was at breakfast(which was well stocked).

We had a great stay at the Holiday Inn! The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed. The beds were cozy, and the AC worked perfectly—which was a huge plus in the summer heat. The hotel was quiet, and we all slept great. The location was super convenient, with easy access to restaurants and stores. Check-in and check-out were quick and hassle-free. Overall, it was a smooth and enjoyable experience. We’d definitely stay here again!

Tv didn’t work lagged behind or froze, refrigerator did not work. Could not keep anything cold. And went to take shower to find one towel.

Best hotel experience in a while. We were VERY pleasantly surprised by our stay here. We booked last minute on a road trip as a place to spend the night. The price was very affordable and the room was so comfortable, clean, and spacious. Nothing flashy, but we agreed it was the most comfortable and functional room we’ve stayed in for a while—especially with a baby. Service was excellent. And the breakfast was GREAT. Best free hotel breakfast I’ve seen. Cheese omelets, sausage, biscuits—all delicious. I never write hotel reviews, most stays are average or poor or forgettable. But we were so pleasantly surprised we had to leave a review and say you won’t regret staying here! It will be our planned halfway stop on future road trips for sure.

I booked this property for my son and his girlfriend who happened to get stranded in the area bc of the winter storm Jan. 2025. Being from the Houston, TX area, 21 years of age and not knowing the least bit about driving on ice/snow..I knew I just wanted them safe. Within minutes, I get a call from them( my son & girlfriend) telling me the lady at the front desk was very rude. Their toilet was clogged and my son wanted a plunger to unclog it, instead of just calling for maintenance. The front desk lady told them to go to Walmart. - If they would have wrecked driving in those conditions bc this hotel would not address simple maintenance issues- I would have sued. This same lady would later make comments directly to them referring to why they were still at the hotel. My son is Mexican & American Indian Choctaw MOWA. My son's girlfriend is black...would it be just a hunch to think that this woman could have just been racist. Holiday Inn- do something about your front desk! They are rude!

The facility lobby was noticeably dirty. Mud on the floors, elevator was very dirty with smudges all over the walls. There was one staff member that was very nice but overwhelmed. During a time when people were checking in, she was by herself. The only time we saw another staff person was at breakfast(which was well stocked).

Impromptu extra night stay when I just couldn’t keep my eyes open driving anymore. Felt safe, clean, well-lit. Loved the separate room for the suite so the girls could still stay up chatting & not keep me up. All four of us slept well. Very comfortable beds. Might help to add a mirror in the extra room. We had a great stay at the Holiday Inn! The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed. The beds were cozy, and the AC worked perfectly—which was a huge plus in the summer heat. The hotel was quiet, and we all slept great. This was a very clean hotel! The lady who checked us in was very friendly. The beds were some of the best I’ve ever had in a hotel. My only complaint is the breakfast was all a little overdone and dried out but that was a very minor thing compared to the rest of the stay.

Overall, the room was relatively nice and of decent size. However, when we pulled out the sofa bed, my son & noticed what appeared to be dead bed bugs. The toilet was also running & leaking on the floor around the toilet. When I took the cover off the tank to see what might be causing it to keep running, I noticed it was very corroded inside the tank, and there appeared to be mold growing around the inside of the tank. The outdoor pool and hot tub did not appear to be well maintained or clean. I also struggled falling asleep because people were in the pool well past the 10 pm closing time. When I mentioned this to the gentleman at the front desk, he said he closed the pool down by 10:30. However, we heard people being very loud in the pool for an hour or more past that time, even from our 3rd floor bedroom that overlooked the pool, and we still had another 6 hours to drive the next day for our trip. For the breakfast, though there were containers for a hot breakfast, the staff never put out any hot food. We were promptly informed there was no hot food by other hotel guests, so the disappointed was very apparent from other patrons.

The hot tubs was not working, the rooms were not properly stocked, we had to ask for the bedding for the pull out couch, the breakfast was not fully available as the stove in the kitchen was broken. There was also mold in the bathroom and on the shower curtain.

We have stayed here many times. Is a stop we generally use when choosing this route to visit family and split up the drive. Nice clean facility with easy parking here. McAlester is a small city in Oklahoma.
