This place was charming. There’s a pond in the back with a gazebo overlooking it. It was so peaceful. This is one of those down-home places. Even though some things about it are older, like the carpet, we love staying places like this. The staff was so personable and above and beyond helpful.

We stay here frequently and the staff treats us like family. The rooms are huge with comfortable furniture. I often work while I'm there. There's a nice big table to work on and good internet. They also have an on-site restaurant that serves Indian (Asian) food.

The back driveway needs repairing badly. Otherwise if you're not looking for fancy this is a great little hotel. The staff is very nice and helpful, the room is quite large and comfortable. We've stayed here several times and never had a problem. We'll stay here again.

The staff was nice, but this place is barely a notch above a Motel 6. My room had no hair dryer; I had to ask for washcloths; the “amenities” were minimal; there was a used q-tip left in the bathroom; I found at least 3 black hairs on the bed and in the bathroom; I was supposed to receive a free beverage as part of my check-in, but that didn’t happen; and the breakfast was less than something you’d find at a homeless shelter (a waffle iron, jug of milk, and two kinds of cereal should not constitute a breakfast at any hotel/motel/inn), and the bed was nothing more than a wobbly mattress and box springs.

Don’t rent here. Getting in and out of this place is a death in the making. Located off a busy highway with no turning lane and a sizable drop off on either direction. A cockroach landed on my leg while viewing tv. The bed sheets were old and turning yellow. There was a big hole on the bathroom door that was made by the previous guest. I did my due diligence and reviewed the rating on this motel and it was described as a good place. Something went wrong.

The sheets had stains the towels looked dirty and the whole room smelt musty and of urine. The furniture was old and worn and the bed was so close to the ac unit you had to step over the ac to get to the back side of the bed. There was a bulb missing in the bathroom and the bathroom was very small compared to the size of the room. The coffee in the room was very limited and tasted old. Only had decaf. This property had a very high review on Hotel.com but it definately did not live up to it. The one good thing was that the room was very quiet.

This was my 3rd stay at this hotel. The other 2 were much better because of my room location this visit. I was in the HWY side this time and truck noise kept waking me up. Also my room back up to the office and I could smell incense burning that made sneeze. This bed was not as soft as the other 2 visits.

We found the room to be clean, spacious (executive suite), cool and quiet, great after a hot day on the road, and personnel were all very nice. Enjoyed the patio area in the back that evening. Drive to nearby restaurants wasn't too far. Maybe a bit run-down but served our family well. Continental breakfast was a bit sparse, and who puts a limit on how much coffee you can have??! But still worth a 4 rating IMO.

Very conveniently located on main road; just outside of McAlester, clean and quiet. However, desperately needed a better AC system.It was very stuffy and high humidity. I woke up and was stopped up from being so stuffy. Needs a dehumidifier in each room.

Nice motel at a great price along US 69 in Savana Oklahoma (south of McAlester). Our room was ENORMOUS and the desk service was friendly. The upholstery in the sofa is beginning to show it's age and is breaking down. Due to the volume of traffic on US 69, it's difficult to turn into and out of the motel to and from the highway. Otherwise this is a great place to stay in the McAlester area.

Was very convenient spot during a long drive. I had called to say I would be a late checkout and the front desk guy waited for me to arrive before locking up the facility which I thought was very nice. The decor was very mismatched but the size of my room was very large. There was a full size couch in the sitting area. Would definitely stop here again if needed.

This place was amazing, as always, especially after a trip filled with hotels with no customer service and high incidental fees. We walked in at 1:30 am, gave the clerk my name, started to pull out my ID, and he said, "I got it, here's your key". That was it. Less than a minute to check in, no high incidental fees, total kindness to a couple checking in late after a long drive. And the room was large, inviting, and comfortable with a pretty view of the pond. That was the perfect ending to our trip. Thank you!

I got in very late, paid EXTRA for extended checkout and asked to not be disturbed in the morning. I was woken up TWICE in the morning after requesting not to be disturbed as well as putting the “ Do not disturb” sign on my door. Bad experience.

The staff alerted me that there was tornado activity in 2 towns nearby & tornado sirens were going off, and I should delay driving to pick up my take-out order until the warnings had been lifted. The owner also allowed me to park under the roof over their front door to protect my car from potential hail damage overnight. Was well-protected!

We have stayed at the Candlelight Inn a couple times in our way to Texas. Great both times! Christina at the front desk was very welcoming and helpful with our late evening arrival. It’s an older place but very well-maintained and you can’t beat the convenience or price.

This hotel is actually 6 miles outside of Mc Alester, OK, in Savana. Check in was quick and friendly. Room was large and clean, with 2 ceiling fans! The restaurant in the hotel closed so we had to backtrack to McAlester for supper as there were minimal options in Savana. We would stay there again because of the price but stop for supper first. Breakfast was minimal but again ok for the price. There is a picnic area in the back where we walked a bit during breakfast, before starting another day of travel.

As others have said, this is an older property but very clean. The lady at the front desk was very nice. We opted to go someplace for a more complete breakfast though. We were on the side of the property along the highway with round the clock 18-wheelers making lots of noise.

Best value for a motel in the region. Room was excellent. It was nicer than many chain motels for much less. Staff was friendly. Only issue I had was that the breakfast was not diabetic friendly. However, there was a diner just up the road.
