Mountain Vista Inn & Suites - Walking Distance to the Island

The property was a great location. The staff very friendly. The rooms were clean but could use some fresh paint. The hotel rooms were being renovated so there were PILES of old furniture in the parking lot and boxes in the hallways to be put into the rooms. The elevator ceiling was falling down and unsafe and the pool looked murky. First impressions were bad.

The front desk people were not friendly, just seemed bored or indifferent. The room was clean but vastly misrepresented in photos. it’s in a pretty noisy location, and the pool was so dirty and cloudy. The elevator smells of mildew and the ice machine was dirty.

Upon checkin we were told no water. Then room not ready even though it was after 4p. After a small arguement, i was given my key to my room. Room was okay. Definitely an older building that has had some updates. Could be cleaner and more updated. Once water was back on, we never got hot water in the 2 days we were there. Pool Definitely needs to be updated. It appeared dirty but it was just the concrete that was stained. Granddaughter still had a great time in the pool. Upon leaving the pool, (the 3 times she went swimming) she was forced to take a cold shower due to no hot water. Beds were clean and comfy. No tray in microwave so couldnt use. Freezer part of fridge needs to be dethawed. Couldnt use. Office locked when tried to get coffee both mornings at 730. No breakfast served even tho site said "continental breakfast ". Housekeeping came in our room twice while we were gone even tho we didnt ask for new towels or our beds made. (Didnt like this part as i was traveling with myself (single woman) and my granddaughter. ) Air conditioner very old but worked. Hardly any parking. Had to park jn a lot behind the hotel about 1/2 block away. Felt very unsafe for a single woman and 9yr old. Hardly any lighting. Overall, i would give this hotel a 2 star.

Needs up dated and pool was drained. Pop machine didn’t work. No plug in for coffee pot had to move it. Needs up dated

Very limited parking. We were on ground floor and never got a parking spot near our room. No breakfast provided.

The hotel was in a great location so that we walked to most places. They were in the middle of doing upgrades so the old furniture was thrown in the parking lot taking up several spaces but we were able to find parking in the lot across the back street with no problem. We only stayed one night and for the price the room was acceptable. Would recommend if only going for a quick 1-2 night getaway.

stove did not work called said they would come fix finally had to go get them.pool was out of service was the main reason for picking hotel if it does not work do not advertise it

It was a nice motel and close to everything so you could walk. Walked to the island in like 3 minutes. It was clean, friendly and comfortable. Definitely will be staying again. Pool was not as clean as I would of liked it to be it was cloudy, but the rest was nice

Not very nice, doors didn’t close well, pool was very dirty, beds not comfortable, not good water pressure, the pull out bed was broken on one side, a life experience that I will not do again, very limited parking at the motel, very disappointing stay

The only complaint that I have is that the elevators had a very bad odor and there was no parking along the hotel you had to park in a back lot.

This place was absolutely horrible!! They have bedbugs it’s disgusting dirty!! Hair on walls! Sticky on every surface!! Electrical hazards everywhere! It needs to be shut down. Please drop them from listings like your competition did!! The worst customer service I have ever seen in my life making several trips a year coming to this area! we’ve never left a hotel never we did this one!! Save your money!!

The ceiling could use a vacuum but other than that the room was very clean and we enjoyed our time there and a great price

Upon arrival at Mountain Vista Inn in Pigeon Forge, we were immediately appalled by the condition of the property. The parking lot and surrounding area were covered in trash, cigarette butts, and spilled liquids dripping from above onto parked cars. It looked completely neglected and dirty. When I went inside to check in, the front desk clerk rudely told me our room was not available even though we had arrived well after the posted check-in time. We accepted this and left to return later, but when we finally checked in, the experience was worse. The lobby was filthy, smelled terrible, and was cluttered with random items. The check-in process took far too long, and the staff was unfriendly and dismissive. When we entered our room, we were horrified. There were cockroaches crawling around, blood stains on the walls and sheets, and cigarette burns across nearly every surface. The room reeked of smoke and mildew, and it was immediately clear this was not a safe or clean place to stay. I went back to the front desk to express concern and requested a different room. I was told there were no other options, but housekeeping would take care of the issues. We left for several hours, hoping the problems would be resolved, but when we returned, nothing had been cleaned or replaced. We returned the keys, told the staff we would not be staying, and left. This hotel is filthy, unsafe, and should be avoided by anyone who values cleanliness or comfort.

We picked this property because it had a great view of the island. Well after checking in and taking our bags up we found dirty boxers in the floor. Asked to have them clean and that was an issue. Then when we settled down for showers we realized that there's black mold all over the ceiling in the bathroom. As my husband gets out of the shower without a mat he falls. We where told by the owner he didnt give a sh*t. The vent in the bathroom didn't work. The remotes needed batteries and we were told the didn't have any. The owner cussed me out and called me a dumb white b*itch. 0/10 stars I do not recommend!

The room smelled like mold and mildew, even after being recently renovated. The bedding on all the beds were nasty like they had not been washed before our check in. One bed in particular had what looked like dried vomit all over the sheets. When we notified the staff they were completely unphased. They did finally come to the room and change the sheets but left the mattress cover that was also covered in vomit. We will absolutely never stay there again.

Room was in terrible condition and covered in stains in walls. Spider webs and an empty condom wrapper was left on balcony. Smelled of mold and mildew.

Dirty sheets, felt like we had to keep shoes on the entire time in the room. Didn't even have a drink machine or vending machine. Wouldn't recommend.

Disgusting! First room had poop and blood on toilet and the doors and baseboards were badly damaged. Second room had blood on the bed and a hair on the sheets and blood on toilet. There was a gross plunger in the bathroom. Random fridge in open corridor. The elevator said for emergency call 911 or Bert (and listed his number). The bathtub for awful and thr level of dust dirt on vents I have never seen before. The last straw was yellow stains on the pillows. I asked if this was normal and was told They are working on renovations but my Mother in laws room had been renovated but wasn’t much better. The floors in the rooms were super sticky. I showed the front desk the pictures but they didn’t have anything to stay! I asked for a refund and was denied due to booking through Expedia but Expedia said there wasn’t an option for a refund per the hotel. So we are out that stay and had to find another hotel last minute. It was very stressed! I would not let my dog stay here!

Booked and arrived paid a deposit and got to room and checked beds there was a Bed Bug problem and this wasn’t recent due to the stains and cluster of baby

The hotel could be nice with some updates. The room was not bad but had some flaws. Holes in walls, grim on baseboards, dust in bathroom vent.

Overall this hotel is pretty good for the price. The location is perfect, staff was friendly and it felt pretty clean. The pool area was clean, but had limited towels available. We had a two bedroom and should note that there are no air conditioning vents, so if the doors are closed there is no ac. There was a ceiling fan but it doesnt help much. My biggest complaint would be the noise from neighboring rooms. Walls are thin and if there is a loud group next door you can hear everything, and the whole room shakes if the door isnt closed gently.

Noisy part of town. Very limited parking. Building was very aged and lacked upkeep and updates. Rooms were bright and noisy, with sounds of water flushing overhead, people talking all around, traffic and sirens. It was the only thing available for a quick overnight stop, very expensive, and we won’t be back.

A for effort in renovation but anything silver like the sprinklers and corners of the bathroom looked old moldy and or rusty . The tile ceilings were ugly and the pool we so badly wanted to get in looked small and dirty . I will say the suite I rented that had three bedrooms and three big beds were great my kids had their own room with an tv in each room . The price was 150.00 for a one night stay July 2025 including taxes . And it was within walking distance to Paula Deans and Alcatraz . Saw no bugs so that's always a plus.

Very nice, large updated room. In a perfect location to walk to many attractions. Rooms all have outside balcony entrances, but the view is worth mentioning. No breaakfast, but the price wad very good.

We have stayed several times with no issue. This time we had a 3 bedroom on the 6th floor. I knew the names of everyone in the room beside me and we never met. One child said good morning neighbors to us..thru the wall!! Had to listen to a baby cry most of the night when we paid to get some sleep. Room was clean as usual.

The family suite was perfect for my family of 5.

The suite was exactly what we wanted! Comfortable and clean! We were close to most touristy spots.

Bathroom was pretty shabby. Tub floor was peeling up, tub nozzle was very loose. Hotel was extremely loud as well. You could hear everything your neighbors and those above you were doing.

We stayed in the top floor penthouse suite. It was spacious but in need of repairs. The AC leaked water fron the ceiling. There were no working tv remotes. The bed sheets had stains. We arrived late, about 11:30pm and wouldnt have had time to find another place or we definitely wouldnt have stayed.

Woke up one morning to a grown man standing in my room while i was sleeping, yelling at me for my towels so he could switch them out. very unprofessional, very uncomfortable, and down right disrespectful. front desk worker said it was acceptable and i HAD to have my dnd tag on the door if i didn’t want them to ENTER my room with no permission

At check in someone was in the office complaining about the strong smell of marijuana coming into her room. The the door handle on our room was malfunctioning and they told we'd have to just deal with it. The bathroom walls were disgusting with some gel like substance and hair stuck on the walls. The water stayed cold for evening showers, lukewarm for morning showers. Fridge, mircowave coffeemaker and iron provided. Provided coffee was terrible. No hair dryer. T.V.s on the small side. Beds were ok. No offensive smells. Very close to the Comedy Barn and The Island. Very convenient location. Parking is adequate. Noise level is acceptable considering the location. I will not be a return customer - too many options to choose from than have to return to poor service.

Clean rooms, everything nearby! Staff were wonderful, taking care of our every need! Indoor pool was a huge bonus with kids! Would definitely stay here again :)

It was in a great location everything was close by.Our room was clean beds were comfortable and clean sheets we had no issues the whole 6 days. Housekeeping was on top of things and very friendly. ALL front staff was amazing and friendly every time we go get coffee. It wasn’t a HILTON INN but it was perfect for us and I would return back again. I even meet the owner and he was a very nice man. Thanks for the nice stay and hope to see you guys soon!

Stayed 2 nights. Sink in the bathroom was leaking. Used towels to dry the floor, once we returned at night we went to the front desk for towels and the office was closed. Called the phone number provided on the door of the office and we were told no one was onsite to be able to fix the leak or give us towels. Called multiple times and the person hung up every time. Then they blocked our number so we got their voicemail. Finally after calling another phone number we saw in the elevator someone brought us towels. How does a hotel close their front office? This makes no sense.

CONS: If you stay above the 3rd floor you have no internet lucky us floor 7 and no internet. The floors were dirty and lights didn't work, drawers were broken, toilet paper holder broken and light switch sketchy, hair dryer didn't work, happy little roach hanging out in the bathroom, no where to park and was told to park in the bank parking lot where the signs says Hotel guest will be towed. The staff was LAZY and RUDE. Needed towels for the nasty pool and was told they didn't have any and could not get what they didn't have but the sign at the pool clearly states, Dry off before leaving pool. Holes in wall where lights should have been. Never could get anyone at the front desk and would not answer the phones. The cleaning carts banging everything at 4AM woke everyone up. However it had 3 king beds.... Will we stay here again.... Never

Perfect location! This was our second time staying there and we love it! Love the 3 bedroom suit so convenient and love that the island is walking distance from hotel! Well be staying here again!

We've been staying here for years, they've definitely upgraded over the years. We always enjoy the location, there's plenty of restaurants and attractions within walking distance. The rooms are always clean and we love the beds.

This hotel is in a very convenient location and is within short walking distance to numerous shops, restaurants, and attractions. I loved seeing the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel at the Island lit up so brightly at night right from my door. Pirate's Voyage Dinner Show is only a block or two from here as well. I did not like how the property required a $50 deposit upon check-in. I feel that it should only be assessed if any damage is found after checking out. Also, the lock on my door did not work after the first night. The door would close, but all I had to do was push it and it would open without a key card. It might be a good idea to hide your valuables when you go out so that no one steals anything. Lastly, the parking situation here is very tight and very limited. You may have to park across the street if there are no spaces available in front. There is a bank parking lot right next door, but you can't park there except on weekends. All in all, this place is below average. I probably won't consider staying here in the future. There are much better options along the Parkway. You might pay a little more, but you will get more bang for your buck, like a hot breakfast and better security!

the hotel was convenient to the things in the area, but did not have breakfast or a working phone in the room incase of an emergency. The hotel area could have been a little cleaner, they had old appliances sitting on the balcony and in the stairway. The elevator smelled like urine. I did like the idea of having 2 separate bedrooms within 1 room.

I booked thru expedia a double room with 2 queen beds..they moved us to a single room with 2 double beds..staff rude..indoor pool water was green. Room had alot of patched areas an not painted. No hair dryers or breakfasts as advertised. Very street noisy. The price you pay you expect better. Never going back
