Stayed 1 night

I stayed at this hotel for its close proximity to the hospital since I had appointments two days in a row. It’s about .6 mile from MD Anderson, which made my appointments walkable from there, which made things easier (but I don’t recommend doing that at night because the area can get a little sketchy). The staff was helpful and let me check in early. They were all really nice. The room was decent and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom had no fan and got awfully stuffy after a shower. There’s a note that steam can set off the fire alarm. Maybe a fan would help? Seems like a basic thing that was missing for a nicer hotel. The noise level was horrible. I didn’t hear people talking in the rooms on either side but I could hear every single thing in the hallway from doors opening and closing to conversations and even just people walking. I had a late night MRI and was fasting before my late morning PET scan so I was hoping to sleep in a bit. It was pretty frustrating to be woken up by hallway noise. The room had a night light built into the light switch in the entry area by the bathroom that could not be turned off and it prevented the room from becoming fully dark, which also made sleeping difficult. The rooftop pool was decent and not very packed but it was a week day. The lounge area out there was nice also. I got food at the bar and it was pretty tasty. The bar tender was friendly and helpful. Parking is $20 and spots are tight; pretty standard for the area.
