DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Houston - Greenway Plaza

Nice and clean. Pretty straightforward with a Starbucks downstairs.

Parking is easy at garage downstairs with a fee, $30 for self-parking, $40 for valet parking. Not street park nearby.

I booked this hotel for a girls' trip to celebrate my sister's 50th & my 47th birthday! The 1st indication of an issue was that 1 of the 2 escalators needed to get to check-in was not working. We had to drag our bags up a very long escalator! Check-in was smooth, as the front desk staff was courteous & helpful. We had a dinner reservation, so we left our room with enough time to make it on time. We got to the garage & realized we were stuck. The line of cars was ridiculous! We sat in our car, unable to leave. We were TRAPPED in the parking garage for over 30 minutes! No explanation was given. We were unable to reach the restaurant to let them know what was going on bc there was no cell reception in the garage! When the line finally started moving, were saw a staff member & asked what was going on. By this time, anxiety was setting in. We were told that the exit gate was not working. We were let out manually one car at a time by staff. Thankfully, after much begging, the restaurant allowed us to stay, even though we were about 45 minutes late. Upon check out, we had a brunch reservation. We, of course left with enough time to make it, just in case the garage gate was still out. We waited at the elevator for over 15 minutes. The door opened & it was full. We continued waiting, 10 minutes later another full elevator opened & the passengers told us to take the stairs bc they waited 20 min. WE WERE ON THE 6TH FLOOR WITH LUGGAGE! Then, had to walk down the broken escalator again!

Aged property but rooms are good size and it was very quiet. We enjoyed using the gym and the pool looked very nice. Check in was ok. Staff was friendly and didn’t offer any information at check in about our stay. They do text throughout your stay and I found that to be a nice way to communicate quickly. Parking is somewhat of a nightmare. It it’s underground and you take winding ramps to get there. They also charge $30 a day to park your car there. Had I known that I probably wouldn’t have booked there. This hotel is on the same grounds as Joel Osteen ministries. It’s a very large complex.

Very convenient location. My only complaint was the bar - it was crowded and service was slow. Very cool bar BTW

Honestly, I'm a little disappointed. When we checked in, we were given key cards to someone else's room. Scared a woman half to death because it was 2 in the morning. Were given 2 free breakfasts to make up for it, which were really gross. Food looked and tasted like it had been reheated numerous times. Breakfast sandwiches were not fresh. We really didn't eat it. Glad it was free. Pool needs a good cleaning. Escalator didn't work and it seemed like it hadn't worked for awhile. Then when we were leaving, waited 20 minutes for an elevator (we were on the 18th floor with luggage so walking the stairs was not an option) because they were having problems with it. Doesn't seem like they are keeping things up. I guess I just expected more from a DoubleTree.

I reserved the hotel in condition there is a shuttle for 3 miles .Unfortunately they said that the shuttle under service and did not offer alternate service .They ask me at check in counter if you don't like look for another hotel.

The signage inside & outside was terrible. An escalator was broken so I had to drag my suitcase up. The room was clean but very small. And the toilet would not flush.

The Elevators weren’t response you hit the button. Some of the escalators weren’t working either. I had to take the stairs twice because they was fixing the elevator….not good when you’re on the 10th

Parking was in a tiny garage. Trucks need to be valet parked. Room was small and nothing special for the price. The nicest thing about the hotel is its next door to Joel Osteen church. Saw many angels going to church and felt bad because I was going to Texans game...

Room had an odor like mold, comforter was dirty and moldy

The room reeked of cigarette smoke and marijuana.

The property was nice and welcoming. Close to attractions and a nice variety of chain and independent eatery’s to choose from. Drawbacks it was quite cold in Houston when we visited. The Heater in the room didn’t work. There was dark mold on the celing in the bathroom in a couple of different places. 😬

Room was disgusting. Floors weren't vacuumed. There was dog and human hair everywhere and even an old eye contact on the floor. Bathroom floors were nasty. The bed was caved in the middle and very uncomfortable. Will never stay at another Double Tree again.

Ice Machine had mold. We had to be moved because the room was not clean. Staff was very accommodating and nice.

The hotel is clean and all the staff were welcoming and ready to help. Very clean and quiet, I will definitely be back.

The hotel is an older hotel but kept in very good condition. It was a little overwhelming to find parking at first and lobby to check in. The room was very clean and bed was very comfortable. Staff was friendly.

Pool was not cleaned, shower water would not heat up, very rude front desk staff, and check-in there were a lot of things that were not communicated(Ex.. parking, how to get in and out, lots of hidden fees.! )

Dirty

The property was clean and safe, which were my two priorities. The rooms themselves are quite outdated, especially the bathroom. Overall, for a night or two, it was a good place to stay.

Nice lobby but really dated. My whole room was a series of extension cords. Turn out the lights? Just pull the extension cord and all the lights go out! It was a convenient location but will probably not be staying here next time.

Other than the air conditioner that didnt seem to work right, the place was well worth the price. Its close to everything. I would stay there again.

Clean and spacious room but I wasn’t crazy about the tight parking and parking for the check in area.

No one will get back with me regarding a shirt that we left in the room. I have called and called, they never get back with me.

1st day was ok. But we smelled cigarette smell inside our room both nights. I let someone know about the smell the following morning and they just said “someone was probably smoking” and didn’t apologize or anything. Valet situation there is a nightmare. We waited over 20 mins multiple times just get our vehicle that’s cause we pre requested ahead of time. On the final night after coming back to the hotel, we waited over 45mins just for someone to valet our vehicle.

Staff was as nice and friendly as always. See yall next time.

The staff, especially Jacoby, was amazing. The valet crew was efficient and kind. We came to Houston for a delicate medical matter and the time we spent at the hotel made it feel like home. Will definitely stay again.

Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Their valet service is convenient. The breakfast provided offered a large selection of items. MARIA and CARMEN in the restaurant are very attentive and super kind.

We stayed for a ballet competiton so we were there for 3 nights. I have two complaints... There is a parking garage but to self park is $28 a night (totally understandable for vallet but to self park is addtional as well along with the security deposit) and the parking garage itself is the most confusing one I have been in, nothing is marked, passing section are chained off and there are no directional signs. ugh! Also, very very low clearance - 6ft. This is the only option area to park for hotel. Thre is a blue and green area but getting to one or the other side, there are no arrows, no signs, etc. Also, the entrance and navigation to enter the hotel itself. There are no lighted signs from road, no parking garage signs, no entry signs, nothing is lit up at night. If you enter the area called "The Hub" it is a literal maze with one 8x5 sign that says Double Tree with arrow.

Perfect location for NRG stadium

Good value for the price. Very difficult to find, even with Google maps. Be prepared to shell out $$ for parking.

Great location and only took less than 10 minutes to the medical center. Very hospitable.

Clean comfortable. Very busy for parking. Ordered room service and breakfast was subpar. That’s the only thing that needs to be worked on. Potatoes were cold toast tasted old and not hot.

Everything was very clean, nice pool, excellent service and very comfortable beds. Warning, if you drive a truck or SUV, anything over 6 foot tall you will have to use valet parking, which is an added expense. There is a Starbucks on site which was convenient. The bar area is very quiet and a nice place to grab a drink or a meal at the end of the day.

The parking at this place is diabolical for one and expensive to say the least. We made it to the room it was nice clean. Didn’t quite meet my expectation on terms of how cold you can get it but it wasn’t sweltering. The pool looked nice there was a bar and a Starbucks! The service was great!

. Was a pretty lobby. But $18 breakfast that we had no clue about. We were told to go have breakfast while we waited on our room with no mention at all about the $18 pp fee at all. Also charge $75 PER NIGNT fee when over the phone I was told $50 per night. Room was comfortable but shower had a bit of mold. I would still give my stay a 7.5 outta 10. Bartender was super nice. The staff as a whole were nice.

There was only 1 server working the breakfast buffet through 4 days, she seemed overworked and unhappy. Drinks like coffee, tea, juice, and even water were not self-serve so the server did not always remember our requests for a drink, not really her fault because on certain days when there was a conference in the hotel, it was quite busy during breakfast, either hire more servers for breakfast or allow guests to self-serve drinks, honestly this issue was quite bothersome because it was Monday through Thursday during our stay and breakfast being an important part to start off your day, my day often started poorly because of your breakfast service or lack thereof. Also getting the vouchers for breakfast everyday was kind of confusing being that I bought breakfast through the Expedia package, the server was upset when we didn’t tip her but none of the breakfast process was explained by any of the staff, and every time there was a new front desk person they wouldn’t know I was staying with my father, sometimes we would get breakfast separately, so they always looked confused about giving us a breakfast voucher. Breakfast was by far the most troublesome aspect of our trip, everything else was fine. It was also hard to order food from a restaurant within the hotel, even though it’s inside the hotel, we couldn’t access an updated menu online, and someone from services had to come up to our room to take our order.

Nice Place And Good Food Enjoy Everything

Facility can be hard to access even for locals, but once you find the entrance to the hotel, the vast expanse of the Greenway Plaza is no longer such a problem. The Doubletree is clean, fresh and inviting, the staff (especially CeCe at the front desk!) extremely friendly and helpful, and the free oatmeal/raisin cookies are delicious.

The breakfast was excellent. The service by Carmen was top notch. She realized I should have had free breakfast the fast morning and took it upon herself to make sure I was credited the first morning and had the vocher the second morning.
