The Lancaster was amazing . Great customer service . The hotel has a vintage charm and cozy. Breakfast and snacks are included in the price . Very good breakfast Parking is expensive but park in the parking garage a few blocks 2-3 minutes to the hotel for cheaper

Elegant, quaint and well located in downtown Houston. The 1926 hotel is beautiful and well maintained. The breakfast which was included in our stay was fabulous with plenty of options. Also, free in room snacks were replenished daily. There are many walkable close by restaurants, however, they have a restaurant and bar on site.

Nice hotel and location. But 55 dollars a night for valet is a bit outrageous. The car only goes in a gate outside in the middle of the hotel. I didn’t think it was a high end valet.

Beautiful hotel. Wonderful location. Great snacks in the room. Rooms run small since its a old hotel. Only 2 elevators for all floors including for staff use, so there can be a wait. Especially if one of the elevators goes down, which happened on check out day. Other than that, really enjoyed it.

Staffs were helpful and accommodating. The hotel was lovely and close to establishments. Wish there were more elevators because there were times the wait time was long and there were lots of guests waiting for their turn. The shower needed some improvement.. water leaked at the bottom of the shower door and accumulated puddle of water

Was here for NYE 2024. The place was clean, beautiful, and bonus for complimentary breakfast and minibar items. However, maybe they’re busier than usual, the services were slow. The breakfast stations weren’t being refilled, no one cleaned the tables, and there was one front desk staff gave me wrong information about the bar closing time. They only have 2 small elevators for both staffs and guests, and TV didn’t work properly. The place is beautiful, yes, but not worth the price per night.

Exquisite concierge. As a treat (for us) this was an experience. The room was dated, but only in the way that it fits the era of the Lancaster. Everything was meticulously maintained and clean.

My mom and I always have a wonderful stay! The staff is very courteous and attentive, and the hotel itself is always impeccably clean and inviting. We really love its boutique-style interior and European-inspired façade, which makes us feel like we’re not even in Texas!

Stayed for 2 nights. Housekeeping never cleaned room. We left the light on indicating we wanted room cleaned and even called the front desk at 2pm to clean. Arrived back at 10pm and room was never cleaned, beds never made etc. Even the most basic hotel would be expected to clean the rooms. Thats a bare minimum. Notified front desk room was never cleaned and they said they would “make note of that.” They offered to have it cleaned at 10pm when we returned but of course we were not going to wait for that at that hour. Really puzzled why Hotel would think this would be ok. Extremely disappointed and basically ruined last night there.

Unfortunately there was a strong bad smell in my room (601) when I checked in around 9.30pm. I asked to change rooms but was told the hotel was full. Housekeeping came and sprayed, but that ended up being too strong a chemical scent (almost made my eyes water) so I ended up having to keep my room door open for half an hour to try and air it. Once that chemical smell went away, the bad odour remained. No one checked up afterwards to see if everything was ok which is the least I would have expected from a luxury hotel. The original artworks were a nice touch, as was the Bulgari toiletries. But that smell was really unacceptable in this level of establishment and the room should have been kept out of service until that was resolved.

I had a good stay at The Lancaster Hotel. The staff, especially Alex at the front desk was very helpful and attentive! They offered amazing service from the door to your hotel room and it was a great experience. One downside is that if you’re a light sleeper like me, the rooms aren’t sound proof so you can hear your neighbors and those in the hallway. Other than that, I had a great time.

This was my first stay at The Lancaster Hotel and I don’t think I’ll ever stay anywhere else while in Houston. I loved it. The staff, the room, the property exceeded my expectations. I’m a light sleeper and worried about the street noise, but even staying on 2nd floor facing a busy street downtown, I could barely hear anything though the soundproof windows! Can’t wait to stay again!

While it was a very nice hotel, the penthouse suite left a lot to be desired. The size of it was much too small to be comfortable for two adults one over 6 ft tall. Other than the small room, everything else was amazing.

The Lancaster is a beautiful hotel located in a very convenient spot downtown. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. Enjoyed the bar as well with a delicious dirty martini! Highly recommend

I would have gladly given all excellent and 5 stars but the air conditioning is super load and comes on for a few minutes it seemed like off and on all night long. The fan makes a lot of noise. Thankfully the room stayed cool but it was very loud and hard to sleep

This is such a beautiful property. The location is wonderful, right in the heart of the art district and walkable to restaurants, shows, and street art. The amenities are great!- breakfast, gym, in room snacks and nespresso coffee, on site art gallery, and welcome Champagne. I am marking them down because you can hear everything in the room. There was a car alarm that went off for 2 or more hours and it was from the valet parking area. It went off so long that my brain made it a permanent sound. You could also hear the showers from other rooms, doors closing, everything. It was so terrible that I did not get a good night of sleep and I woke up with a headache. If I do stay again I would bring my noise machine and/or earplugs.

The staff are the most welcoming people and I look forward to seeing them again in the coming year. My favorite amenity is the snack drawer with free drinks, candy, cookies, and chips that are replenished daily. The hotel restaurant is equally outstanding and makes single diners feel right at home.

Excellent hotel service and excellent rooms, well worth the expense! Management at restaurant can greatly improve. Manager, old gentleman there, was rude making me leave the table I was about to sit on so he could assign me a table (empty tables all around) where he was okay with me sitting on.

Lancaster looks good online, but employees are snotty/do not listen. Was pleased to be able to check in early. I got to room and found a cell phone on the nightstand so had to return to the lobby so I could give it to front desk. That a large phone in a bright blue case was left in the room was first clue that attention to detail was lacking with the staff. Back upstairs… within my first hour settling in I was interrupted by housekeeping 3 times, telling them all I had just checked in and did not need anything. Much later I realized that there were no snacks and only 2 gross beverages/no water in the minibar, so when the afternoon interruption arrived I requested some water. The young woman looked at me blankly and shoved chocolate into my hand, and I never got any water. I later called down to the front desk and explained the situation. Alex said “YOU ALREADY FINISHED ALL OF YOUR SNACKS?!?” as though he was speaking to a naughty 5 year old. Um, no, as I said, there were NO snacks, ALEX — use your ears, and send up some water. Customer service is about listening. I don’t care about snacks. Reception made a big deal at check in that they are complimentary but they were actually nonexistent and then Alex acted like I was scamming him. Eye roll. Brunch was pricey and middling and the bartender initially ignored me and then barely tolerated me. 2 hours before checkout housekeeping banged on my door (despite do not disturb) asking if I was checking out.

We love this hotel and it’s bar. Only complaint is the bartenders. ALWAYS have to flag them down for another cocktail they act as if stocking the bar is their priority.

We were able to park and check our bags before check in. Our outlets in room did not work. When I called chest services, I was told to go buy a new charger/block at a cvs. No offer to have someone take a look. I said is that all you can do for me and he replied "yes". I went to front desk and a different man sent someone up and said it was our cord. Cords were working fine in the car. Only plug that worked was clock to charge 3 devices. Next morning, when getting breakfast, a woman asked if I needed silverware. I said yes and ready to take one's rolled on table. She said "I need my silverware don't take those" and gave me plastic silverware.

The bar in the lobby is great. The “gourmet” breakfast buffet is quite limited. My shower had an odd plastic/soapy thing about the size of a bar of soap stuck in a corner. Service was great except that on Saturday early morning I was awakened by an errant housekeeper ringing my doorbell saying I had already checked out (uh, no) and wanting to clean the room. Much of the hotel is just not very clean. It needs attention.

This was a slight splurge and worth every penny! The location was ideal and the lobby and rooms were luxurious and comfortable enough to work from. The decor was impeccable throughout. I enjoyed the included breakfast and also chose to have lunch in their ground level restaurant, which was fantastic. 5 stars all around!
