Hampton Inn Salt Lake City/Layton

Parking was easy. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was larger than expected, i really liked the set up.

They were doing some work within the property which created a lot of mess and paint fumes. The room we stayed in wasn’t as clean as I would have expected and there was hair left in the shower from the previous person. Stains on the wall, also no fan in the bathrooms which we thought was weird. For the price it wasn’t worth complaining however it felt like the room should have definitely been under $100 per night with the conditions, amenities and staff.

The pool is out of commission getting fixed or redone no business area and what really got me was they can’t break any amount of money they don’t have any money on site every hotel that I’ve travelled across United States has money ? So cleaning personal didn’t get tip!

The property is undergoing renovation which causes a few headaches. First, you can't get to breakfast without going out and around the building. Second, half of the parking lot is taken up by construction vans, cherry-pickers, etc. so parking is limited. Breakfast was meh. The eggs were obvious microwaved egg and cheese concoctions. The juice machine was out of order and the boxed juices they provided were all frozen. No non-dairy alternatives for cereal. The bathroom drain was slow so that water built up during a shower.
